Anyone think Patrick Bamford would be a good signing? Scores all a lot for Derby and is only 20, he's on loan from Chelsea and as we need a striker, may be worth a go, as he plays off Chris Martin for Derby, in a similar role to Jay.

Bamford has scored 25 goals in 49 appearances including 8 in 18 games in the Championship.

Danny Ings however has scored 27 goals in 44 appearances this season with 20 in 30 games in the Championship.

Ings is faster and with greater experience but also valued more greatly by his club. Although he is a Southampton fan after all so he could be a real possibility.

As for Bamford I believe that he is a really exciting young player and could well go onto great things, he isn't regarded too highly by his club either so he could be purchased for below 5 million.

In general, good time to be a Saints' fan :)

Yh was just mentioning a young, talented player that we haven't spoken of yet, as I agree Ings is quality and Vokes isn't that bad either (Vokes even went to my school!) Vokes is a Saints fan to I think, so both would play there hearts out for us, but I think they'll both stay at Burnley if they're promoted

If norwich go down this at the end of the season, I was thinking what would everyone think if we went for john ruddy?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's a good player, another one to look at is David Marshal the Cardiff keeper, no disrespect to Cardiff here, but without him I think they may already be relegated. Other keeper to look at are Butland, as he doesn't play over Begovic at Stoke, McCarthy the reading keeper and Fraser Forster, all quality players

Butlands on loan at Leeds

dont think butland is that good no better than what saints have john

IMO we need a keeper who can play, pick a pass and keep the possession better the than boruc who is also good at everything Boruc is good at. Borucs distribution is often poor.

Preferably fairly young, Boruc only has one more year on his left mind. That Chile one seemed pretty good at what I mentioned haven't seen much of him though. Plays in La Liga I think

Claudio Bravo- Real Sociedad

Be hard to pull off but I see they are almost certain not to get CL this season.

Loan Gazza out and get him in to compete and utlimately replace Boruc

Agree0 Disagree0

We are also not going to get CL this season, so not sure why that would factor into any move for Bravo. Marshall looks very good.

Think about it for a bit then, or I'll tell you. If Real Sociedad don't get Champions League Bravo will be more likely to leave than if they were in the Champions league (like they were this season). Plus most if not all big CL clubs will have there goalkeeper sorted therefore a move one of those teams unlikely.
