It sounds like Scot Sinclair will sign soon as we have number 11 left free and Punch has just been allowed out on loan, massive shame as I think he was one of our best players last season, but oh well, Sinclair is young, with a lot of pace and will be a great signing and is great for 5m! COYR!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Punch did a great job for us but you must admit he never was consistently part of the set up over his 3 years. Trust in Poch I have a feeling he really knows what he's doing. Can't complain so far can we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sinclair won't sign. 100%. Punch wasnt in squad for wba game due to us already having preferred players.

Agree0 Disagree0

And that means he won't sign? While your predicting the future can I go ahead and get next weeks lottery numbers!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people have put two and two together and assumed because Punch has gone Sinclair comes in. Not sure, still think we are after Banega.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or punch has gone to palace to be closer to family and that's why he left.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big question why are there still tickets available for the Sunderland game? Any thoughts.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Big question"? DOH
Think you will find it is that time of year when people go on holiday so up-take of tickets just might be slowed done as a result. Realise it could be nice to get a little conspiracy theory going, but don't think there is any legs in it!

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a thought about the tickets again, sorry to keep on, but holidays or not with the incredible interest being aroused about our fabulous season to come you would just think it would have been an almost instant sell out. I think the problem could be the incredibly complicated way of getting them and if you want to get them on line costs £2. 50 extra. Just curious, no conspiracy theory!

Agree0 Disagree0

Or that sunderland sent tickets back so we have opened block 43 but this was only recent so will take longer and you can expect a big walk up crowd

I have a friend who works on the F I f a 14 development team, and we were talking about Saints' new partnership with EA and what that means; apparently a whole bunch of our players, especially youth players, will be included and get a ratings and potential boost. He mentioned Isgrove and Chambers particularly.

I know this means basically nothing in real life, but it's nice to get our club a bit of recognition now and again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes it Does mean sinclair won't sign. Saints were never in for him. We are after a creative mid. 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

The recognition from games like FIFA will help boost our teams awareness internationally, the higher our rating on FIFA, the more likely fans of football from abroad who play the game will follow us being a Premiership team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isgrove and Chambers have stepped up to the full team anyway haven't they, so would be included normaly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe StMary's will be there?

Puncheon has joined Palace on a season long loan. Official on Southampton website.

That must mean we have a replacement already?? sinclair?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Puncheon wasnt in squad against west brom due to not needing him bacause of competition for places. Ie do we need sinclair

Agree0 Disagree0

Family reasons

Puncheon has been loaned out to Crystal Palace, awful decision if we don't bring someone else in.

Mini-Saint

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have Isgrove and Rowe breaking through if we don't get someone.

Sinclair to get the number 11 shirt then and that will be our business done except for moving players on. Very strong looking squad COYR!

Saint IQ

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I doubt that will be business done. I think we may try and bring Sorensen in, he's a left footed centre back. Then we've covered every position. Fox will go.

I see Man utd are back in for shaw, isn't it funny how the so called big teams seem to suck the talent out of the smaller clubs. Where are these clubs academy's?
I hope if true cortese holds firm and says no! Especially as the fee is rumored to be £10million, just look at bale and how much he is worth now, and because we had to settle early we now get next to nothing for him when he's sold. How many times have we looked back over the years and said if only we had not sold. , well now is the chance to hold on to them and see where they take us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have billionaire owner and can afford to spend 36m in a transfer window and we may not be done yet! I'm pretty sure we can resist selling starts like Shaw for just 10m

break the bank to get Ross barkley in now while £20m may be enough. He'll be the biggest star in the prem in 2 years. Simply awesome power pace grit skill and shooting. Comparisons to Rooney are am insult

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Get real mate, that's like an everton fan saying let's get Luke Shaw. Not going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a great signing however not sure if there's 20 million left in the warchest for this transfer window but if i'm wrong which I hope I am then get him in!!

What is Manchester United doing taking an interest in Luke Shaw when he has signed a new deal recently? Can they lure him away despite the new contract? I don't think Luke will leave but can they do this?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You can do anything if you want. A contract is a legal document but as with any legal matter there is always a way to buy someone out of it if you are prepared to put your hand deeply in your pocket. All a load of nonsense anyway, Luke is a clever lad and knows he has already made it and has everything he ever dreamed of to look forward to with SFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Man Utd really have bid £10m for shaw I feel a bit embarrassed for them? Totally Clueless
And yes it is possible - but no it won't happen so relax Saints fans.

Odds on Sinclair signing for Southampton have been more then halved over night. He's been heavily linked by a plethora of papers for a £5 million deal. I anticipate that if this one has any legs to it, which I'm certain it does, that this deal will be wrapped up before the Sunderland game, though probably not with enough time to think about a debut. With West Brom seemingly having failed to secure him in loan, it looks as though we are the only remaining contenders for his signature.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would we need to sign him before Thursday evening for him to be eligible to play on Saturday?

Arsenal pay southampton £10k if the OX plays 20mins or more in a game. It's written in to his transfer clause.

Makes sense that he made a lot of subs appearances last year with wenger usually bringing him on the 71st min.

The catch was wenger never aloud for injury time and arsenal pay out over £200k last year and the year previous.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah I saw this. Disappointing for the payer as it can't be good for his development. Maybe we could sell this part of the contact back to them or just take him off their hands?

Agree0 Disagree0

This is just a form of appearance clause, what's 10k in this day and age, it makes a good story but if your are paying a player over £100k a week then spending another £10k to get him playing football for you makes perfect sense.
He started on Saturday but has been used as an impact sub quite a bit and so voila the story writes itself.
Give Arsenal a little credit!
And NC too ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, apparently Saints did have to send a demand to Arsenal to be sure that the injury time was credited toward the performance clause. Arsenal had apparently been thinking in terms of "20 minutes in a 90 minute game" and not taking injury time into account. That's why the story hit the papers.

We now have a big signing in each position now as Lovren 8.5m in defence, Wanyama 12.5m in DM, Ramirez 12m AM and Obsvaldo 15m FW! With our current team we really can have a great season, we've come a long way since league 1! COYR!

Mirror reporting Saints could be in for Scott Sinclair as West Brom's loan deal has stalled due to wanting a sale at the end.

This could have legs seeing as Punch looks to be off on loan to Palace and the no. 11 shirt is still vacant (could mean nothing but it is his number at City)

Would be dissipointed to see Puncheon leave but Scott Sinclair to replace him would be class?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rate Sinclair but gets injured a lot. If getting a winger we need someone who can take a challenge and not be out for weeks on end. If Poch has a team plan he wouldn't want a player than seems to be an injury liability, look at what's happened with the Ox and Theo at the Gunners.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only scored one goal in 2 years so not exactly prolific but then he has had nearly zero game time. Must be straining at the leash to get on the park. Good tricky player, sounds a good deal at the money. SIGN HIM. We can't have sentimental feelings for some of our heroes who have got us where we are, we have to not only stay in the Prem we need to push on. Look at the likes of Swansea and Norwich who have ambition and are not one of the "attractive" clubs, we have the potential to make to make the SOUTH COAST our own and would attract 10's of thousands more to support us. There is no competition within 60-70 miles and I think the most intelligent chairman in football knows this. The possibilities for our great football club are immense and almost scary. Only downside if we finish in the top 6 this season better start saving for your season ticket now, it's bounds to be a 4 figure number if we get into Europe.

Would be really disipointed to see Puncheon leave, but if it's for personal reasons then it would be understandable?
