West brom are going in for Danny Inge we should definetly try and sign him as well IMO any1 agree?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes totally agree shame it will never happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it a shame? He's had half a good season, who know's if he can continue it or do it a division higher, it's a massive risk to get him at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

Buying Rodriguez was a massive risk, at the time, for the money he cost, but at least Ings has played a lot more games and scored a number of goals. Rodriguez has proved to be a superb signing, and we'd make a profit when we sell him, or he'd stay with us for years and the fee would, as some say, pay itself off.
West Brom's move for Ings would be ok. Perhaps Saints would buy him off West Brom in summer if (if) they got relegated. Or, jump in now with a similar bid and get the boy. He's a Saints fan, so it's nice to think he'd play his heart out for the team.

Perhaps not today, and perhaps not Ings, but I think there will be transfer action of some sort triggered by Osvaldo moving, if (if) he does, as reported, switch back to Italian football.

Or just wait until the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big risk? Osvaldo anyone £15m gaston £12m
Thay were a big risks!
ings is young scores goals for fun and half the price and if you don't think he can do it at top level I've only one thing to say about that!
He Scored against us didn't he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Osvaldo, averaged a goal every two games in the Italian and Spanish top divisions

Ramirez, proven international in a team including Suarez, Cavani and Forlan and still only 23

Just because you've expected too much from them doesn't make them bad players

and yea ings scored against us, when we weren't playing a full strength team. He's had one good season, that we've only played about half of. Can he carry that on next season? Can he do it in a higher league? Could he do it in Europe?

J-Rod may have been a risk at the time but he had 2 full seasons of consistent goal scoring at championship level, Ings has had half of one. So, actually Ings hasn't played a lot more games or scored more goals, no

Agree0 Disagree0

Averaging a goal every two games in serie a means nothing when it comel to the premier league 1of serie a greatest strikers shevchenko springs to mind

Agree0 Disagree0

^ which is exactly why you should give them time to adjust to the league and not wet the bed over the fact they make mistakes due to being used to a much slower pace of football and the fact they haven't scored 1,000,000 goals on their debut. Smh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazzasaint - Shevchenko was at the end of his carer when he came to Chelski. Viali and Zola didn't do too badly though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get him in good player with potential

Im a United fan and a good deal for Shaw would be we buy him loan him back for the rest of the season and give you Michael Keane on loan with the option of another season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nah it would have to be Hernandez and buttner

Agree0 Disagree0

Let Me get this right you loan him back and we futher his development for you!and at cost to us! In the mean time he's worth about £10m more when you get him back! and then you want to give us another player to do the same thing with him Mmmmmmm!
Ya! That sounds a cracking deal for Southampton (not)! Jogg on!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernanzez then

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are You going to pay his wages?

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be terrible for us.

Shaw is happy here for now, and we need him.

Michael Keane is no where near premiership standard. We've got better youth players waiting in the wings so don't know why we'd loan yours.

We won't want player exchange, around £30m cash will do.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 million and januzaj I think is a very reasonable deal lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Sry paddy mate but no is the answer to that offer:)

Good afternoon for all the bitchy 'fans' we have so far. Hooiveld winning a pen and guly scoring it. Omg who are you going to whine about tonight?!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm going to guess that Luke Shaw is the worlds worst player now.

Agree0 Disagree0

One average performance doesn't suddenly make a player a 'good' player.
Players are judged by the fans on a cumulative basis (over a period of time) and having read comments regarding Hooiveld on this site, I feel they are pretty much accurate. Let's bear in mind we were playing Yeovil not a premiership side and yes he looked right at home, playing against a championship side, because, he is a player of championship standard.
WillsaSaint.

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny Fox! He was rubbish today! lol

Really think we should strengthen because if you look at Everton they've really made a statement by signing players as good a Mcgeady and Lacina Traore (even on loan) they really look like they could push on to top 4, we need keep progressing as I fear we could be going backwards with Lovren or Gaston as we're missing our best CB and our only player that can be a game changer off the bench (he was just coming good too!) If there is c a clause in Mayuka or Puncheon contract to bring them back, we really should as Mayuka is looking classy on Sochuax and has scored some great goals for them and would bring some of the pace we have lacked up front and could also play on either flank in an advanced position and Puncheon has been playing very well for Palace (just won't be taking penalties) I think we should sell Osvaldo to Inter for what would be around 14m hopefully and use the money to buy someone like Ings 6-8m who has been great lately and is a Saints fan so would play his heart out for us, then we should go for a CB maybe Scott Dann? But I'd prefer someone like Micah Richards who may want to get some 1st team football to have a crack at getting to the world cup, would love Caulker but doubt Cardiff would let him leave or we could look foreign and get someone like Astori for 12m. Then we'd have some depth but at the moment I fear we may have less depth than we did last year with the injuries or maybe some of the young kids could step up to the job like Stephens/Turnball CB, Rowe/Isgrove/Sinclair to play AMR/AML or Gallagher maybe up front COYR!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You say we should be pushing on and then say sign Ings and Dann? If we're going to sign a CB sign someone better than Lovren not someone who isn't even as good as Fonte. This is Ings' only season playing like he is, who's to say he can do it again or do it a division higher and in Europe maybe? Osvaldo won't be going anywhere, sometimes arguments and fights need to happen and everyone is happier afterwards.

Umtiti/Astori/Rafeal Toloi are the type and ability of CB's we should be looking to get, but it's unlikely they'll want to move during a world cup year

we need to look at players with top division/europe/international experience if we're looking to carry on improving the way we have been, not players who've only been on form for half a season and never played at the top level, just cause they support the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yh so let's sign highly rated foreign players like everyone else! Oh wait we did that and I'm not convinced about 6/8 of them look at who we have signed (not including free's):
Yoshida, Gazaniga, Mayuka, Gaston, Forren, Lovren, Osvaldo, Wanyama
I'm convinced Lovren and Wanyama are good signings although not 100% about Wanyama's passing, the rest Yoshida was ok last year but has been poor when filling this season, probably due to a lack of game time but still hasn't performed, Gazz always seems to let in soft goals when we play him, Mayuka was deemed not needed so loaned out, Gaston has put in a few good displays of late but then got injured and hasn't been consistent for 12m, Forren never even made an appearance! And Osvaldo headbutts team mates. Then look at the young English players we have signed in J-Rod and Clyne and both have been a success and Jay has now had an international call up with Clyne also pushing for a place. Hate to post something this negative and I hope they do come good and I think Mayuka and Gaston will as their young. Would rather give the kids more game time as the one that have had the opportunity in Shaw, JWP and Chambers have been fantastic, so I don't know what is telling you to sign foreign but OUR transfer history suggest young and English is the way forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the extremely depressing and negative writer talking about our foreign players:

Why, why, why?! Be positive about all the good things!
Ramirez scored and has started to show major improvement, Lovren has played like Kompany in defence, Mayuka is gaining a lot of confidence with Sochaux in Ligue 1, Osvaldo has been a strong presence against strong sides like Manchester City and the rest of what you were saying was just plain pessimistic!

Be happy, I beg you!

Stay cheery Saints' fans

Yoshida is no where near as bad as all you whiners seem to make out, infact MoPo preferred him to Fonte until Yosh got an injury pre-season. Mayuka is and has always been one for the future, have you seen anything he's done this season? no? well don't say he's not good enough, Forren was an Adkins transfer. says it all really, Osvaldo, it's his first season. give him time, you've made mention of J-Rod, but I bet you were one of the ones saying he was a waste of money and will never be good enough for prem football last season right? Give them time. You don't know the back reason behind the headbutt, just cause Fonte is popular doesn't mean he wasn't in the wrong. Ramirez has been great recently, but he's only been in the team recently, who's to say he wouldn't have been able to perform the way he has done all season. Gazza was another Adkins signing, and one of the reasons he was sacked. he's still a good 'keeper though and will get better with experience.

All of the foreign players you've deemed not good enough (with the exception of Gazza) are all international players, arguably in national teams with more top level players to choose from than England. so are they really not good enough, or are you just picking the bad bits about their games out and comparing them to the good things the English players do? I think the latter.

What's telling me to sign foreign is all of the incredible talent that's out there, how many English players have ever been given the ballon d'or? none? exactly. How many English players are in the Spanish/Italian/German top leagues? How well are England going to do in the World Cup? English players are great, but I'd rather sign someone foreign who's got top level/European/international experience than someone who's English, had a grand total of 30 good games, never played above the top level, just cause they support Southampton, like that makes a f'king difference?

Hate to post something this negative. yet that's all you do. Try smiling.

Agree0 Disagree0

'Forren was an Adkins transfer. says it all really' Adkins was already out the door when he came in. was a Les Reed/ Cortese signing. Ramirez and Mayuka were cortese's signings aswell its obvious

Agree0 Disagree0

The forren deal was done by adkins

Agree0 Disagree0

No it wasn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it was, it was agreed mid december

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be sensible shall we?

The reason that there are so many foreign players coming into the EPL is that they are cheaper relatively than English players of a similar standard.

I mean, Shaw is a good solid left back, but is he worth £30m - Pop abroad and get one for £10-15m.

For me though there is nothing better than having a kid that has come through the ranks and playing for the first team. Great to see so many kids involved in the 18 yesterday. so many I lost count. lol

in the world of football us fans call it "supporting your team", it means you are there win lose or draw.

COYS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes like brainless sheep support your club no matter what! Even if there making no effort to fix any underlining problems? That dose not matter!
You have no opinion of your own!
We just want your money!
The club knows best!
Support your club!
Your are red and white Zombies
Sorry I mean (red) zombies
Braaaaaaaaaainsssssas!

Agree0 Disagree0

The only underlying problem is fans like you who seem to expect us to have 4 world class players in every position. That's not going to happen. and then someone comes along who isn't moaning about every little thing and you have the gall to say they have no opinion? Pot meet kettle.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're only fans what are you actually gunna do that will make a difference? Everyone has opinions but true fans will support the club even if they disagree with it, they'll be no zombies at your door as you haven't got any brains.
