Fraser Forster ummmmm. He is undoubtedly a great shot stopper but whether you like it or not he is rubbish coming off his line . Yesterday he was man of the match but he was mainly responsible for the first goal and got Fonte in trouble a few times with indecision . The centre halves have to have confidence that the keeper is in control of his six yard box. Fraser hasn't got this part to his game yet, when he does then you can call him world class until then he is just a great shot stopping keeper who makes the crowd and the defence very nervous on set pieces . I can't remember him actually saving a set piece free kick or shot from outside the box this season.

Early in the season I defended Forster from your criticism Chris, however I have to say I was wrong to a degree. His decision-making isn't to the level we need it to be, he's got terrific reactions at close quarters but he definitely still needs to improve on collecting crosses and his positioning for free kicks. He has all the potential to be the best English keeper, just needs to work on his weaknesses much like David De Gea has done at Manchester United.

I agree. Fraser Forster is not the finished article, however having said that, looking around the other EPL teams there isn't many keepers that I would swap him for. We must remember also that he's still relatively young for a keeper. They seem to improve with age so hopefully he will work on his weaknesses and maybe in a year or so he'll be the best keeper in England. Then we go back to other teams wanting to prise him away from us. He obviously has ambitions to be England's no.1 and would want to be playing regular European football so could become yet another player that we struggle to keep at Saints if we can't provide that.

Seems like we have a bored person intent on disliking any post criticising Fraser Forster. You don't think Fraser himself uses this site do you?
