I've been debating this with my friends, I'd like a general consensus from the good people of this site:

Has Steve DeRidder got fat? I swear when he came on against Arsenal, he had taken on an Andy Reid physique.

I'll give you a serious answer...

I think he has bulked up (muscle) not fattened up to give him a bit more strength in the league. There were concerned he was a bit of a lightweight.

Reasonable Championship player but not good enough for prem. Attacking defender but can get caught out and not get back in time to cover.

Danny Fox was a great asset to us last season, however he is only really a good player going forward. Like many left backs, or even most left backs, he suffers from 'lack of defensive ability disorder'. But I wouldn't discredit him that much he is very at home in the Championship and with Luke Shaw clearly being the better option I wouldn't be surprised if you did take him off us.

Won't this be the second left back you lot have signed from us then? Because I could've sworn Nottingham Forest signed Dan Harding from us in the summer.

Decent enough player in the championship but cant see saints wanting to let him go as hes the only cover for shaw

We should just use Matty Targett as back up and sell him

Don't get me wrong Matty Targett is a great youngster but for the prem we should just use Ben Reeves.

Why do we even have a Southampton rumours site? I mean it's not exactly like anything ever really happens. I know this is an exaduration but seriously it does get frustrating being one of the only clubs to not be doing anything. Take clubs below us like Reading who already have 3 or 4 new players in and have talk of more while nothing continues to happen at St Mary's.

I totally share your frustration. Genuinely I do, I just think that NC prefers to do it all hush hush style. I have faith that things are going on but I would just like an idea that things are going on. Just to be told dont worry we are trying to get some rather than a wall of nothingness

Reading have signed 3 or 4 players...but championship players if that.

I would rather we take a long time to do business and sign 1 or 2 quality players.

imo we dont have a great need to sign anyone anyway, our squad is alright as it is. A CB and a winger maybe, but not much need for anything else
