Just watching the Greece vs Costa Rica game in the WC - I'm sure we will sign Pelle as our main striker (replacing Rickie Lambert) but also this Samaras could be a good rotational option for that role. He's available on a free and would have concerns relying on Gallagher if we got injuries - Anyone else agree?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Samaras is awful would struggle in a championship side

Are u mad?!?!?!?!? Samaras is one of the laziest most useless striker I've ever seen. Agree with above post would struggle with a championship team

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok, I'll shut up then! LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

He's done okay for Greece, but I think we need to be a bit more ambitious there, I think we can do better than Pelle to be honest as he's 28 and has attitude problems

also good to see the new under 18 boys join today, anyone know who the best prospects are? Also anyone know what happened with Callum Slatterry? Did he join Arsenal, or is he just to young to go into our under 18's yet?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's quite a strong indication he will not be staying with us which is bad news for him because if he joins Arsenal there is no clear path for him to get through to the first team.

Koeman's back from holiday now, so let the rebuilding begin! Gutted to lose players but am also quite excited at the prospect of a £70m budget with someone of Koeman's rep attracting players, can't wait for the first signing as we could do with something to cheer about! As I said let's start rebuilding, COYR!

Where did you get this list? Targeting players on Football Manager or looking up players we may have been linked to online? Either way I am not so certain about a few of the names on this list as realistic good targets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmm, you've mentioned some good players but I wouldn't expect many signings in midfield, especially as defensive as those said - regardless of the rumors I don't expect Schneiderlin to leave.
For me:
GK: ALEX McCARTHY (12 clean sheets in 44 games) / ANTHONY LOPES (18 clean sheets in 52 games)
Defense: ÉDER ÁLVAREZ BALANTA (strong & pacey centre back capable of covering the left side) / TERENCE KONGOLO (very pacey centre back, can cover cover left back too, 2 goals & 1 assist for Feyenoord in 24 matches / NICOLA MURRU (regarded by some as the Italian Luke Shaw, a very pacey, strong left back playing first team football with Cagliari)
Midfield: RÉMY CABELLA (14 goals & 8 assists in 37 appearances) / MORGAN SANSON (1 goal & 2 assists from defensive midfield at the age of 19 - Sanson is very promising, pacey, a good dribbler, strong and very good at tackling)
Attack:

Agree0 Disagree0

Attack: VIKTOR FISCHER (3 goals & 5 assists from the left flank, his dribbling and technique are very impressive) / EBENEZER ASSIFUAH (15 goals & 5 assists in 24 matches) I also agree with LACAZETTE & IBARBO.

Agree0 Disagree0

For me I would love to see grenier at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like:
GK: Forster/McCarthy/Butland
CB: Caulker/Richards/De Vrij/Inigo Martinez/Van Dijk
AM's: Shaqiri/Adam Johnson/Tadic/Firmino
ST: Pato/Rhodes/Ings/Doumbia/Dos Santos

not rumours, just good players I'd like to see

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't mind Huntelar either!

TJ you make interesting points, but I would just point out that technically assets are either tangible (ground equipment, physical imoveables and moveables) or intangibles ie players as their value lies in their registrations, which depends on their desirability in the transfer market.

Sammy lee to join saints coaching staff good appointment

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Apparently, he'd already agreed terms with Brighton then did a u-turn - no loyalty in football

Agree0 Disagree0

Course there ain't can't believe people still shocked by that fact, least it's us doing the knifing for a change

Agree0 Disagree0

Smirky - not shocked, but I suppose it gives us less opps to moan about what the likes of Lallana and co are doing.

Papers reporting maybe 7 signings in the coming weeks. Players are leaving to the right clubs to be fair. Shaw to United who are looking to build again and Liverpool are in the Champions league so lallana and ricky made a good decision. Now it's Morgan to Arsenal and again that's not a bad choice although they have enough in his position so match time might be though to get.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Arsenal are desperate for a defensive midfielder so I'd make em pay through the nose for him

It could be as many as 10 depending on fees paid although the outs will likely continue with Morgan and Lovren so considering the outs plus need for added squad depth that amount of ins is not out of the question neither is the 100m kitty rumoured to be on other for Koeman.

Think some fans need to remember that we were nearly out of business until st Marcus took the club on. I am the first to admit that it is a sad time to see sir Ricky, Adam and Luke go but whether we like it or not football is a business and nearly 60m for them is good business. Just imagine that when in league one we had sold Adam we would have got on more than 6m! Not even that to be honest. Ricky just a fantastic story and then there's Luke. 30m clear profit!
With agents and the amount of money in football these days the Matt le Tiss days are long gone. Players and managers are going to move around on a regular basis. Fact.
We have potentially a great manager with money to spend on putting together an exiting squad for now and developing new talent for the future. Let's think then about getting behind the manager and players for another season in the top flight. Did we think we would be saying that 5 to 6 seasons ago! C O Y R!

I hear you Reet!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with your comments and love your optimism. Just hope its still the same come the end of the transfer window and the end of next season. We've nearly lost the full spine of the team (if morgan and lovren go). Its a big ask to get new players in and get them to gel quickly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Omg that old chestnut again stop living in the past! That ones been flogged to death!

I am not remotely doom and gloom. at the moment. We have money, a potentially excellent manager who doesn't teach them to walk it into the net (how many times did we lose points for thus last year. ) however I think the board need to be aware there are concerns amongst the fans and they need to spend a lot of this money on quality proven people to give us a fighting chance of matching what we achieved.
Shaw and Lallana have been potentially off for a long time. They both wanted it. I will be disappointed more when Lovren and Morgan go.
But. We have lost players before and had no money to replace them. It does give me hope
