Were not going to sign Wanyama! People are so easly convinced by small little things when there's loads of reasons why he wouldn't sign!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Give me the reasons then? Don't make an argument without providing evidence or analysis? Don't they teach you this in school?

Agree0 Disagree0

Loads of reasons why he WOULD sign too.

I've just read that wanyama has spoken, while on holiday in Kenya, that he only knows of saints interest in him by what he has read in the media and that the club haven't started negotiations with him yet. Even so far as saying that he doesn't even know if we've had an offer accepted. Seems like there is a lot of people fabricating the truth in here, just to agree terms? The player hasn't even heard we are interested, let alone looked at a contract!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wouldn't be an African Echo where you read that, would it?
The media will know very little about any signings Saints may make so nothing new here. I suspect we only have a week to wait before most of Saints business is concluded.

No saint farting, it was "goal" website. My point being that the player has come out and said he knows nothing of any offer, only interest. Which would suggest that all previous comments by tracing paper fans (like yourself) are untrue and simply that of conjecture and Chinese whispers. Makes you wonder how many others are as such.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you must be a child to call him saint farting. At a push you're 12 years old. Go worry about the new GCSE system you're going to get screwed over by.

Agree0 Disagree0

He knows about the deal. Just saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

You have just read about Wanyama on holiday in Kenya? Right-where was he yesterday? Must have hitched a ride in the Tardis.

Smoke and mirrors here lad, and the media are milking it for "persons" like you.

I do have a suspicion there could be a problem though behind this one. Sounds something like a player or agent trying to milk a deal and relying on other openings being available-maybe if other clubs have deals that fall through. Dangerous game to play with Cortese, especially as it would appear he has been negotiating with an alternative target himself.

Who reckons that as agents know we have some money to spend they are using us as a tool to generate interest from other clubs ie Wanyama a lot of papers saying he knows of our interest and a bids accepted then he knows nothing and is on holiday and no bid has been tabled. All done no doubt to try and flush arsenal out of the covers as they are so frightened of spending money I expect to see a moth epidemic when they do open their wallet!

I don't know if there is any truths in any of these runours regarding Wanyama but if Arsenal are in for him he is going to go there anyway because he wants Champion League football which Arsenal can give him. I can't see him coming to Saints.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well, he may miss the boat all together then, because I can't see Arsenal signing Fellaini and Wanyama!

If he/Celtic want to mess NC around, then they will find he has other options. Not so sure they do, in reality.

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd be a fool to chose Arsenal when he'd spend ages sitting on the bench and struggling for a top 4 finish.

Saints are going to sign a player. Between now & Aug 31st. Apart from Lovren signing this is the only true Saints rumour on here. So please stop posting wildly outrageous claims that all these top players from teams playing in European completions are going to come to us. By doing so you are making us look stupid {Ed016's Note - Thank you, a fan with some sense}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Then surely there would be no point in this site if we had to wait for an official signing before posting. end of the day this is a rumour site.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't understand your problem-both of you.
Saints are one of the sides in the Premiership who don't have to sell to bring in players, Cortese has the backing of the Trust to do so, the manager has said he wants to do so by July 1st (if possible), the club is notoriously secretive about transfer deals but we all know will be looking for quality additions to improve what we have. This site is about banter and its associate site is about rumours, so of course supporters start speculating-and so do other clubs sites on here who will not come anywhere near to Saints in this window in terms of expenditure. Why is it that Saints supporters are expected to be diffident, and to "know their place"?

Sorry guys, but we have a chairman who is very astute and ambitious, a manager who will be a revelation next season and a Trust that supports the "project". I don't think we will speculate about Rooney, Bale or Ronaldo but most Saints supporters are aware that the club is looking to add the last few pieces to a very competitive team and they will do so with the sort of quality signings that it needs. Because of the club doing things quietly it may increase the numbers of players we are linked with, but then what is the problem-Liverpool supporters have so far "signed up" 90% of Saints team and we don't hear comments about them looking stupid.
I recognise the media are too lazy to get away from their cosy spots in Notting Hill and report on little old Saints but I certainly don't see why our supporters should be expected to be obsequious. Just start to look at some of the other EPL clubs for next season, and there are very few that are in a stable, developing situation like Saints so the club will be attractive to quality players, of the right age and attitude.
The club is now showing real ambition. Don't see why the supporters should not be expected to do the same-and if it upsets some other clubs, tough!

I think one of the things people fail to notice is most the people we are linked to are very realistic. We are not being silly enough to link ourselves to Messi, Bale or Van Persie, we are being linked to players who perhaps top six sides may not go for. Every player in the world is not in the pipe lines to sign for Chelsea you know, despite how much they would love that to be the case. Plenty of players would come here for the first team football, the passion and the ambition the club has going forward. If you don't like it, don't come on this site, simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

We all get sucked in to the pre season hype, as long as we all remember it is only hype. or is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand their problem either, Saint Martin. Lovren came to us from CL qualifying Lyon. Naingollan and Wanyama are by no means certainties but you would have to be one helluva sceptic to say their is no interest at all.

Something is niggling me about all this Wanyamamama talk. I really don't think it'll happen. Besides do we want someone who doesn't really want to play for us? (which I totally understand)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think you are a saints fan either by the phrasing here. I don't know if it will happen or not but he hasn't exactly referred to the club in a negative manor. Even mentioned becoming a saint. I think he's a good player and probably would enjoy his football if he came here.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he will sign for us. other top clubs are interested, and although I believe saints would be a excellent place for a young player to develop, he has already said he would like cl football.

Atsuto Uchida (Japenese international) Right back. Who plays for Schalke 04. Could be good cover for clyne and even compete for 1st team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bit ambitious here maybe.

According to a lot of papers now the Wanyama deal is very nearly complete as he has quoted himself that a fee has been agreed. What makes me suspicious though is that if we were signing him would Cortese let him say anything until he had officially joined.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I smell fish. something is making me doubt this will go thru. I really don't think he wants to play for us but we are a good stepping stone for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Part of the problem is as a club we don't want to be just some stepping stone.
