It seems obvious that Morgan schneiderlin is leaving I'm just wondering who you think he'll end up signing for?

I really hope he signs for United I think he'd slot into our line up very nicely.

Cheers

Whoever stumps up the money, basically. If we take him at his word, that he'll only leave for a CL club, the options are limited.

I don't think Chelsea will be in for him (although I think a Matic-Schneiderlin axis in midfield would be virtually impenetrable). City could potentially take a look, as he counts as a home-grown player and they're desperately short of them. But I haven't read or heard anything about them being interested.

Arsenal have been forever linked, but Wenger's pretty loathe to spend big on "defensive" players.

Tottenham are keen, but cheap, and don't have Champions League to offer.

We'll just assume Liverpool are probably interested, on account of him being a Southampton player.

So, all signs point to United, if A) they actually want him and B) he wants to stay in England. There's always the possibility of PSG offering to take him home, I suppose.

Personally, I think Saints are undervaluing him at £25m. James Milner went for more than that. Fellaini went for more than that. They're not in Schneiderlin's class.

It'll only be obvious once someone actually makes a bid and one that matches the club's valuation! For some reason both Arsenal and United are balking at the idea of paying £25 million or more and are looking at cheaper targets according to the press.

Personally I think it will be United Dave. In his own words, he wants to stay in England and play CL football. Arsenal could yet come back in for him but media are suggesting they have turned attention elsewhere, possibly due to fee required.

United are the most likely to snap him up and arguably need a player like him in the centre. In my opinion he is one of the league's best.

Its reported that Tottenham have recently enquired, which would be an odd move for Morgan as it wouldn't be the step forward to CL. but money often talks!

If Spider moves within EPL it will probably be to Utd. Don't get carried away with the £25m-that is press speculation only. Can you really see him being sold for less than Shaw?

Saints will likely follow the same path as with Clyne-sign a potential replacement, then tell any "suitors"-"you pay our price or no deal". For Clyne I suspect this is around £15m and Spider £30m. If I am close, they could both remain at Saints for next season.

Celtic fan here: Any update on how foster rehab is coming along , or as to when he will be back in the first team?

Great season last year

Thanks

When he had the operation, they were talking cautiously about Forster possibly being back around the end of the year. But I think, realistically, he'll probably miss the majority of the season. It's a worse injury than Jay Rodriguez suffered, and he still isn't back a year later (although his recovery was compromised by an infection).

Saints are definitely in the market for a new number one to plug the gap for the coming season - let's hope it's only a temporary measure and big Forster can come back to the same physical level ASAP.

If Clyne wants to go to Liverpool there must be something gone in his head. Liverpool are on the slide and if he goes he will loose his England status .

It's all about money.

If we wish British leagues to survive we must put a cap on Utd, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. It's getting ridiculous that these clubs are stashing up on reserves whilst others have to struggle . These clubs do nothing for English Wales or Scottish football.

Good for SFC . They show the way.

Filip Đuričić has agreed a loan move to Trabzonspor ending any chance of him joing saints perminantly.

Shame I really liked the guy and thought he had potential. Our buyout clause was €9 but Benfica are tought to have been ready to except €3. Surely worth a punt for League Cup and early euro rounds?

twitter was hilarious last night, a week ago everyone was slagging him off then last night after he scored (for the Serb u21's) everyone was his biggest fan begging for the club to sign him up.

Not sure he'd done enough for a permanent transfer (defo not for anywhere near 9 million anyway), would have liked him back on loan but he looks like another Ramirez - has the talent just can't hack the prem

I like the way we are going about our business this window, so far it's been sensible and we are getting really good players for decent prices.

I'm disappointed Clyne seems to want to go to Liverpool, they are in such a mess but that's his choice, he does seem to have annoyed Saints and England also recently so maybe it's not so bad he goes.

As for people saying we should stick with Gaston, I can't understand that at all - he hasn't performed anywhere near well enough or consistently enough to warrant a place at the club. He couldn't even turn it on at Hull either and it's not like a lot of clubs are on for him either from what we know. Shame as he doesn't seem a bad lad, just not up to premier league physicality really.

I'm more interested in our next signings:

Keeper on loan
Midfielder to replace spider
Cente-Half - assuming we don't get Toby
Another creative midfielder - clasie hopefully

After the three left us for so called better club and more money

I think if Clyne goes to liverhampton as well he would be showing saints fans very little respect

if some wave £100k per week in your face you would be on the first bus out. Footballers have short careers, they are going to money chase, it will always be the way.
And don't forget that for all the troubles Liverhampton are having, they are still way bigger than Saints.

In defence of the Gaston thing he was injured for the main part of last season and to be honest would you have been motivated playing for Hull City on loan? When we bought him Adkins was here and we were playing a completely different style of football as compared to the high pressing game that Pochettino started . I still think he is a very skilful player and is only 24 and if he could man up a bit he could be very handy for the European campaign which will not be all blood and guts like the PL . Most foreign teams do not play as a team ( apart from the obvious big ones which I don't need to name ) but rely more on individual skills and long balls in to the channels . If we can't move him on for sensible money why not keep him and use him as an impact player especially with his knowledge of playing in Italy . Not the perfect answer I know but a bit of variety in the squad will be important if we want to progress in the Europa League.

So were Leeds.

An ITK on one of the Saints forums suggested Clyne is still expected to stay. Whether than means through a contract extension or to run his contract down who knows.

However putting into perspective that Liverpool are in a transitioning phase and have just lost their main man for the last 14 or so years in Gerrard, they could be about to have a poor season. Plus the fact they've been given a very tough run of fixtures to start off with as well, if they don't do well you can guarantee the media will put a lot of scrutiny on Brendan Rodgers' shoulders.

Clyne is at the point in his career where he wants to be playing at the pinnacle of football and so to sign for Liverpool on a long term deal now, whilst it will reward a big pay rise, it still may not provide him with a chance to play in the Champions League.

Leeds have a owner that invests into his team and in truth all they need is a good solid manager and then they would most probably fly back up the leagues.
