"clubcall" have just reported that coughino has said he's not for sale to anyone! Schneiders departure is paving the way for him to cement his place in the inter team.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Does that mean this saga of rumours is over? NOPE.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah but Inter want the money. They want to buy Paulinho but need more cash!

Agree4 Disagree0

Good job we aren't after coughino then isn't it!

Meanwhile it's reported that Coutinho's agent was in Southampton yesterday.

Agree3 Disagree1

Yh sheiders ain't going nowhere

Happy with recent form but o so many draws, I wonder what could have been if we had Sharp to come off the bench, could of turned some of those draws into wins.

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Probably very little difference. What do you expect Sharp to do? I mean I doubt he'd pop in any more goals than Rodriguez if he was playing in his role...

Agree4 Disagree5

He always seems to be in the right place to score, doing well for forest

Agree4 Disagree3

I agree with the original post, Sharp is a proven goal scorer and personally I think he could cut it in the premier league - which Rodriguez clearly can't.

Agree4 Disagree4

Hmmmm......nice thought.....but we can only have 11 men on the field at any one time!!

Agree1 Disagree1

I think we are yet to see the best from j.rod I think the new manager will get the best out of him.

Agree2 Disagree0

When will you people accept that Sharp is not coming back! Get over it.

Agree1 Disagree3

at no time has anyone said Sharp is coming back, I was just interested in other peoples opinions. Chill

Southampton are not as big a club as Liverpool. FACT.
Ramirez and Forren were not wanted at Anfield and that is why they ended up at Southampton.
Now I am not saying they are bad players I am simply stating facts.
All of a sudden you Southampton fans seem to think you have more pulling power than the mighty Reds. But you don't!
If Liverpool are actually interested in signing Coutinho do you honestly think you have a chance?
The fact that most of you Saints fans seem to think he would choose Southampton over Mersyside is laughable.
Southampton should concentrate on establishing themselves as a Premier League club before they start attempting to think of themselves as one of the big boys.

Believable12 Unbelievable19

Liverpool are a spent force going to the same way as Aston Villa. The thing about history is you write new ones every day!

Agree15 Disagree8

We have are financially stronger than Liverpool...

Agree12 Disagree3

Firstly, Liverpool arent one of the big boys any more FACT, secondly the fact that we have jealous scousers commenting on our banter page means we must be making waves, COYR!

Agree16 Disagree6

Haha your a joke, mate we can out bid you anyday and liverpool isn't a catch anymore

Agree14 Disagree5

"Calm down"calm down" big boy!!
If this is the case that Southampton FC are a little club why get so upset?

Agree11 Disagree1

If a player wants game time then surely depending on the position saints would be better. Ramirez had a deal agreed with tottenham if I remember correctly which we made a better one. If liverpooles evaluation of the player is considerably less than our bid and/or we offer higher wages then the player will come to us.

Agree10 Disagree1

To survive you have to progress....simple as that. You buy the best palyers you can from the resources you can afford. Are you suggesting we have to wait in a queue to pick up players Liverpool don't want?

Agree9 Disagree1

Somebody is obviously getting their knickers in a twist

Agree8 Disagree1

Childish!
Simples mate-you don't have enough money to compete. You were reckless spending silly money on useless players and now your owners are closing their wallets.

Don't look in Harrods windows if you have to shop in Aldi!

Agree10 Disagree4

What a ridiculas, arrogant, deluded statement that is!! Liverpool are just a mid table average club these days FACT!! LOL

Agree9 Disagree5

Certainly agree with your last sentence - but the rest is typical 'big-boy-bravado' - in football, as with most other things money talks and those with the biggest wallets talk loudest but if you ain't got no money, you ain't got no voice - bit like Liverpool

Agree8 Disagree4

I agree that LFC is a bigger club than ours, but we are the richer club.
We have bid 4 m euros more than you for coutinho which his club have accepted.
He will play every game here whereas at your club he probably will not.
The same goes for Forren, and I believe that these players would prefer to be playing and not sat on the bench.
That, my friend is pulling power itself.
Our chairman wants CL football now within 3 years so ...... Dare I say that within 20 years we will be as big as your lot if not bigger.

Agree9 Disagree5

A. The fact you feel the necessity to come onto the Southampton rumours site to throw your toys out the pram shows what a set of bitter football fans you are.
B. Whilst we aren't as much of an established club as you, we still rank 14th on the all-time Premiership standings so I think that counts for something doesn't it?
C. Just because we all willing to outbid you on players doesn't mean that your club were never interested in them too and so it's "unbelievable" to think they would ever want to come here, especially since we can offer them more playing time
D. Next time you come onto our page ranting, check your facts out first, we are already an established premiership club historically, and so we have just as strong a drawing power as you.

C.O.Y.R.

Agree5 Disagree2

I don't think any Saints fan believes we are bigger than Liverpool, and if you didn't want Ramirez then putting in a bid for him was a bit stupid. Forren was clearly interesting Liverpool, otherwise you wouldn't have wanted him on trial [which didn't happen because Saints jumped in and made him a definative offer]. From what I understand you have made an offer for Coutinho but are unable or unwilling to match our offer.

Our fans are excited about the future and the fact we are now in a position to compete for good players, both financially and positionally. Southampton and Cortese have set out an ambitious plan which has worked well for us so far and if we are getting confident or excited about the future, I think we have every reason too.

Agree9 Disagree2

Liverpool have not won the league since when ? 1980's . yeah your a really big club lol

Agree7 Disagree4

I like Aldi.
The meat section is fantastic and the ad hoc non food offers are always worth looking at.
Don't knock it!

Agree6 Disagree3

No I guess Your right why would you want ramirez or coutinho you have henderson and downing

Agree6 Disagree4

You fans are so deluded: "In 20 years we'll be as big as Liverpool" "Liverpool are going the same way as Aston Villa" "We'll be in the CL in 3 years!" "We are going to sign Jose Callejon because our manager is good friends with Mourinho" that's my favourite one, like a player would swap the Bernabeu for Saint Mary's. I have some news for you, he's never even heard of Southampton. Neither has Coutinho so to think he's leaving Inter to join you is not only seriously deluded its embarrassing.

Agree4 Disagree6

Liverpool are a big club and are bigger than us and better at the moment, but pretend you didn't want those players because you did, it's just we're on the up and exciting place to be

Agree2 Disagree1

Liverpool are now a mid table club. After Dalglish's ridiculous spending they have to be a bit wiser now. Southampton are financially sound on the other hand. Southampton may not as it stands be a bigger club, but that doesn't mean other players and coaches don't recognise our potential. That is why players are picking Saints over liverpool. Because in 5 years time Liverpool will still be sitting in mid table, and southampton will be playing for Europe. That's the problem with Liverpool, too busy looking back. Southampton on the other hand are always looking forward.

- TJ

Agree6 Disagree6

If players went to clubs based on their position in the DFL (deluded fan league) Liverpool could now nick Newcastle's signings.

Agree1 Disagree1

He must be right if he said FACT in capitals.
Truth is liverpool are always also rans these days and yes they are a bigger club but they are on the decline since their glory days and we are on the up gettin stronger every year and its good that we are looking at the same players as them

Agree3 Disagree2

That hilarious moment when Liverpool fans finally realise they're actually much worse then Everton. Oh you deluded Liverpool fans, you make even Celtics fans look realistic.

- TJ

Agree4 Disagree4

FACT - Southampton are more ambitious than Liverpool

FACT - Southampton are richer and better run than Liverpool

FACT - Southampton is a very exciting place to be as a fan and as a player

FACT - Liverpool fans can only reflect on the 80's and and look bitterly at Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and now the likes of Tottenham and Southampton too.

FACT - within 5 years Southampton will be a bigger club and higher up the league than Liverpool

Agree5 Disagree6

Liverpool have a better manager, better players, have the better youngsters, play the better football, are in a better position in the League, have a better stadium, better fans, are in Europe, have a better reputation, and are just generally the better club in almost every single department. To say you will overtake us in a next few years is just a silly statement to make as there is absolutely zero evidence of this even beginning to happen. I mean, when did you last even win a major trophy?? 1976 FA Cup and that's it! No wonder you don't look back, not much to look back on.

Agree4 Disagree6

Always had a soft spot for Liverpool. In the 1980s they were without doubt a force.
Yes you are a bigger club than ours. Yes, the name of Liverpool is worth more than ours at the moment.
But.
To come on here and shouting off absolute drivel makes you sound sad and deluded.
We do have more money owing to the legacy of mr Liebherr and owing to some ridiculous spending by Liverpool we are able to look at some interesting targets.

Agree5 Disagree0

Coutinho has mentioned Southampton so he's clearly heard of it. As far as the size of the two clubs is concerned... Do we really need to argue about it? It's not like at this point it matters. He will go wherever he goes if he leaves Inter at all. Calm down... JESUS!

Agree2 Disagree0

Liverpool fan here. The original poster shouldn't have showed the disrespect to Southampton that he did because it makes us all look really arrogant when a lot of us aren't like that. However the replies from Southampton fans are baffling. You call us deluded, yet anyone that reads these replies would laugh their heads off. CL in 3 years? Bigger club than Liverpool in 5 years? Really?

Also, you say we only have the 80's to look back on. I seem to remember a certain trophy we won in 2005 when we beat Milan in the final, not to mention the number of times we have won FA cups, League cups, UEFA cups etc in the period between the 80s and now.

You should think before saying such deluded nonsense, as it just makes you look like fools. Also, just out of interest, do Southampton actually have anything to look back on?

Agree4 Disagree3

Better manager- debatable, I don't see Brendan Rogers being backed by Pep or Jose... Better fans- matter of opinion but let's face it your not setting a good example coming on to our page slagging off our club... Better position in the league- granted but if you look at preseason predictions your under performing and we're doing better than expected... Better reputation- again matter of opinion you have a larger following thanks to your history that's about it. Larger stadium- but not as nice as st. Mary's and we will expand! In Europe- again having suffered financial problems before we haven't challenged for Europe but I can see that in the next year or so. Better youngsters- you having a laugh?!? Our academy one of the best in the country developing some of the best players in the league! Not only that we have brought in a manager who will grow this more! No one is arguing with you that Liverpool is a bigger club steeped in that much history you should be! But you are consistent underachievers! For such a big club you only beat us 1-0 and I can see us over turning that in our next game! We are ambitious looking at the players we are but this is exciting times for southampton! Gone are the days of Rupert Lowe and instant relegation battles. We will continue to grow and will continue to compete for stronger player as we have the money to do it! Get used to it mate saints are here to stay so I suggest you go concentrate on your own club cause we're going to be competing for some time! COYR {Ed001's Note - just felt I should point out that Brendan Rodgers is very highly rated by both Pep and Jose, not sure where you got the thing about him not being backed by them? Rodgers has worked with Jose (who recommended him as management material in the first place), and spent a lot of time in Spain and Barcelona learning the Spanish coaching methods. Including a lot of time working with Pep.}

Agree4 Disagree0

Saints have an FA cup trophy and are planning to push up and win something in the years ahead. Honestly though I think this is frustrating. Why are status' like this even aloud to be posted? I mean it's obvious it's just going to break out into silly quarrels.

Agree3 Disagree0

On the matter of the Academy you can't put down Southampton's. We produced Walcott, Chamberlain and Bale all who are very strong Premiership players along with several others dotted about.

Liverpool are currently a bigger club. Whether or not that will change in the future only time will tell. Now can we please put this to bed, this is supposed to be a rumours site not a site for clubs to bash each other. {Ed025's Note - well said mate..

Agree6 Disagree0

I'm a saints fan and Liverpool are a bigger club than us regardless of how financially stable we are and how good our academy is. I do not no how you could argue otherwise. It would take us decades to get the amount of trophies they won. So many bites on this post its unreal

Agree2 Disagree0

I hardly think Liverpool are "bigboys" anymore, in the 1980's yes, not now, a mid table team at best - your tradition has established you as a team, but times change, sounds like a hint of denial 1) Liverpool are yesterday's news 2) Saints are today's news - keep smiling though, and adapt to change.

Agree1 Disagree1

The difference between Liverpool and you lot is we won't be held to ransom and overpaying for players. HullRED

Agree0 Disagree2

You mean like Carroll?

Agree1 Disagree0

So spending £35m on that huge flop Andy Carroll isn't overpaying for players? Lol cheers for the laugh mate.

1. Luke shaw isn't going to Barca, they have jordi alba who is young and prob the best in the world (if Counting Lahm as a right back)

2. Coutinho is signing tomorrow medical book with Southampton Solent university

3. Jason Puncheon shouldn't be dropped I have watched every game this season and has been our best player along side clyne

4. You are deluded if you think signing Butland is a bad idea, englands number two, 20 years old and only for £3.5m

5. Callejon, Villa and olsvaldo is rubbish but would be unbelievable!

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Puncheon and Shaw have been great as has Rickie but our best two players season to date have been Spider and Cork ... rock solid in midfield.
Gaston big disappointment so far but I think he will come right ... he needs Lallana otherwise he tries to do too much himself and ends up giving it away.

Agree3 Disagree5

Butland is not England's real number 2. Ben Foster is better as is Ruddy. Really he's over rated by the FA and the tabloids have bigged him up to sound better than he is.

Agree4 Disagree1

I don't think anyone is particularly slating Butland, but simply stating we have a young, talented, yet inexperienced keeper in Gazzinega, so another one is pointless. Gazzinega will be a good keeper, like Butland with a few years experience so not much point splashing unneccessary cash when it can be used elsewhere in the team.

Agree3 Disagree1

But £3.5m is a bargain for potential next England keeper. Gazziniga is too dodgey. Plus he's not English.

Agree2 Disagree3

I'd rather Saints took my nan on trial than sign Butland no matter how much he cost.

Agree3 Disagree2

Great news about Adam Lallana being back in training, can't wait to see him Gaston and Shaw changing our shape. Be able to switch styles much more easily. Really feel that the team will start playing really quick football under MP and lets face it we have a really young fit squad. Exciting times are coming with the new manager, keep up what we did against Everton in the first half for 90 minutes and very few sides will be able to live with us. A couple of shrewd signings will make us the envy of many in the premier league. Really feel that NC has total ambition for us and he has and will put his money where his mouth is. Wish I had a crystal ball to see our league position 1 year from now. Gate attendances after the stadium expansion of over 40,000 will be common place bringing back fans who used to support us from outside the area. A sort of mini united feel. Great feelings about the future and believe me us fans who have stuck with the really bad times deserve it. Just be nice to have the tv pundits and media accept that we are a proper premier league team and not always explain our good results as an off day for whoever we are playing.
