Not a transfer rumor, but whats peoples opinions of carlisle striker François Zoko ? i think he'll make a good adition to the southampton team

Believable2 Unbelievable6

.......he's good. In league ONE. Why sign an unproven player for the PL?

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't agree with the initial post. But to this comment...

You have to start somewhere. It's about spotting talent in lower leagues that would do well in the prem, he is just asking a question.

According to a dutch newspaper this morning, southampton are looking at a possible loan move for ajax right back Gregory van der Wiel, the 24 year old have found it hard to get games this season, (13 leauge games).
He has so far played 25 times for the dutch

Seems like we would all like to see Jarvis (from Wolves) as our first signing? Exactly what we need to free up Lallana and get some quality in the box for Lambert.

Southampton are planning on making a number of signings following their promotion to the PL.

They have enquired for Matt Jarvis (Wolves), ter Stegen (young GK from the German leagues) and they are also looking at the situation of Junior Hoilett's contract but they'll face competition from other premier league sides.

Nathaniel Clyne from Crystal Palace is also being looked at as a potential replacement RB as Adkins doesn't believe either Richardson or Buttefield are good enough.

As for the other full-back position, Adkins enquired about Wayne Bridge making a possible return in Janurary and will go back in for him again hoping that he will take a substantial wage drop to re-join the club as first choice LB.

There are reports that Jay Rodriguez (Burnley) is already a done-deal but Gary Hooper (Celtic) is also a £7m target and it seems like Hooper would be willing to move now that he would be guarenteed Premier League football which was a stumbling block in Janurary.

Adkins is also working on one big signing which will be a massive statement of intent and will be a big surprise to the rest of the fans of the PL.

That's all the information I have at the moment but as I work at St Mary's I'll update whenever possible.

That would be great

So that's about 19 Championship and league 1 strikers we have, great.

Get real day dreamer.

I expect to sign a higher caliber than the likes of Rodriguez

These would be great signings but we'll never know who they will sign

''Adkins is also working on one big signing which will be a massive statement of intent and will be a big surprise to the rest of the fans of the PL''

hmm... hope it's not beckham or somebody similar.

Hooper has ruled himself out of a move saying "i want to stay at celtic and test myself in the champions leauge"

It is ludicrous to say saints will make any loan signings in the summer. That's not our way. Expect 4/5 real strong signings, perhaps a lot better than most are guessing at. Corteze wants European football, not to simply survive in the Premier League.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I think Saints need to take it one step at a time. You have no chance of European football no matter who you sign. Your a good hard working side so you should be happy with survival.

"Loans...That's not our way"

2 of our 3 signings last summer were loans you mug.
