If we got van dijk and djilobodji then I would be extremely happy as that means that our 3rd choice centre back won't be a liability, like gardos and Yoshida were last year when they had to stop in when fonte and alderweireld were injured, , would then loan out McCarthy to a league 1 team, then Stephens and Turnbull ro a championship team

Don't quite get the Yosh thing , I think he played really well when called upon last season and remember he is not an ever present in the side and to me was one of the most improved players we have. However I must admit the jury's out on Gardos but you never know he may be a lot better than we have seen so far.

Opta stats show that Yoshida played just as well, if not better than Alderweireld. Seems to be one of those players who get loads of stick from the 'fans' despite never actually doing much wrong. Gardos done very well when he came in vs Utd too. Neither of them let the side down when they were needed

Wash your mouth out leedsyar, yoshida did a great job for us last year as a first choice back up. I think he was much improved from the previous year and no reason why he should not advance further this season.
I don't doubt we need to strengthen our centre back options. So with, ideally, Two reinforcements. jose Fonte and yoshida we would have a class four centre backs for any circumstance (including injury) to select from.
I have to add that Fonte seems to have grown 6 inches taller and a yard faster since wearing the armband he also seem,s to inspire improvement in the players around him

Yosh covered well at cb and at RB when needed ( granted he was as attack minded)
Gardos did well too and I fully expect him to play more of a starting role in the league cup. He has the attributes to be a great CB and just needs experience.
Don't get me wrong, he's not first 11 yet but I think he will be in the future.
