With Mark Lawrenson having done his usual unjustified prediction of a Saints loss, I don't think I've ever wanted a result against Man City as much as now. Ignoring all the discussion of Champions League places, a win would really resonate the clubs mission statement from the summer. We Don't Just Buy Success, We Breed It. We Don't Take Shortcuts, We Earn It.

Mark Lawrenson has always underplayed Saints success or predicted defeats, he has never rated us and I'm not particularly bothered as I don't rate his analyses either.
Actions speak louder than words, so come on saints let get a win on Sunday

Finally, a mention for the mysteriously absent Sam Gallagher. Koeman thinks he'll be back in 2-3 weeks after meniscus surgery.

Let's hope he can make a big impact in the second half of the season.

Still not sure Sam is up to this standard yet as he was only brought in when there were injuries last season apart from the odd game to give him a try. I don't honestly think he is the answer at this stage. He has been out a long time and I think we need to get a forward in the mould of Pelle ( Rickie maybe ? ) to use as cover and rotation once the January window begins. A few injuries or suspensions in crucial areas and I can see us struggling as we did a year ago about now. We have excellent players but no squad depth in attacking/defensive midfield until JWP returns and I think he will take a while to adjust after such a bad injury. If we want to push for Europe we need to strengthen.

I agree with chrisdownj we need more depth to maintain this run and consolidate our place in the top 4.

I think Gallagher has shown some promise and would be a good option off the bench. I don't know if he'll be a world beater - it's too early to tell - but there's something there. Could be a useful squad player if he gets fit.

Interesting to see Jake Hesketh training with the first team squad this week. He's an attacking midfielder/number 10 and perhaps the next youngster to push his way into contention.

Just read that we get 750k pounds for being televised. Why can't they make these A category games cheaper so that they can fill the stadium more quickly. A sell out having been acheived say a week ago might just make a few of our fair weather supporters buy a season ticket. I still can't believe we are not sold out considering our league position and a game against the champions. Somebody said it might have something to do with it being at Sunday lunchtime so what, most people have got a microwave haven't they ? I'm sure most of us true supporters have experienced dried up gravy quite a few times.
