Shaw is not for sale, at any price. In other news the sky is blue and Mauricio speaks spanish

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Make sure you keep your eyes open, there are a lot of flying eggs about just now, wouldn't want any on your face, would you?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate did you mean English? If so I herd it to he said yes! yes! lol

People we should bring in this window who I would like:
Astori
Deigo
Vela

In the summer lukaku

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do people seriously think we have a chance at Lukaku? He'll either be playing regularly at Chelsea or move to some other Champions league team

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we've got a great chance!we are a young team with a fantastic future and He's got a chance to be part of something special!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Lukaku could go to Athletico as part of the Diego Costa deal

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Lukaku is going to hospital.

Some people on here talking about wanting to sell Luke Shaw are just simply persons. Shaw is incredibly young and at one of the best academy's in the world. He is getting lots of experience and playing very well with talk of getting into the England squad.

However, my point being is that if Luke goes, we have Fox left who we should really be looking to sell (almost went to Bolton) as he is awful. That means we would have to buy 2 left backs very quickly.

Secondly, he is only going to get better. Look at Bale - World Record Transfer fee. There are also not a huge amount of very talented left backs either. Surely if we kept him for longer, he'd get better, help us win matches AND for those who still wish to sell, in years to come, he would sell for a larger transfer fee.

Don't understand any of you saying we should sell. Crazy.

Realistic Saint

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good point very easily made by realistic saint.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think calling people persons is a little bit rude to be honest, but other than that, fair point

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree I think shaw will become a very good player however as Chelsea appear to be gagging to get him it would be interesting to see if a deal could be made to get lukaka and bartram plus cash in a swap deal when season ends enabling us to retain Luke to end of current season and existing loan deals for lukaka and bartram come to and end with Everton and Aston villa. Whilst not wishing to lose Luke I think the overall strength of team would improve and being realistic the lure of champions leauge and major trophies will tempt him away at some stage.

Agree0 Disagree0

^ why Bertrand? he's half the player Shaw is and his wages are probably double Shaw's. IF Lukaku moves clubs he'll want to go to a team playing Champions league football paying probably triple the wages we would offer. IF Luke was to go, I'd rather us just get the touted £30mil (or whatever he's worth at the time) up front with some decent add ons and sell on percentages. That way we can re-invest in a high quality replacement for Luke (or Targett, depending on how he comes along) and a striker, if we really need one, let's see what happens re:Osvaldo first.

That being said, it doesn't look like Shaw wants to leave, his family want him to stay at Southampton (unlike AOC and Theo) so there's no pressure to move there and the club don't want to sell so I honestly doubt he'll be going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

MP on transfers: "We are assessing the balance of the squad. Maybe we will be able to do something in the next few days. "

Sounds like MP may be planning to bring in some new faces?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If it happens, surely it has to be a centre-back?

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I'd prefer a striker. Have faith in Yoshida and Jose Fonte and push Stephens who is now 20 and should be ready to be cover ahead of Hooiveld. Ideally, Striker (Quick and Clinical) and a Centre back ( that can play left back comfortably so can be cover for Shaw if he gets a knock

Agree0 Disagree0

Im more concerned with getting Three wins under our belt as soon as possible so we can give starts, and confidence, to the likes of Sam Gallagher, Harrison Read, Isgrove Rowe Sinclair. I've been watching Saints for 60 years and feel qualified to suggest we have never had it so good. With particular regard to Sam Gallagher, never mind what he does with the ball its his spacial awareness and positioning without it that marks him out as something special.

Agree0 Disagree0

^Gallagher is what Rickie would be if he had more pace

Agree0 Disagree0

Sam Gallagher is an 18 yr old kid learning his trade.

Yes he's an exciting prospect, but all this talk of him stepping into the first team on a regular basis is way short of the mark.

Give the kid a break, and don't expect too much too soon.

Am I the only One to think that callum Chambers has as much if not more potential than Luke Shaw (or Bale at the same age) at least as an out and out full back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think keep the two of them together they could be one of the best full back combinations of all time. They have a long way to go but both have serious potential and both already are top notch players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chambers has played about 15? first team games for us, I don't think Shaw looked quite as composed at his 15 game mark as Chambers does. I've said for a long time now that out of the two Chambers has the potential to be a lot better, which says a lot given how good Shaw is right now

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Shaw will be better, Chambers will hopefully get into the England team too though

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually think Chambers is developing at a faster rate than Shaw did last season. Coming along nicely under the radar.

Agree0 Disagree0

My point about Callum Chambers is that he has made giant strides in development since he first came into the First team and he rarely makes the basic defensive errors that Luke Shaw (and Gareth Bale did) is prone to.
I would be hugely disapointed if Luke Shaw left I would be devastated if Callum Chambers jumped ship. he along with others coming through is the future of SFC. Come along on Wednesday night and smell the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure what you are smelling mate. Saints play on Tuesday!

Callums a local lad from Petersfield, he'll be with us for a long time I reckon

What about the team for tomorrow. Calum/Nath - is Victor fit - should RL start or do we throw the Big S in - JWP or S Davis. Here is my go:

Boruc Clyne Shaw Yosida Fonte Wanyama Cork Spiderman Lallana JayRod Lambert

K Davis Chambers Hoover S Davis JWP Guly Big S

2-1 and let's blow the roof off COYR

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Team sheet will most likely include the Fumbling Dutchman at centre back along side Fonte with Yoshida on the bench.

Expecting to see Shaw, Clyne and Boruc. Although I wouldn't be too surprised if we had Chambers over Clyne.

Wanyama is unlikely to be back just yet so I'd expect Cork and Spiderman, possibly with Davis tucked in front.

Ward-Prowse and Lallana are likely to play with Rodriguez up top. Expecting Lambert to be starting on the Bench as well as Sam Gallagher.

Therefore the bench I'd expect will be; Kelvin, Chambers, Yoshida, Reed, Lambert, Gallagher and Do Prado.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would play

Boruc
Clyne Yoshida, Fonte, Shaw
Cork Schneiderlin
Lallana Davis Rodriguez
Lambert (Rodriguez if injured)

Subs. (Davis, Stephens, Chambers, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse (Swap for Rodriguez if Lamberts injured), Guly, Gallagher) COYR!

Agree0 Disagree0

Drop Cork, we need Wanyama's strength and power. Who gives a S**t about passing, we must stop Arsenal playing and that's what Big Vic does! Pressing game and stuff

Agree0 Disagree0

I think SRL is carrying a knock and would benefit from bench duty so i'd through in Big Sam and Jayrod up front

Agree0 Disagree0

Play Vic up front, power, strength, muscle. Frighten em. derr

Agree0 Disagree0

Play big Vic at centre half, problem solved!
Does anyone think he might be a bit slow for CB?

Tom Ince is in talks with an "unnamed Premier League side" over a loan deal. Anyone else think this may be us with an option to buy if he impresses?

Mainly the "unnamed club" bit that makes me think it may be us as we know how we like to keep things as quite as possible. Personally i'd be very keen to see him at Saints

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think the club involved is Swansea unfortunately

Agree0 Disagree0

Swansea, I believe. Don't know why Saints aren't having a look at Ince as he's available on loan and out of contract in the summer. Talk about win-win: they get to try before they buy (or not), and he's another young, hungry, English player - and on that can fill Ramirez' role in the squad now he's out for two months.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he has shown a few attitude problems since working with his father for the last few months. Apparently he has his head in the clouds now, as his father has spent the entire time telling him how wonderful he is. That is why he is being let go, when Oyston is normally awkward about this kind of thing. They want rid as he is a pain in the rectum.}

Seems a bit unprofessional of him and his dad really. Shame to see that sort of thing happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - unfortunately, his father is so far up his own backside, professionalism goes right out the window. I had the misfortune to deal with him a number of times, I can honestly say I have never disliked anyone quite as much as him.}

Ed, sorry but aren't your comments a bit unprofessional, even if true they are a poor example to the other posters on here? Suppose this won't see the light of day now

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - what on earth are you on about? Is this just a pointless whinge for the sake of it? Are you paying for this site? No, so why on earth do you expect professionalism? It was an opinion, if you don't like it, don't go on websites with opinions.}

Thanks for the heads up, Ed. What a shame if Ince Jr's promising career gets derailed by the King of Big Time Charlie-ism, Ince Sr.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is a shame, but it must be remembered that he left Liverpool initially because he was struggling to hold down a place in the reserves, let alone the first team. So he isn't that special anyway.}

My friend played for Notts County when Ince was there. He said he was a t**t. couldn't stand him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed Have to say i'm to enamoured about the antics, over the years, of Ince Senior but i'd be happy to give Ince Junior the chance to kick the traces (without Dad in tow)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - get him a job elsewhere, far away from Southampton then, because otherwise he will be there all the time meddling.}

I think it's safe to say Ed doesn't like the "guvener much"
