Do you reckon we might sign another keeper? I like Boruc but remember the beginning of last season when none of our GK played well.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Will Britt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we need a proven prem GK incase Boruc gets injured or something

Agree0 Disagree0

Fraser Forster?

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Gordon on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazzaniga and Davis are good cover. It's worth looking into getting new players to cover but it's not essential right now as we have good enough.

Take Fulham as an example, their back up is Stockdale, I'd argue he is about the standard of Kelvin or Gazzaniga in goal and Fulham aren't a bad side with Stockdale in goal. Difference is that Kelvin is a leader as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the above poster, Kelvin and Gazziniga are good enough cover, also Boruc is a very good keeper who inspires so much confidence in the defence.

Why does every other club wonder where SFC are getting this money from?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Or the blistering price 10m is for nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because these tend to be people with big club mentality who have no concept of what happens outside the top 4 because they are 'small clubs'. The rest just haven't kept up to date. No one does their research anymore.

What's still missing? To complete are team? Thoughts!
Ganso paulo henrique from Sao paulo
23 year old attacking midfielder left footed 10m has not got he's first full cap for brazil yet but when he dose watch the price sky rocket! Amazing player naymar without the hype!and the price tag!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hes not neymar, he doesn't have blistering pace

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a very different player to Neymar, but he's a quality player, would love to sign him

Hey ed,

i feel as though ward prowse is almost on par with Shaw as a prospect. His technical ability is outstanding for a man of 18. Possibly the brightest English prospect for a midfield role.

what is ed001's thoughts?

saintg

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I like JWP, alongside Liverpool's Rossiter, he is the top English youth prospect I have seen. Rossiter is on a par with Gerrard at his age, so that gives you an idea of how highly I rate them. My only worry for him is that he might struggle for first team football, with Southampton having a strong group of youngish mids already in place. Maybe the talk about letting Cork go might need to be true for his sake.}

Ross Barkley. 19. Mustard

Agree0 Disagree0

Respect to Ed001's knowledge, again, but hope Cork doesn't go yet and, at the moment at least, I think it's the rest of our midfield who need to worry about first team football and not JWP!

Agree0 Disagree0

JWP has started 2 in 2 with no midfield or attacking injuries of note. I think that says something about how involved he will be in the first team.

Agree0 Disagree0

JWP was fantastic yesterday, I must admit I was insanely impressed with his passing from dead ball situations, I think he still lacks certain elements to his game but give him a season and I think he will be a contender for England.

Adam and jay-rod look like the weak links in the squad
Adam had some moments of his old form? But all in all just not quite making the grade not for we're we want the club to be moving forward? as for jay! Think he's got as good as he's going to again not good anough if we want to aim for Europe!
Chambers looks good as did shaw! but prowse looks like something special!! One to watch?full England call not to far away! Me thinks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You obviously missed Jay's extremely marginal offside goal (great run and class finish) and ridiculous to make such assessments after 2 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saint Gazza, I agree entirely! I really don't understand why Jay is getting a hard time on here, he had a reasonable game yesterday, far better than several players. Lallana, was terrible in the first half but livened up a bit in the second, unfortunately he was taken off when he actually looked like he may be useful! Personally I think someone else should take the captaincy from him and let him focus on his game, we all know he has the quality, he just needs to get in the right mind frame. More concerning for me, Morgan seemed to be playing much further forward and leaving Wanyama a bit exposed in the middle. Against a remotely better team we would be destroyed if we play these tactics. As such Morgan was disappointing, but I think that was down to MoPo. Lambert looked ok, his passing was dreadful though. Osvaldo looks as though he could do some real damage! Sorry for the long-winded post, just my opinions on yesterday! Oh it also kills me to say, [and I really don't rate Lee Mason] but neither of the two shouts were penalties in my opinion!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've not rated j-rod since he came here tbh. I think his pace and movement is good but I also think that his finishing is sub-standard. while he did score goals some of the shots before where so weak. take the liverpool goal he had to have to attempts after a poor first shot

Agree0 Disagree0

When Adam got taken off I thought he looked the most likely person to unlock their defence as some of his touches were pure class.

Still need that creative midfielder to thred the killer passes though cortinho would have been perfect?
70. /. Of the play and still struggling to score from open play? We still need that xfactor player to open up defences!
Why we let punch go without bringing someone in first makes no sence?
Let's hope Mopo got something up his sleeve!!
Would have played Osvaldo over jay! From the start!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jay had one good moment in that game that was falsely ruled offside but apart from that he was very poor. A shame because I thought he'd build on his progress last season straight away. Oh well, hopefully he'll get back into the swing of things soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have spent well but the rookie errors are still there. We were absolutely awful marking from set plays.

I think we do lack that little cutting edge that makes a great team at the moment. We play great build up but when the opponents try to shut up shop we lack that ball to set the right man in to score. Perhaps it's an issue with youth and Osvaldo may be the cure but we will have to wait and see. But I would love to see another attacking midfielder join who we know has the through ball capabilities.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramirez is the solution, we need to give him more game time and he will be key to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree we should have played Osvaldo over Rodriguez and also agree with the Ramirez post

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally disagree. Oswaldo would have been sent off for a start. He did very little - very deflating. Jay actually scored a very good goal but for the flag. on balance Saints should have won.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy who said osvaldo should hae been sent off, the first challange was a simple collision which diakite made a meal of, furthermore when he can on osvaldo had pace power and was clever with his use of the ball. If J-Rod had finished one of his 3 clear chances would have been game over. Put osvaldo in his place and I imagine he would have converted one or two of this opertunities.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that Coutinho would have been perfect but don't 100% agree with anything said above. Huh, football fans eh? S'pose I should feel happy about being disappointed at dropping 2 points!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the above post, Osvaldo in Rodriguez's place, he showed us signs of the good things to come when he came on and linked up well with lallana and Ramirez. Ward-Prowse was outstanding to

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly Osvaldo probably should have been sent off, [thank god he wasnt] but personally I think Jay Rod is a very handy player, JWP did phenomenally well
but Lallana has been off the boil since we got into the prem, Gaston hasn't found his feet, Punch was extremely inconsistent, Guly is the same, personally I think out of all the attacking midfielders we have him and JWP look heads and shoulders above the rest.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really don't rate j-rod find his finishing to be at a very poor standard

Agree0 Disagree0

I was very pleased to see how Osvaldo made quite a few chances for other people on Saturday, the future is bright people.
Even if we have only won one out of the last six.

A disappointing result but there were a few positives to take from it:

Osvaldo; he didn't have too much to do, but he looked a real class act, with great ball control and vision. Looks like he'll be playing the inside forward role just off Lambert.

Clyne; Back to fitness, bit worrying to see Shaw go off but it only looked like a precaution, given his knock.

Style of play; anyone who was a regular watcher of the team last season can tell you that we simply weren't playing a EPL style this time last season. Now, I think we're playing some of the most attractive attacking football in the league.

And finally, James Ward-Prowse; I don't know about you, but I'm more excited about this guy then Shaw. He has amazing ball control, fantastic passing and vision, can get stuck in, is completely unfazed by playing at this level and is fantastic at set pieces. Best part, he's only 18. This guy is going to be a sure thing for the England team in 2-3 years, maybe sooner. What a player he's going to be, like a young Gascoigne.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Osvaldo did get a bit over excited at one point. But showed he has got talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree adam is just not the player he was 15 months ago? And I think he knows it! And Jay-rod is not up to the job? Think he's come as far as he's going to?

Agree0 Disagree0

James ward prowse did his best impression of learning the green cross code today, stop look listen is it safe to cross oh bugger he's marked now. I will pass it sideways or backwards. Needs to think faster and move with the ball a bit more. Potential but will have to learn quickly.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was great to see Osvaldo so eager to get involved and make his mark. showed some sparks of skill and think after a few more games he'll really have integrated himself into the team. Thought Lambert was slightly off the pace today but he was still unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Still a points a point and we're certainly showing that we're going to be a difficult team to play against so definite positives to move forward with!

I know I can't be the only one who thinks this, but I don't think Lallana is up to the standard for a first team spot. Don't get me wrong, I love him for the loyalty and service he has shown to the club but I think Ward-Prowse and Ramirez are better options. I think he'd be bettered served coming off the bench in the last 20-30 minutes of the game, where his flair and pace can wreak havoc with tired defenders. I do think Poch already has these thoughts, and with Osvaldo signing I can see us weaning Lallana out and using Ward-Prowse more, with Osvaldo playing on the right as an inside forward. Just my thoughts on this, any one have anything to add?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think your mad. Lallana is one of our best players!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lallana and Rodriguez are squad players. I think the future should see Ramirez cutting inside from the right, Ward-Prowse playing as the most advance central midfielder/AMC and someone with a bit of pace attacking from the left. Perhaps Victor Moses will be available now Chelsea own half the world's attacking midfielders. Maybe Omar Rowe is close to being ready to step up.

Osvaldo's going to take over from Lambert soon. No-one wants to acknowledge it, but he'll be like Norwich's "talisman" Grant Holt - back in the Championship next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree. He's a good squadie but he shouldn't automatically be in first team. His only flaw really is that he tries to do to much and ends up giving away possession. If they could train that out of him then maybe, but right now with our high pressing, losing possession so cheaply ends up punishing with critical counter attacks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert won't be back to championship next season, he's better than Holt

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought the 'Lallana and Rodrigues are squad players' was an honest and insightful post until the last 6 words. C'mon mate, they're are loads of Prem clubs who would snap our hands off for Rickie. Btw, I wish people would put names to their posts to make responding easier.

Bit gutted we didn't get the full 3 points today, we need to take our chances and wenhad 17 attempts on goal. Gaston looked incredible in his link up play wity osvaldo today. Late goals is becoming a good habit COYR!
