Our goal difference is bad but equal with others. We've played Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City already. We should have more points from those games. I see 2 bad results, Wigan and West Ham - because we should be better than them. Never expect away wins, but 4-1 to a bunch of spawny hoofers is frustrating. Reality is, they scored all their chances in games we dominated possession. We'll turn it round, no doubt.

Funny that the Spam were comprehensively outplayed by Wigan yesterday... An underrated good footballing team playing a lucky, hoofing, scrappy bunch with the most fickle deluded fans in the country crying their way out with time to go.

Saints will stay up and I'm hoping Adkins will learn by his mistakes and drives us on. I feel sorry for him because he overachieved to get us here this quickly, and that has put big pressure on him because our squad was largely the same as League 1 when we were promoted. It's not his fault we don't have the options in defence - that's Corteze's department. I'm positive after January, we'll be much stronger and will continue to grow for the foreseeable. I hope Adkins can do a Fergie and stay for many years - and he was almost sacked! Having said that, if Adkins continues to play Do Prado and subs or leaves out Rickie, I have to say I would not have sympathy if he were sacked, because that is pure foolishness.

I'm sure Corteze would get someone of decent calibre as Pardew and Adkins were very shrewd choices. I pray not Harry Redknapp. I do like Strachan and can see that working, but I expect a European - probably Italian.

Let's get behind the team and hope Adkins turns this around. COYR!

Great post mate. our nige needs all the support he can get, but you raised a fair point. keep playing do crapo and it's his own fault

I agree with most of what you said there Tony. Great point about getting behind the manager he has done a great job so far and even though the results aren't great he has made a huge influence on the club. I mean take the Tottenham game just gone... We were played off the pitch in the first half and whatever he said at half time changed the team completely.

I agree maybe using Guly is not the best of choices but at the moment he's short on options with Cork and Ramirez out. Guly isn't that bad. He's definitely not good enough but he's not like taking the team down to 10 men.

I also reckon we have a goalkeeping dilema at the moment. I mean we have Boruc who, credit to him, is a great keeper. But personally I'm disappointed about whats happened to Gazzaniga. He was playing brilliantly and I really want to see him back. He is a top class keeper and is young so will improve like a lot of our squad. Shame about Kelvin Davis, served us well but I can't see him getting much of a look in at the moment.

I have faith in Adkins to take us up the table and I see signs of us pushing. I reckon it will just take one or two good results to begin a strong set for us. The team has come through strong so far and they can keep going. Come on you saints, in Adkins we trust!

The fact is westham have 14 points and you have 4 what you did last year counts for nothing, you have a poor side, spurs should have been out of sight by half time, its no good having a go when you have nothing to lose, can't remember southampton having a shot on goal in the first half says it all really, 4 points out of a possible 27 Ouch!

Agree2 Disagree4

Ok whoever made the comment 'the fact is West Ham...' I really have to disagree with your point. I know 4 points isn't good enough but to be honest the way Southampton played in the second half out did spurs. They have the ability all they need is consistency and they can climb the table. I agree West Ham got off to an impressive and good start. But the fact is Southampton have the potential to turn things around and climb out of relegation with teams like Reading, Villa, Norwich and QPR being in the contending area as well.

West ham have only played the arsenal so far. wait till there run of the big guns come along. yes they have had a better start to the season but look at who they have played compared to us. yes things need sorting but no matter what TOGETHER AS ONE! COYR

Agree2 Disagree1

What arrogance from OP, we should be better than west ham and wigan, you're not ,that is why u lost to them, wigan miles better, and whu equally as bad maybe

Where's all the stains fans today? another defeat looming southampton 1-3 spurs championship here we come.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Wasn't 1-3... And I'm not sure the Championship is looming. Even though we lost we were unlucky to do so. As Adkins said 'beaten by the clock' (Paraphrasing). I think the team has shown great signs of improvement and I can see soon the team turning around and pulling it's way up the table. Come on you saints. In Adkins we trust.
