Bristol city have confirmed on the football league website that Maynard will leave in January because he terminated talks over a new contract. Could we be in for him?

No thank you, not really better than existing forwards, we should be looking to get someone better than existing options.

So, with Jason Puncheon wanting to have a clean slate with the Saints and the lack of natural right wingers in the side currently who are fit to play, what do you guys think about giving him another chance?

I personally think we should, as he will now want to prove his critics wrong, thus hopefully giving some great performances in the second half of the season and solving our problem on the right side of the midfield. I thought it was a bit unfair and judgemental when he recieved some stick by the Saints fans everytime he touched the ball on the pitch, and maybe he does have some problems with his attitude.

But, maybe he has grown up a little with the time he spent with Ian Holloway at Blackpool, Kenny Jackett at Millwall and Neal Warnock at QPR, all of which were on loan, and seemingly impressing at both Blackpool and Millwall, with Kenny Jackett and Ian Holloway both admitting that they are following Punch and his situation with us.

It would be like a new signing, without having to pay any money, solving our problem on the right, and potentially allowing us to focus on signing a new striker in the January Transfer Window. Thoughts?

Respect your opinion on Puncheon but hope he's shown the door. He's not been doing great things at any of the clubs he's been to, reckon he just wants to keep the money rolling in, he's not as good as he obviously thinks he is, none of the other clubs he's been loaned to seem to want him, hope he's kicked off the bus once and for all. Not worth the trouble, Saints are better than him,far better.

Puncheon will never be a saints player in my eyes. He thought he was bigger than the club when we were in league one and now he can see we are on track to be in the premiership he wants back in. Get rid of him in January I say, I don't care who to or how much. There's no passion there so we need t get rid!

Time to move on; he's trouble with a capital "T" and will upset the bus

Show him the door. A sequence of events last January. He played quite well in the 2-0 cup win over Blackpool, then three days later he was absent through "illness" for the trip to Oldham which we won 6-0. At the next game (Notts County home 0-0) he played most of the match before being substituted. A week later at Tranmere he was not in the squad, on interview, Nigel said "his head was not right". That said to me he should never play for Saints again.
