Are we all expecting Saints to hold their own in the premiership,no chance,we will be lucky to escape relegation before March. The squad is inexperienced and no way strong enough in depth, it will take a vast influx of quality players to carry us through and this will prove to be difficult because every team are looking for the same quality, have a bad run in this league we will be finished.

The system NA is developing will be demolished with pace and it is displaying a lack of knowledge and and once again experience.

The fear is real

I know that most other Saints fans will be irritated with this statement but I forecasted saints promotion over the past two seasons including the blips also the teams who would be promoted with Saints

Hello to the pompey fan who wrote that comment . did you not watch us in the ajax game, was dominated long parts of that game and held our own against good european opposition - chris

Ok then we're would you improve personally, your very quick to criticise before the season has started without displaying in detail what the problem is, what would you do differently?

Agree2 Disagree0

It was easy to predict promotion from league 1. It is easy to slate the promoted as cannon fodder. But I definitely think you are talking out of your back side if you predicted a saints promotion last season. No one saw that coming. We surprised people once, we'll do it again. It was Adkins' methods that got us this far so quickly, and he'll prove himself one of the finest young managers around this season. We have signed quality players. We do need at least 2/3 more, but we will get them soon and we will be fine.

I think you are really failing to see a lot, Southampton fan or not we've seen Southampton play at the top standard vs Ajax... They took on Arsenal and drew 1-1 (winning on penalties). Jay Rod looked great, the team is strong enough to survive. I reckon teams to go down will be teams like Swansea, West Brom or Fulham cause they seem to be loosing players without making significant signings (I'm not saying they will go down just saying their position looks weaker).

I am certain the first post is a Saints fan.. And one who sees it as it is.. Take the rose tinted glasses off boys - the 'A' team hasnt scored a goal yet in pre season. We lost at home!

We play a formation which leaves Lambert as a lone striker, he will never have the athletisism to cope.. We have no pace outlet wide. We have the worse 2 centre backs in the league and the weakest keeper.. Clyne is a good signing but Adkins has not fixed the glaring weaknesses in the side.. We need a right winger, 2 CBs and ideally another strong C Forward and keeper asap.. Adkins is favourite to be the first manager sacked - they say the bookies know a thing or two..

I am a Saints fan and am not impressed at all - none of the educated fans on decent forums are impressed either. We need to sort this out or we are in trouble and Adkins may not last until mid Sept..

Agree1 Disagree3

'None of the educated fans on decent forums'...is this the same pompous, arrogant, negative person who wrote the first post? Can't tell cos the whinging cowards haven't left a name. Leicester were bookies favourites for promotion last season and Blackpool were favourites for relegation in the season they were promoted. If your that unimpressed then take a drive down the M27 - you won't be missed.

The only problem in the last game was the finishing. Your complaining about Adkins and and our defense, but Adkins is trying to improve the defense so your complaints are irrelevant.

the final thing why are you pretending to be a different person from the first post! you write in the exact same style! referring to the majority of saints fans as uneducated just shows that you have some bitter resentment towards Southampton.

Why are you complaining so much about a very good performance in the pre season against a team which are better than the majority of premier league teams, and are much further ahead in there preseason.

It on the OS that Harding has signed a 3 year deal with Forrest. Sad to see a good player like him leave but wish him well in his new challenge. This does however suggest that we could have something up our sleeve regarding a new defender, Cortese is a shrewd businessman and would not let a player go without having a replacement lined up. Watch this space.
