Just seen the Villa highlights and to be honest we had 3 clear chances where we should've scored and weren't given an obvious penalty, so I think if we were clinical and got the ref's decision on the pen, it would've been a 4-0 win, but oh well we have the highest average percentage in the league now which can only be a good thing and is a good platform to build on for next season, let's hope we can dent Everton's top 4 hopes, with a 2-0 saints win I hope, Lambert getting the first and Gallagher coming on to get the second, COYR!

Agree with the posters below - bored of these rumours now so let's make some up. If editors of other sites read this then post as well. May be if we get enough people saying it then it can come true.

Here goes.

Walcott to Saints as he wants to play with Lallana
Cahill to form a rock with Lovern
Sturridge worried about strikers coming in and so wants first team action at Saints
Cleverly looking for fresh start with Saints
Hart wants out at City and is to join Saints English revolution

And any more we can think of.

Come on let's do it. Plant these seeds. COYR

cleverly who is way overrated

Puddletown,

it may be in jest but I would like to see Theo back in a Saints shirt, not sure about Cleverly though?

Cavani wants to join his friend Ramirez at saints

Modric also wants to join his pal Dejan after winning the CL with RM so they can play more tennis, Bale also told him he should join and said he will come back when his contract ends at RM

Shaw would be a fool to go to united at the moment with all the turmoil and the hangers on running the club, i'm disgusted at the way moyes was sacked. Saints havnt mention sacking poch and our results havnt been that great of late. You've got to hand it to Mourinho with all the games Chelsea have played. Let's hope saints can keep the squad together.

why are people not surprised that utd players got moyes sacked that is typical of player power it happened before and it will happen again some players are not as good as they think they are

Those players who didn't put the effort for moyes should be ashamed hope they get their just reward. Couldn't see that happening with saints squad.

Anybody who's read Jamie Jacksons article in the Guardian about Shaw leaving and is able to pull it apart will realise that this is everything wrong with modern football transfer journalism. No sources. No references. No quotes. No proof of any kind of his information. The only information he uses to prop up his arguments come from other articles - also written by him. It's like Henry Kissinger but with Football. The rumours about Shaw remind me of with Chelsea last year. One rumour spurs another. Soon they spur more and more and more. It's self perpetuating and the only genuine information gets drowned in a sea of speculation, dot-connecting and outright misinformation. I'm of the opinion that Shaw probably will leave. Probably this summer as well. Journos everywhere will smile with vindication. But it's only on the virtue that, with such a saturation of rumours, someone has to be right eventually. Maybe he goes to Liverpool, or Chelsea, or United, or City, or Madrid, or maybe the least commented upon, maybe he stays? Who can say, but I for one, with a United supporting brother and who follows the transfer news vociferously, am absolutely sick of the amount of transfer malarkey around about our players. It's non-stop, there is literally a new article every single day.

When it's posted on the OS, or on the Beeb, then I'll be 100% on any news. Until then, considering there is absolutely no proof or review of any of this 'news' I'll disregard the lot as equally as I would disregard when someone says 'watch this space' or 'trust me I have a friend on the inside'.

I know this is kind of an ironic thing to post on a rumours site, but it's just gotten so infuriating lately. Rant over.

Couldn't agree with you more. We've stifled a lot of journalists this season, a number of who I remember had us touted for another relegation dogfight. Since we've outperformed to their expectations, they're determined to reassure the 7 teams above us that this is just an anomaly, and it will be stopped when we sell all the players in the summer. It was the same when Newcastle finished 5th two seasons ago above Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool.

Agreed. It's as though the Journo's can't believe that Shaw (and others) will stay. Going back we went through the same thing with Le Tiss, but the media was nowhere as bad back in the day.

It's a hugely important Summer ahead for Saints that will signal either the end of the dream, or that Katharina Liebher still intends to honour her farther's wishes.

Great post TJ. Getting sick of these journalists assuming that young players like Shaw want to move to a so called 'bigger club' instead of playing for a club where they grew up, learnt their trade and have been given a chance to play premiership football week in week out (with their mates!) with a top manager eventually resulting in them getting picked for England. I just can't see Shaw going to a manger-less Utd. HE WILL go to Chelsea one day, I have accepted that, but if the club can just outright ignore any offers for him now and he keeps on improving how much will we be able to get for him in say 2 seasons time? This summer is massive for us. If we can bring in 3-4 quality signings there is no reason we can't make a push for Europe and even Top 4 next season. I think it was a big turning point when Roy picked the lads for England. I means that players like Shaw won't feel they have to move to a bigger club to get selected for the national team and that is very important to us.

In relation to TJ's post, totally agree, this media amplification becomes a social construction. I'm hoping that we retain our best players, Shaw included.

Interesting posts, and I sympathize completely. Just one small point, the internet and football sites have grown immensely since Le Tiss day, when they were virtually non existent. Most of the ones on the net now are small time, have no paid staff, and just use young people, mostly university students to write articles with no substance to them. Its maddening, but there's not a lot we can do about it. It has got worse lately with even the tabloid press getting in on the act. martin Samuel wrote a piece completely misinterpreting the FFP regulations for his own ends, his theme being that Saints were doomed to sell all their best players because they could not grown the team. Sheer nonsense, Saints are well run and can find the money for signings from tv rights plus the allowed 45 million euro injection of cash from the owner allowed by the rules. Fingers crossed no one leaves that is part of the current first team match day squad bar Guly who will be released, along with fringe players whose contracts are coming to an end.
