Tottenham and Valencia agree on Soldado fee?
Looks like leandro damiao is running out of options! Can NC & MP pull it off?

Seems Liverpool have leandro damiao on there radar I wondered how long it would take them to come sniffing around? Is it me or do Liverpool always seem to chase the same players as us? Let hope they don't do another cortinho on us!!

Expect PSG to be in the press about this soon, there was an article I read yesterday saying they have had a 25m euro offer accepted on a portuguese website. Do google search 'leandro damiao' then search tools, time, last 24 hours. It was on first page yesterday.

Game over if it's true

According to Bernards father, Hulk has convinced Bernard that a move to Porto would be best for his career (over Arsenal, at least). This despite the fact there haven't actually been any offers for the Attacking Midfielder as of yet.

Not a rumour but if spurs sell bale are we due a percentage?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Afraid not. We were due a sell on fee but because we need the money fast we swapped that for forecast! Rupert who? bye bye

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought there was still a clause in the original sales contract that involved a small amount of sell on regardless of other board intervention. Not sure but just something in the back of my mind nagging at me. No not the wife!

Agree0 Disagree0

We could claim something from the youth protection programme from FIFA where the clubs get to hold a stake in players they produce to their first new club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone in the know (but I can't remember who now) stated that while we've sold out on the clauses enclosed in the Bale contract, we would still be entitled to a 5% compensation fee, due to rules regarding player development.

I know this rule exists, as Wanyama has several clubs trying to claim a slice of his deal to Saints, but uncertain where we would stand regarding this. Still if Bale goes for £100m it would be a free £5m for Saints FC

Agree0 Disagree0

But I think the 5% sell on fee would get split between Spurs and us as he was a youth development player at Spurs too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs get the bulk of the fee.
We'd get the 5%.

Agree0 Disagree0

But spurs are selling him

A pure bullsitting Italian Tv station has lied through it's teeth and made up that Saints had tabled a 20million bid for Internacional and Brazil forward Leandro Damiao.

Again the social media reaction was that of surprise from Saints fans, utter disbelief from the rest of football and bile spilling disgust from Spurs fans.

How dare Southampton think they can court such a player? Especially one that, thus far, Spurs themselves have failed to secure. Who on earth do we think we are?

he mischievous side of me likes to think that while Mauricio Pochettino, Nicola Cortese and the rest of the Saints transfer committee are having a break from discussing their serious transfer targets, they are scouring the internet to see where they can cause a little trouble.

I mean there must be an explanation like that mustn't there? We know our place, right? We wouldn't actually try and sign these players, would we? We surely wouldn't have the gall to try to improve our squad to compete at a higher level? Come on guys. Little old Southampton?

A similar reaction has been seen to Cardiff's summer transfer exploits. Good on them. I hope they get some of the players they are after and help displace one of the clubs in the lower echelons of the Premier League who are happy to be static at the level.

You see we aren't. We want to progress and, as incredulous as it might seem to some people, we are going to try and do it anyway.

I actually think we should take our transfer trolling up a notch now, perhaps stick in a cheeky bid for an established player at a top English club. I'm thinking a Juan Mata or a Robin Van Persie. The meltdown would be unreal.

Instead of a reaction of annoyance, I actually think the likes of Saints and Cardiff should be praised for trying to compete. What it comes down to, especially from fans of a club like Spurs, is fear. The last thing they want is another club in their way for their annual battle for fourth place.

To be honest, if I were an up-and-coming young Brazilian forward, I think I might want to play for the 'Fathers of Brazilian football' over Spurs anyway. There. I've said it.

Keep the faith.

Until the Bale situation is sorted, can't see anyone wanting to join Spurs. NC will not have missed this signal.

Nice copy and paste of an old blog with the inclusion of a pretty ludicrous last 3 paragraphs.

Just got a feeling (a very strong one) that all that blurb in the post a couple above comes from somebody not in the slightest bit related to SFC. If it wasn't for the fact that it seems reasonably well presented I would have guessed that it may have come from that jealous lot down the road. We do have money and credibility but unlike many other clubs we have a chairman with a brain who thinks about the long term and not trying to compete with big boys by signing blank cheques. We will be moving in the right direction but the expression is. Steady as she goes.

This post was a copy of Chris Rann's blog from the Metro. A good read, so if you don't follow it you should

Shaw and Ward-Prowse, now Chambers and Isgrove looking fantastic. Love how many good British youth players are getting a shot at the first team at the moment. Those four have the potential to go far, then when you look at who else we have in the youth squads and academy at the moment.

It's a good time to be a Saint.

Couldn't agree more. Indeed it been really pleasing to see these kids doing so well preseason.

Lets hope they continue to stay humble and work their butts of to make a first team slot their own.

Especially pleased with Isgroves' progress following on from his injury plagued season last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isgrove reminds me of lee holmes

Agree0 Disagree0

Isgrove should be playing 1st team if he keeps this up
