All in good time, it'd be nice to see things happen quickly but we don't know for definite that both those of players we have made firm bids for, or if they are even our main targets, they could well just been on the shortlist.

Why disagree there are a lot of teams after cdm at the moment.

Well, no-one knows for sure who Saints' top targets are. It's all speculation until they sign on the dotted line.

It does look like they're missing out on some decent defensive midfielders (Kondogbia has gone to Inter as well), but maybe they were never in the hunt in the first place. Looking at how much Porto are paying for Imbula and his wage demands, it seems unlikely Saints were even close to landing him.

We'll just have to be patient and see what transpires. I'm sure there's still a couple of good options out there that the club are pursuing on the down-low. They won't want to get into a bidding war with anyone by doing their business too publicly.

We aren't going to get every player that we are linked with.
Marseille are a big team with a big stadium and a bigger wage structure.
They are a long established ligue 1 club which topped it 5 years ago.
5 years ago we were where?
We have the opportunity now we are in the qualifying rounds of Europe to attract a higher caliber of player but they have to fit in around our wage structure.
I trust the board and it's their negotiating skills which are important now. RK will have given a list of transfer targets but won't be involved in negotiating contracts.
Let's give it a little time before pressing the panic button. After all, when is the transfer window officially open from and till?

Evening Saints fans, United fan here. Looks like one of your boys may be heading north to us soon, just wondered how highly you guys rate him as a player? I've seen a bit of him but don't watch you guys week in week out. Interested to get your honest views on him as a player. Also, as a club you guys do things the right way, very impressive how many quality players come through your youth and scouting network. Nice to see a club being run well, from top to bottom, without a sugar daddy bank rolling you.

Utd have paid mega bucks for nobodies recently. Schid I'd a very decent player but then again so ewad Shaw. Trouble is once UTD have signed mega bucks players those players need to be motivated. Fergie could do this but no manager since has come close

He will be a better bet than those who have gone to Liverhampton.

He's the best player we've had since the days of Le Tissier. A lot of his work goes under the radar because most fans are more interested in seeing flair and goals. But his stats highlight his influence on the pitch, last season he averaged 3.7 tackles per a game and 2.6 interceptions, as well as an 89.3 passing percentage. In all honesty if the fee ends up being £25 million it's an absolute steal.

100 percent everything you need in your midfield. The fact France were playing him after being adamant he needed to be at a CL club to play for them should speak volumes to you. He is world class. If he was already at CL club you would be paying 40m.

Seems to be some twisted knickers here. No serious offer has been made for Morgan by Utd as of today.

Any deal is far from done.

Will RoKo roll over for LVG?

Will we sell Morgan cheaper than Luke?

Would Morgan be content with being a squad player?

Would Morgan be training TODAY if a deal was imminent?

IMO there quite a few twists left in this one.

He's useless don't bother 😬.
He's carrick 6 years ago. Look forward to seeing him on a Tuesday/Wednesday night on the box.
Although no serious bids as of yet

Brendan beat me too it. Was just about to ask the same question. I have watched him a few times and each time been very impressed. Glad to hear you rate him so highly and like you, I also think he is just what we need in our weak CM. here's hoping we make an offer and get him

Morgan is the complete holding mf he's strong an he can run all day and night the best holding man in the prem and it's a joke that you paid 30 mil for fellaini and he's not half as good as Morgan I think if fellaini is 30 Morgan is 100 mil

What's interesting about Saints only getting £12.5m for Clyne (just £10m before add ons), because he's in the last year of his contract, is that Wanyama is going to be in the same position next summer, and he cost the club £12.5m to bring in.

At the time, it was viewed as a good investment, as he had plenty of sell on potential, but if the going rate now (or the best Les Reed can negotiate) is £12m for a player whose contract is winding down, Saints might actually lose money overall on the Wanyama deal.

Which would be extremely careless of them.

Firstly a business secondly a football club thirdly what's in the fans interest.

That's Liverhampton for you all over.

SFC has to sell to get income. We are not sponsored by the Far East!

Does anyone else things that it might be good to blood Turnbull and Stephens with us this season? Bearing in mind it's going to be a long season if we get through qualifying for the group stages.

Assuming Saints sign a replacement for Alderweireld, Stephens and Turnbull would be fifth and sixth choice CBs. Perhaps sixth and seventh, considering McCarthy was around the first team squad for much of last season.

So it'll be another loan for at least one of them, I reckon.

Stephens, I'm quite interested in. He's a bit older, bit more experienced than the other young defenders at the club, and is quite versatile, able to do a job at CB, RB and DMC. I hope he can have a strong pre-season and force his way into Koeman's plans, as he's potentially a handy squad player.

No. Loans are being sought for both in the championship. Don't know why Yoshida has come under so much scrutiny this transfer window was more than a capable squad player last season. I would much rather Yoshi and Gardos than throwing in 2 inexperienced young lads. Doing it with a CB is a very different story than say a winger.

Watched the two Jack's at Swindon quite a bit last season. In my opinion they should be loaned out to a Championship team as right now, that is their level (or L1 again). Apart from pre season, I don't think they'll feature for us, even with the extra games we have this season.
