I think the players we should be goin for in january is not young but experianced prem players
eg dawson, linderguard and for a left back someone like boilsen who is a great player with
great pottental but until then we need
to make the best of what we have gazza
isnt a bad keeper but he makes silly mistakes
so until january dispite the ruhmors hes
fallen out with the club boruc would be
are best shot or switch boruc and gazza around and
obviously shaw is playing well so keep him at
left back at the moment and i think we can
pick up more points.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Dawson would be a great signing, just what we need. I think we need to look into a new keeper like Kasper Schmeichel who is young, but has enough experience to show he could do it at this level. Then we can afford to have Boruc leave us if he's not fitting the clubs mould. Finally, I think we should replace Danny Fox and give Shaw someone better to keep him properly on his toes.

Agree4 Disagree0

Dawson, Friedel, and a decent LB for competition for Shaw. Happy days.

Friedel has proven himself to be mustard year after year - a legend. He still is making £12m Lloris look stupid. Why take chances on unproven keepers? We've done enough of that.

Agree4 Disagree2

What about Reeves at left back, bring on Shaw slowly?

Agree1 Disagree4

I like Ben Reeves he should definately be number 2, but after shaw's performance at QPR, he should definately be in at the mo, I agree dawson is perfect for us, I'd like to see a experienced keeper who has a few more years, like Paul Robinson/ Fraser Forster

Agree2 Disagree1

Really dislike Robinson and Forster only just went to Celtic. Why not Schmeichel honestly? He is a quality keeper, young, confident and capable having played in the Prem previously for I believe it was Manchester City.

Agree0 Disagree1

Really is a no brainer!!!!

Friedel rarely makes mistakes, brilliant shot stopper, great box commander, vastly experienced. 10/10 keeper.

Schmeichel is totally unproven at top level and I havent seen anything to suggest he's better than any other Championship GK. Not worth the risk.

Robert Green is no better than Kelvin Davis.

Agree2 Disagree0

You're right friedal is quality, but we don't want a player who could retire soon, we want a player for the long term

Agree1 Disagree1

No, right now we have a problem and we need a player we can rely on to see this season out at least. Not taking Friedel and taking a risk on someone unproven would be madness in our position. Friedel wont retire for at least 2 years.

Agree4 Disagree0

With Redcrapp going to QPR - there goes any chance of Dawson joining us!
Jof

Agree3 Disagree1

Redknapp is not guaranteed to get Dawson. He will go to where is best for him. I imagine that would actually be Southampton.

Agree2 Disagree2

There are plenty of other proven player who aren't in there 40's and with Dawson it depends where both teams are in Jan, however in our current form I us around the mid-table mark as we're only 6 points from 9th position!

Fantastic result and very enthusing performance at QPR. That's shut up the fickle people for 1 week. My mate is a season ticket holder at Loftus Road and he said he has never seen a side do to them what we did - saints were brilliant. Yes, QPR were dreadful so we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.

For me it is no coincidence that our performances have stepped up with the introduction of Shaw (for Fox), the axing of Guly and what is hopefully finally a fair crack for Puncheon who was fantastic (and has been very good in other games then dropped??).

Reality is with our performances we should have AT LEAST 5 more points than we have so far and but we must stop conceding the silly goals. I'm really worried because there are not 3 poor teams in this league. We are going to have to play well game in game out to stay up.

Newcastle will be a game where we can truly see what lessons we've learned. The fixtures don't look as daunting as they did a couple of months ago. Let's hope we have turned a corner.

COYR!

Tony

Believable9 Unbelievable1

I was sat in the QPR end and their fans around me actually applauded Rickie off and our general play at the end when we were playing keep ball. Gaza was a little suspect, Shaw can't seem to last 90 mins but Foxy seems to have the right attitude when he comes on. Agree with you re Guly but think Jack Cork has made a big difference, which I am pleasantly surprised about as I didn't think he was all that last season?! Saints played well, defence hoofed it when we needed to and Puncheon was great - good little partnership with NC developing on the right and the same with Shaw and AD on the left. Also, for the first time thought AD talked to the ref a lot, which I don't think is a bad thing. Thought the whole team were 'brave' and agree with Adkins - we did show a 'maturity'.
Jof

Agree4 Disagree1

Also Cork's plugged some gaps and Ramirez is a notable asset to have back.

Agree4 Disagree1

It was only QPR barnet could beat them at the moment, lol

Agree2 Disagree5

Normal service will resume this week.

Agree2 Disagree4

So why couldn't chelsea beat them then you bitter skate

Agree3 Disagree1

Newcastle to win 3-0 , soton back to normal, going downnnnnn

Agree1 Disagree6

Even though QPR looked poor for that game, the saints did have a very good performance (minus Gazzaniga but normally he's been quite good so let him off). I think the game against Newcastle could be a good one. If saints play as well as against QPR it is perfectly possible they can take 3 points off of Newcastle. Newcastle haven't been too great as of late anyway. If the team is right and they play together well then we could be in for a good run of games here. Good luck to the lads, lets see how they do.

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm guessing the skates have nothing better to do than try and wind up the vastly superior Premier League club they flatter themselves to call rivals.

Pompey are going down, then your shed will be sold while you rent some council pitch, and then you're going bust.

Agree3 Disagree0

Its sweet when pompey fans say we are going down do they realise where they are in league 1 lol

Agree3 Disagree0

Why do soton fans think it is always pompey fans with opinions, im not a pompey fan and i think newcastle will win 3-0 and soton will go down, and i dont care what happens to portsmouth

Agree0 Disagree0

Because generally the Pompey fans are the only ones bitter enough to come onto our forums and comment where really there is no reason for them to do so. If you support another club other than Southampton or Pompey why come on this site? The only people you'd get on these forums is people with bias one way or another for or against a club.

Agree2 Disagree1

It's rather nice to know there are a number of envious (non skate) supporters around!
Shows Saints are a club to be envied, so these "persons" posting really only disprove their own points.

I think the return of Cork shows how significant it is that players know each others game, as Morgan and Cork do. Many of the others are just getting used to playing for Saints, and/or playing in the Premiership, and once this same understanding develops there will be quite a rapid rise up the league.
For a start, I predict we could finish the first 14 games on 14 points, which will be a much better average than we would have expected a month ago.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not envious or bitter, just give my opinions , last time i looked freedom of speech was still allowed. my opinion is that soton will go down and newcastle will win weekend

Agree3 Disagree3

Only skates say soton

Agree1 Disagree2

For someone who is not a soton supporter, or a skate, you seem to need to spend a whole lot of time on our site giving us your valued opinion. Quite simply, get a life, and a club to support, and spend your time supporting someone rather than whinging about another team. Life's too short to be so worried about something that shouldn't concern you.

Agree3 Disagree2

I visit all sites and have good banter with most fans, but SOTON , which is the easy way to write it, nothing to do with being a skate, are so far up their own arses its beyond believe. but now you are in debt perhaps you will come down to earth with a bump, and newcastle to win 3-0, soton down

Agree3 Disagree3

So, Soton are in debt, but owned by a family of billionaires. No different to Man. City or Chelsea, so what is your point? Do you actually have one, or are you so interested in getting your opinion across you only end up confusing yourself. You obviously have some axe to grind against "Soton" but your opinion is valued as much as your crazy economics, so do stop suggesting Saints have financial problems, it just makes you look illiterate.

Agree1 Disagree2

Maybe not illiterate, just blind. Clearly can't see the real situation. Or he is a classic tabloid reader who thinks he knows anything about the truth but instead is forced into the bias views of papers desperate for stories.
I'd love to see the daily mail post an article claiming Chelsea were in administration... It'd be hilarious to see how many imbeciles believed it.

Agree1 Disagree2

The point the deluded soton fans can't see being made is that they had to take out a loan against next seasons payout, assuming they will still be in the prem, which is very doubtful, yet they have a supposedley rich owner who will give adkins what he needs, as said before, soton becoming the most hated team in the prem because of there 'we are always right' person fans

Agree2 Disagree3

Don't think city or chelsea have taken out any loans based on next seasons payouts

Agree2 Disagree0

Quite interesting to see you know as little about football as you do finance! 3-0 to Newcastle??!! LOL

What a LOSER!

Go chat somewhere else and make a fool of yourself again-you must be used to it by now.

Agree2 Disagree1

Southampton fans are not always right, just as you are not always right. Or anyone else for that matter. Southampton may have people who hate them, as do all professional football clubs. But I personally think there is a friendly atmosphere around Southampton Football Club. Granted, as with all clubs, there are fans who take things a step too far every now and then. But you can't call us the most hated club in the league because you have a beef with a select few who associate with our club. You should learn to wear your colours with pride and accept others who do so with their clubs too.

Ok, diplomatic hat aside there is very little premise to say Southampton are in financial trouble. Yes they take out the odd loan. So do all clubs at this level. They also however are doing alright and look like they should stay up based on recent form. Even if they do go down they have billionaire backers who can support the club and prevent administration. Southampton are careful with the financing and have plans to deal with problems if they occur. I think you should worry about your clubs affairs and leave us alone if you don't particularly like us.

Agree2 Disagree0

It would be quite nice to have supporters from other clubs post on our sites some messages which are based on fact or common sense. A good example is the post about city and chelsea not taking out loans. Well, apart from anything else, what was their revenue stream last year playing in the EPL and Champions League compared to Saints in the Championship??? It seems people these days just have to make a comment without engaging any part of their brain first.
Yes, Saints are the new team on the block in terms of the Premiership but the club is run by just about the most financially astute Chairman in the league. He may not be everyones cup of tea in terms of the way he goes about things but to try and develop a story about financial problems at Saints is just silly. We may be a few miles from Pompey but we are a million miles away in the way the finances of the club are run.

Agree3 Disagree1

Blah blah blah, grow up soton fans, just because someone says you are in debt, which you are, you resort to childish name calling, and it was your own fan who said you were no different to city or chelsea, which you clearly are , as neither have taken out loans against next seasons payouts, unlike soton

Agree1 Disagree3

Another quotation from the flat earth brigade! Next, you will become an expert on nuclear fusion. Why do you need to make comments about something you clearly know nothing about?
Afraid the blah, blah, blah comes from your ignorance-and that is not childish name calling but a statement of fact.
Can I recommend some positive energy rather than envy-it's good for your health.

Agree2 Disagree2

I clearly know more about your club than you do, come out of your denial and face the facts, you are in debt, explain why you had to take out a loan from an off shore company against next seasons payouts, and envy, lol , tell me what i have to be envious of, a 3rd rate football club with a handful of fans , who have to be the most arrogant bunch of no marks in football, lol

Agree1 Disagree2

You obviously know nothing about Saints finances. How much debt did the owners write off recently, that had been accrued after the rescue of the club and the rebuilding process that followed?? You don't have a clue, do you?
Well, Saints supporters know this and understand if a club is promoted from the Championship it has to start paying EPL salaries, EPL transfer fees etc. and this is before the new academy costs. All before TV revenues come in. So, a club initially spends more money, how it accounts for it is not important. If it is listed as a debt, it is not important as long as the club has the resource to pay the debt. Saints do.
Is that too complicated for you? You only find us arrogant because you are ignorant. Ignorance is continuing to drone on about something you clearly know NOTHING about but claim you do.

Don't travel too far from home, you may fall off the edge.

Agree2 Disagree4

You don't get the point do you, because like i said, your arrogant and think you are so much better than the rest. Why have you taken out a loan on next seasons payouts, especially as u will be relegated, when , as you all keep banging on about, you are one of the richest in the prem. And you can be as condescending and insulting as you want, water off a ducks back

Agree5 Disagree5

Not sure you are a duck-but maybe something similar!

If you understood ANYTHING about finance you would know that even the richest individuals and companies take out loans. There is nothing wrong in taking out a loan, it is sensible for all sorts of reasons under certain circumstances. The point you don't get, which I find incredible as it should not be beyond anyones mental ability, that a loan taken out by a business which has strong finances behind it is no problem to anyone.

Let me try and explain in baby talk:

I have £100 worth of assets, but I have a use for all of those assets at the moment which means they will be worth £150 in two years time, but I have a desire to spend £10 now on a venture which will give me a good return over the next two years. So, I take a loan and pay £11 (to include the loan cost). After two years, my £100 is £150, my loan is £11 which I then pay off but I am still £39 better off. That is how billionaires (like Saints owners) become and stay billionaires, whereas "persons" like you haven't a clue and fail to realise when, like the duck you are, you're plucked!

Agree5 Disagree6

Well, hello Donald.

Saints got financial problems have they? Building at Staplewood stopped because they are skint?

No-building stopped temporarily because the construction people found upgrading the dome was questionnable in terms of cost effectiveness. So, a pause whilst they looked at options. Now they have decided to INCREASE expenditure by totally rebuilding the dome to make certain the end result is to the standard they want. Building is underway again and revised plans being submitted to achieve the revised objectives.
Don't believe me-check Saints website.

Now, just duck your head in shame, and swan off!
