There really is no point trying to double guess what is going on, NC is the master of 'smokescreen and bluff'.

I read that Wanyama is 'in talks' with Southampton. I don't see the point in signing him, I think other positions are more important to fill but that is just my opinion. Time will tell chaps, one thing is for sure, the future is red and white (hopefully with stripes)! COYR!

If we make good offers for players and they demand more then they are not right for the club, we don't want players saying Southampton would be my last club to go to.
We need 3-4 players in asap if we are to finosh in the top half of the table, Tony

Wanyammas agent is in southampton. hopefully with his sensible demands head on.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The way I see this is Wanyama to saints and chaplow or ward-prowse to celtic. I can also see Hooper coming as well. Maybe this is a smoke screen by cortese to get hooper.

Do we really need a DM? We have Cork Shneiderlin, Davies and Prowse who can all play their so I'm not sure we need Wanyma or Nainlagon however either would be a quality addition, I don't really see it as a priority position.

Victor wanyamahas snubbed the latest deal Southampton have offered him. While the bid was accepted he said
"the deal was not right for me and my agent" do you think we will sign him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No, his agent will make ridiculous demands for his fee and it seems Wanyama wants a ridiculous wage from sources. I suspect Cortese is trying to be reasonable which just makes deals impossible with certain people. The thing is the people he is harming most with this snubbing is probably Celtic because I'm not sure that anyone else will come in at such a price for him.

I didn't realize we were after signing Wanyamas' agent. What position does he play?

^ made me chuckle

Whatever happened to just wanting to play football for the sheer love of it! {Ed003's Note - £££££'s}

just seen saints have wanyama at st marys trying to agree a deal for 12.5 million (a web site ), i'm not sure he's what we need but is a utility player capable of playing in defence and midfeild wich will be handy, I would imagine there's a couple of noses put out of joint in the squad tho, whos going to be dropped, davis? cork? or are we selling morgan?

st stuie

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How do you this? please tell me its true and ill be honest with you. I think we will play 433 next season with cork, spider and wanyama being the main players. but JWP and Davies being the players that will come on game to game to give spider, cork and wanyama a rest because of the way MoPo plays

Agree0 Disagree0

Chaplow is likely to leave, Ward-Prowse may depart for a loan. I think it is likely the main rotation for us in that position next season will be Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis and Wanyama if signed. I can't see us letting Cork, Schneiderlin or Davis go this summer as Cork and Schneiderlin are a great young partnership and Davis provides strong options and some experience in the camp. Remember he can also play on the Right.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they call it 'strength in depth' or 'squad rotation'?!

Agree0 Disagree0

St stuie, the clue is in your own post-SQUAD!

It is obvious the squad does need strengthening, you need to rotate players a lot more than Saints were able to last season if you are pushing for top 6 and cup progress.

The home game against WBA was not missed by MP, he clearly noted that there is a need for a bit more physicality in front of the back 4 for certain games.

Apparently saints, Fulham and crystal palace are interested in Yohan Mollo who is looking for a move to England.

Interesting twitter post from Nainngolan, citing a translation problem. could be coming after all

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was just some kid asking why we were last choice. I wouldn't read into it

Radja Nainggolan has stated on his official Twitter account that there was a translation problem with regards to him saying that Southampton is his last choice.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Does he say what the translation problem was or what he meant? As I assume his english is pretty basic or at least as good as my belgiun :P If he doesn't want to come he should say so. if we are his least favoured club at least be tactful about it or may no comment what so ever

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at the interview he basically saying he's not sure if he can get a better club and improve his international chances.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on people you don't honestly think that saints are more attractive than those two big Italian clubs do you? You can't blame the fella for putting saints as his last choice as i'm sure any decant player would do the same thing as Southampton is not exactly a stella club is it no offence.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the mis-translation thing is the fact that somehow the papers got the impression and kept saying that Southampton were literally the last club he would choose behind teams like Torquay. I think he is perfectly allowed to prefer a top Serie A side to us if he has offers from them.

Despite reports, Southampton Fc never offered Radja Naingolan a contract, just the player trying to start a bidding war

Potential Southampton target Verd has signed a 4 year deal with Real Betis.

Good, that puts an end to that one then. Not sure he fits in with the mould.

In NC we trust he will sign the players that want to be part of our project and not just want the money. All money grabbers can do one as your not welcome at this great football club. We want players who want to wear there hearts on the shirt sleeves and not in their bank accounts! COYRs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

True that mate, Wanyama doesn't seem to fit 'the southampton way'. Cortese will move on to different targets now for sure. Wanyamas loss especially if he goes to Cardiff or Turkey, ( well maybe not a loss in his bank balance but in footballing terms it will be)
