I might cop a lot of abuse for this but just an idea kewell,neill,cahill,hargreaves,owen look to be all free transfers or next to nothing with a tonne of premier league experience im sure none of them would let us down and its not like they need to play every game but that experience is priceless.Just a thought what do you guys reckon?

There are two free agents I would take. Craig Gordon as he is a top notch keeper and would like a Premiership club and Michael Owen as he's a top quality finisher but Owen only on a pay as you play and if his wage demands aren't ridiculous.

I agree we got good players but lack that pl experience

Two players used to the prem and english way of life Huddelstone and Dawson, two players already have an understanding proven quality if what we need.

We need good defenders and some pace up front, no of those players are needed

I think Craig Gordon at least so we have a second experienced goalkeeper. Might even take some pressure off Davis.

Bolgna have agreed to sign Flocarri from Lazio for 4.5m Euros. Considering the club have serious financial problems, this tells me that the bank guarantees have been made for the transfer of Ramirez.

Gaston Ramirez is expected to fly to England in the next 24 hours to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical before finalising his move.

Bit unfair when he said it won't happen it wasn't in a snobbish way, he knew the facts tbf and most people even us would have agreed, I mean I don't even like the fellow but can't really blame him for thinking it.

It is common knowledge that Gaston Ramirez has openly spoken of his desire to join Southampton and actually already agreed terms. The negotiations with Penarol, his previous club that own 30%, have also been reported as agreed. Hopefully negotiations with Bologna will be concluded imminently. It is understood Inter Milan are monitoring the situation and are ready to make an offer of £11m with £3m in add-ons.

There will be a delay with a work permit but nothing out of the ordinary as he is a capped player of a top National team. Although he doesn't have 75% caps in competitive matches in the last 2 years through injury. Should be no more than 3-5 days to sort out even if the application is rejected and an appeal is made.

Rumours of an agreed co-ownership between Southampton and Penarol are simply false. There may well be agreements with regards to sell-on percentages, but the FA do not allow 3rd party ownerships.

Let's hope this is sorted ASAP. Exciting talent and we certainly need a few new faces before the window closes.

For the inter milan bid thing surely you mean 11m and 3 in add ons. I see no reason why two Italian sides would deal in Pounds not Euro's.

The post before about crowd attendance is correct. Im a passionate saints fan and i've been buzzing ever since the coventry victory and if i didn't live on the other side of the world (australia) i would of been cheering my beloved saints on. I agree we do need an injection of pace up front and a quality cb but more important we need a full house come on guys i know it was wigan but 7 years we've waited for this and you can't get to the first home game.

29,000 people in a 32,000 seat stadium. Wigan failed to sell most of their tickets. That's why it looked empty.

I was gonna say, saints tickets were almost a sell out, i could only buy tickets in 14 or 43 and that was on the tuesday before. TV shot we awkward hence why it looked empty. It was angled ant the barrier between saints and wigan fans.

Fair enough, but im just saying even if it was at capacity i watched the swansea wet ham game and the noise and atmosphere was a hell of a lot more than at our game and there pretty much the same caliber teams as us and wigan.

Well if it upsets you so much, why don't you move to Southampton and show your support?

is it a player we should sign, if i was manager , i would go for it. expierence and can score goals, and a good crosser of the ball - chris {Ed052's Note - He is available - but I dont think he will end up at Southampton}

Too injury prone. Too inconsistent. I hate to say it, but I'm sure if he was going to join a bottom half team, he would prefer to go back to West Ham.

West Ham have spent themselves sick. I'm just waiting for them to go into admin.

I heard a rumour that Southampton want to stay in the Premier League - then when I saw the attendance on Saturday I knew this must be false.
Where are you Southampton fans?! Its the 12th man that makes the difference at home. Support your team! Why would Ramirez want to play in an empty stadium? This will affect transfer targets.

I know only 29000 in a stadium that holds 32000 and when the away side sold 3000 less than they normally do, shocking

I think most of the empty seats were cause Wigan handed back a large amount of their ticket share with little time left.
