I personally don't think we need that much for next season apart from a class CB, LM cover and LB cover, which I hope will be Astori, Scot Sinclair and even someone like Wayne Bridge would provide good cover for Shaw and would also be a good role modal for him, I wouldn't mind a classy striker too, but while we have Lee & Mayuka who haven't really been given a chance, I don't think we need one especially with Jake Sinclair coming through too, but I do like the idea of Adrian Lopez and maybe a GK in Fraser Forster, apart from that I'd just like some quality young British players like Jeff Hughs, John Williams, Mason Bennet. COYR!

Think Lee won't be staying with us, sounds like he's heading home to Japan this summer permanently. I think we will get another full back but Bridge I doubt will be the one.
Think Astori is a bit of a long shot but could happen, Scot Sinclair is less likely and Forster I can't see any chance of that happening to be honest.

How can you say we need LB cover but not RB cover? At RB we just have Clyne and otherwise play Yoshida out of position?! Fox does an OK job covering for LB so wouldn't say it's a priority.

If Forren plays we don't need another CB, Yoshida and Forren should be good enough with Fonte/Jos as cover.

Definitely don't need 4 first team keepers, unless Gazza goes out on loan.

Agree we need a quality striker if Mayuka/Lee aren't getting a chance.

Also we need cover at CDM as when Cork/Schneiderlin are out we are considerably weaker defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have Fraser Richardson, who's good enough to act as cover

And as for GK I posted this before Boruc signed for another 2 years, but both Davies and Boruc are getting on hopefully gaz will be good enough by then but if not someone like Fraser Forster who is coming of age and looking amazing would be great and add competition for Boruc

Anyone know what's going on with goalkeeping situation? Boruc staying? The Ter Steggen thing keeps popping up. Is he signed to Stoke and if so, why have they signed Butland? Don't recall him signing for them. Would be great to have him on board but got to say, Boruc has been solid.

On another note, looks likely we'll extend above Kingsland this summer. Pricey thing to do but we wouldn't get much for St Marys as its not exactly prime real estate (!) so the thinking seems to be extend St Marys as its designed to do. Source was local labour MP.

Ter Steggen has rumoured to already be signed by Barcelona as Valdes isn't going to be with them much longer

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see us getting Ter Stegen, if he leaves Germany it'll be for one of the current best in Europe. Butland has signed for Stoke and returned to Birmingham on loan so Ter Stegen to Stoke seems ridiculous as an idea to me.
Boruc could well stay, I imagine he will be offered a new contract if he hasn't already been and if he doesn't resign then god knows how we'll replace him but we'll need a very good keeper.

Well, the GK situation now sorted for next season.
If MP can keep hold of all his current first team squad there will not be a need to make too many additions.
The ideal extra for me would be a world class CB around 22/23 years of age. Yes, I know just about every top club is looking for the same but I do think that the stability that would bring into the back four for years ahead could be vital.
Suspect we may see cover brought in for Morgan-can't see him managing to get through a full season again without suspension! (Not a dirty player, but very competitive. )

My other thought would be, taking account how well the current squad have adapted to the new style of play, there could well be an addition or two in the attacking third if MP believes that could make his style even more flexible, and more difficult for other teams to counter.

Just hope this time round any such additions are as early as possible to enable everyone to be settled in well before the start of next season.

Everton are a good team, but are they any better than saints? they have a chance of a top 4 finish this season. well done.
but if we are better than everton, could we maybe do this next season and shock the world

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are not better than Everton. Look at the league table granted we had a bad start but we still aren't as consistent as them, we might score more goals but there defence is way more solid than ours. I can see us Being on par with them next season but we are definitely not better than them

Agree0 Disagree0

We are NOT better then Everton, I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. Well not all of us but I've read some delusional posts latly we are progressing but we have only playe 11 games under pochetino and he's had a good run of form but I don't think anyone has really taken into account injuries, suspensions an lack of form which effects all teams maybe we have just had new manager syndrome meaning players are fighting for there spots.

Have people also though of the second season where sometimes the players struggle more then the first, once are style of play is works out etc?

We have a fantastic team and I could never pick who to drop etc because I rate so many of the players BUT we lack depth, also take into account a fair few of are players have only this season as prem experience.

We need some leadership I feel we play fantastic football and its a pleasure to be a saints fan but when we are on the Backfoot you have I admit you get that feeling something bad is going to happen.

I think aiming for 6-10 position is realistic but depth is important we have been lucky with certain injurys because we have a class player to fill in eg on the wings but some pace, some depth and some creativity added I think we can be a force we have had a lot of plaudits latly tho

Good time to be a saints fan

Clarkey saint

P. s not being negative I just don't think you should count your chickens yet we are still in the relegation battle as it stands an I won't be happy until its mathematically impossible to be relegated

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not get carred away

Agree0 Disagree0

Better than Everton, lol, you're not even better than west ham, deluded

Agree0 Disagree0

We are on the other hand better than west ham. A lot better

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes hoofball is a fantastic style of football that everyone loves to watch.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're not better than Everton yet, but we have the potential to be! I'm not saying top 4 next season but Europe could still be a posability

Agree0 Disagree0

We could be in europe next season via the fair play table, not sure if will be a good thing with added games so higher chance of injury, a long way to go still to be better than everton as they are a solid consistant team

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats all this better than Everton c**l, you're fighting relegation, Everton are challenging for champs lge, end of, talk about deluded
