A new transfer rumour I have heard: Gary Hooper could be signed after he has said he wants to leave the relegated norfolk club. Southampton are almost certain of appointing Ronald Koeman as manager. Not too sure about this one, he was sacked at various clubs, but on the other hand he plays some good attacking football and might bring some nice dutch players with him. I have also heard that the next kit manufacturer could be Puma

New manager at saints is going to be Claude Puel, Will be announced in the next 72 hours

Sizeable transfer fund from the board that will be made larger by Lallana and Shaw money.

Going to be a summer of change, lots of quality going out, but a lot of quality coming in as well.

Koeman

Koeman's the man, wasn't sure at first but if you look at his career he's won trophies pretty much wherever he goes, play good football, like bringing through young players and he's an ex Barcelona Star, he would inspire our players, he's got good experience and we'd be perfect for him with our great academy and with a decent transfer kitty as rumoured who knows how well we could do next year!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Let's just hope named soon so can enjoy the world cup!and maybe start reading some positive rumours about players coming in rather than going

Agree0 Disagree0

The worst he's done with a team is at Valencia where he won the spanish cup and finished 10th with a pretty average team

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw that and started to worry he didn't do to well in tougher leagues, but saw the team he had and noticed he won a cup on the way too which isn't bad!

The board aren't getting enough credit. They have held firm over Adam Lallana, Liverpools final bid is around £25m, his pricetag is £30m so I expect and hope they tell them where to go. They couldn't deny Rickie Lambert his dream move even though £4m plus add ons is awful. There's a long way to go but I honestly can't see anybody matching our £30m pricetags for Shaw and Lallana, top 4 clubs want superstar names after paying that amount of money not players who have done well at Southampton. As far as the manager goes i'd like to see Steve Mcclaren in charge. After watching how he transformed Derby and the way he got them playing I think he'd be a good choice, but he's committed to Derby so it would be hard to get him. Seems everybody in football is confirming their commitment apart from saints players.

Just read that Dutch newspaper reporting new manager to be given 50million plus more if players are sold

There is an article in a tabloid newspaper (I believe I am not allowed to say its name due to site filters?) today saying that any newly named saints manager will receive a "transfer kitty" of £50million. This figure has been plucked out of the air but it is worth noting that a "large" budget has been offered to the lead manager candidate. The board is in advanced negotiations with their lead candidate and are hopeful of unveiling their new man in the next week.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's what we offered MoPo, just couldn't match wages with spurs

yes but where is money coming from ,sale of Shaw and Lallana, what a coincidence their reported fees come to fifty million

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently any players going will be added to the fund

Agree0 Disagree0

The money is not coming from player sales, the budget is a case of a "large" fund plus what is made from any player sales.

Apparantly we've shortened our manager shortlist to 2, Koeman is rumoured to be 1 and I reckon and the other is Yakin, both would be quality and rumour has it they'll be a big transfer kitty available, hopefully not funded by the sales of our players, also heard that we're testing Liverpool's resolve with their take it or leave it offer and are going to wait till after the world cup, Lambert deal will sadly go through tomorrow, good look to him, Saints Legend!

ssn suggesting that spurs do not plan to put any bids in for Lallana so maybe Poch does have a bit of respect and dignity after all! Also heard that the board are refusing to even consider selling Adam until after the World Cup although the board have hardly given the impression that they're prepared to dig their heels in over transfers and the Poch situation.

Hi guys,

Me, I don't think lallana or shaw will leave, and I don't think it's doom as gloom
Lallana also said he wouldn't lodge a request
Dejan said he loves the club
Morgan said he would NEVER lodge a transfer request
And Nathaniel wouldn't leave

SInce rickie has almost gone rumors are circling around about Ings, for me I am sad rickie is leaving but who could deny him this oppertunity!
Don't get overworked, I honestly think lallana will stay and the board won't let him go for them to only recieve £18 million after they've given Bournemouth 25%!

Don't get too worried

Wouldn't mind a double bid for Vokes and Ings, both goal scorers and have a leathal partnership and both Saints fans, would be quality IMO, Burnley would let them leave

I can't get past this.
Surely the club knew as well as we did that there was a big chance that MoPo would leave the club this summer. SURELY they were already digging around looking to see what was about so they could hit the ground running.

i wasnt surprised when he left, so neither should they have been.

i expected to have the new manager named within days. now we see things like 'saints board start to look for new boss' or 'have started to write up a short list'. F**K me, we should already have a shortlist, interview them all the day after MoPo left and have the new bloke in by last fri to tell Liverpool to stick their SRL bid and AL/DL won't be joining either.

by the time the WC starts we may have gone from 3 saiants players proudly in the England team, to ZERO.

I just can't see how the board can let ALL of our talent go. unless people are right n KL is assest stripping in preperation.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A very pragmatic attitude as well saint newy. A football-ing management team would have been proactive and done similar to what you have mentioned, we unfortunately don't have that anymore since Cortese left.

For me it's a number of possibilities, the main one being that the board what to cash in on the team and are overly optimistic that youth will replace these players, and we know this won't be the case.

I don't see how we are going to attract a high-calibre manager with a public whole sale of our best players continuing. We've had Moyes connected to the vacant post and well that would be madness IMO.
So who's Saints Fans preferred next manager?
