Kurt Zouma, interesting Manchester United and Manchester City, is on Southampton's radar heading into January. {Ed025's Note - im sure he will pick the saints, over them 2 also rans.. :)

Young CB like this, playing regularly in France, would he want to sit on the bench in Manchester for a couple of years?

Also, some questions about stability of the Man. clubs if they lose their managers. New people come in with their own ideas about players.

I think NC could sell the club quite well to such a player and if not Zouma, I suspect we will see someone similar come in January.

Zouma would be a great signing.

I'm not going to be pretentious and say Saints are a more attractive option that the manc clubs! You can BS all you want about 'sitting on the bench' or 'squad stability' but youngsters can be loaned out and as for stabliity... we're not a sure thing to stay in the prem... so that's nonsense to suggest we are more stable than the two manc clubs!)

However, as with Ramirez if things don't work out with the 'bigger' clubs, there is nothing wrong with a move to Saints, and we would be happy to have him and I'm sure he would be happy here.

The point I was making about the Manchester clubs was:

How many players of this age (however good) are playing regularly?

Both Manchester clubs could quite easily see a change of manager within the year. I was not indicating this was anything to do with financial security but any young player considering a move to a new club will take a look at the club management he will join and whether this same management is likely to change.

In both respects I believe Saints have something to offer. Whether it would be enough to appeal to a player purely depends on an individual players priorities.

Ha! I signed both Zouma and Ter Stegen to my FIFA saints team just before the rumours started circulating! I cant think where these rumours come from!.. Zouma's on the bench, he's being kept out by Masi, are we going for Masi?!

i would love to sighn welliton as he is class but i think a goal keeper and mabey another center half is our mane priority but would still love to sighn him

Who's Welliton? And I believe a few Goalkeepers and Defenders have been mentioned like Mark Andre Ter Stegen, Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Michael Dawson and Douglas. At least those are the one's I've read on here and some of them elsewhere too.

This is the window for Saints to sign players to keep in the Premiership this season. If that is achieved, which I believe it will, then it will be the summer window that sees more adventure for 2013/2014 season.

I think you need to be more realistic to the priorities that face the club at the moment, and then look for more exciting stuff in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Priority for signings should be:

1) A RB to cover for Clyne
2) An experienced squad CDM to cover for Schneiderlin/Cork (we were terrible without Cork at the start of the season)
3) A CB (Hooiveld wasn't up to much at the beginning of the season and I'm still not 100% convinced with Maya yet... another option would be nice, possibly some experience too)

Possibly add a keeper to that list but only if we can shift Boruc (don't want 4 keepers on the wage bill and we can survive with Davis/improved Gazza)

Really don't want to be pissing away money and time chasing juvenile attacking players, save that fun for summer when time is plentiful and we are can afford to be adventurous.
