How disappointing to hear Koeman rule Gallagher out of the first team squad for Spurs on the grounds of there being no room at the moment - and then to see Mayuka of all people still blagging a living in the training pictures.

I'm amazed that Alderweireld has returned to training. Even a minor shoulder dislocation usually means months out. Still, might as well flog him into the ground if he's going to be off in a few weeks anyway!

Really not confident of a result this weekend. With all the transfer talk and players popping up with quotes in the press about "seeing where they end up in the summer", there's that same end of season feeling that was in place during the run in last season, where players are just going through the motions and eyeing up their exit strategies.

Top four has gone, seventh looks like limit of their ambition and may by achieved even without winning another game, the attack has ground to a halt, yet the same under-performing players are picked every game. It's a shame that things are finishing with such a damp squib - potentially ending what has been an extremely positive season on a negative note.

So, Toby is desperate to play this weekend after such an injury, but players are just going through the motions and eyeing up their exit strategies?!
Trust you don't win the lottery this weekend-you will only be depressed it wasn't a week ago and you have missed a week's interest.
Secure European football in the next few games and I think you will see RoKo making more changes if the league position allows but he would be slaughtered if he did not play what would be judged his strongest line-up and we ended up outside of European football.

It's easy to feel bitter about all this speculation of another summer exodus but remember we won't be losing our manager, likewise apart from Schneiderlin, Alderweireld and probably Clyne our squad stays in tact. I cannot foresee us accepting any bids for Wanyama or anyone else unless they were astronomical numbers. The club can hardly prepare sufficiently for European competition alongside the Premier League without having the core of experienced top flight players we have stay. Yet again we are getting sucked into the media frenzy of speculation before the season has even ended, let's just support the team for the rest of this season and have the belief that we will be a stronger outfit for next season.

Well I will wait and see on that, personally I can only see it going one way with the transfers. the likes of lallana, schneiderlin Shaw etc grew through the leagues, so had the chance to make mistakes and grow and learn. I can't see (unfortunately) academy players being given that chance again. I know the ambition of the club requires more than that but. we have bought players in that in turn have kept the academy players out of the 1st team or chances limited. I honestly think days of 50% academy are gone . Bertrand and mane have been in our top performers I know but realistically transfers out could be devastating this year if the current transfer policy is continued through the summer. if we want to push on the money has to be there and we have to buy top of their game players at top whack. which were not going to do, so we keep buying half arsed players waiting for one to set the premier league alight? Never going to happen at the moment we are a secure premier league team, Europe would be too soon and relegation is no threat so enjoy while we can

Rayzer-you sound like a politician, ignoring the facts to make your point.

Targett, JWP, Reed. Have they not played in the first team this season?

Yes, we will see more of them and others but you can only expect so much blooding of academy players within a radically re-built squad.
