Ricky Lambert is probably my favourite Saints player, absolute club legend in my eyes, I'd love him to stay as he's a crucial player but at the same time, playing through the lower leagues he probably never thought he'd get a chance to play for Liverpool his boy hood club, I'd understand but be again be absolutely gutted

Totally agree St Sam. He's a great role model for the youth as well.

I'm thinking Neil Lennon could be a possibility for the Saints vacancy. He has recently expressed his desire to work in the premier league, has had champions league experience and he knows how to get the best out of Wanyama.

8th is the highest u'll ever hope to finish. SHAWly, Lallana (ur captain), Lambert, Schneiderlin are all but gone! That injured guy will follow suit. Hope not to be back to the championship. Reality is u're a STEPPING STONE for players and managers. FACT.

Oh, and I forgot Lovren! Who I support really doesn't matter, does it? U were told b4 hand all these by Ed002 what was going to happen. Live with it. Does it hurt?

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, Your quite funny. You can almost see the envy. It's nothing to be ashamed of. If saints are a stepping stone what would that make your side?

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't believe you Magic, it's actually kind of funny to read your deluded ramblings.

In serious response to the original post I'm not so sure Lennon would bring us what we want though. He is a good manager but not necessarily fitting in with the "Southampton way".

So lambert is going? Sounds like we are being lied to already by Freddy Krueger i. e no players will be sold until new manager is appointed!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No bids have been accepted yet.

Man a LOT of Southampton fans need to calm down and look at the bigger picture. A Rumour, nothing more than that of Rickie going and suddenly the board are the reincarnation of Hitler & Stalin.

Yes, Rickie's a club legend, but, he's 32, has chronic back problems and on his way out as a player, it's not like he's in his prime anymore, 7-10 mil for him would be incredible business and would allow us to get a younger replacement in (who btw could become a legend themselves).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Absolutely correct. Lambert has been brilliant for us, who would deny him this move. Ings could come in. would cost a few quid, but I reckon he would do the job.

Over the past 10 years we've been through so many ups and downs and I've always kept the faith, although it's hard to continuing to do so, the project the club started in 2009 has come so far in 5 shirt years but what's going on now is not something Markus would have been happy about. It's a shame that after such a great season as one that this is happening, although I will be gutted if (or if we are to believe reports, when) rickie goes Liverpool I cannot but admire his personal journey and you can't blame him wanting to go to his boyhood club. It may seem a typical saints fan thing to say but they path we are on I am fearful for next season. The most important thing is that whoever is playing at st marys next season the fans get behind them and we stay together as one.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

. and what IS going on now?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, but it seems to me that a "typical Saints fan" has seen enough off-seasons to realize that 1) not all rumors are true, and 2) this club and every club can endure a few changes in an off-season. For those who are panicking even though NO players have been sold, have you ever been through an off-season before? Have you forgotten what it's like? Have you not noticed that even the top clubs inevitably lose some players every year? All I can do is shake my head at some of the despair and anger on here at what is, so far, absolutely normal football business. Amazing--NOT ONE contracted player has left yet (yes I realize that some will, at some point), but some people seem to have given up on next season already.

I heard liverpool are closing in on our head ballboy. 2.5m

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Krueger and Reed should hold out for at least 8 m.

Kruegers impressed me in his last couple of interviews, seems like he's been true to his word about trying to grow the club commercially, he said he had been hiring new people on that side of things which sounds exciting as well as saying we want to push for European football, that we have top managers wanting the Saints job and some quality player agents asking about the club too, sounds to me like we're in a good position, as well he said there are no deals for Lallana or Shaw in place, he also said he wants to be able to release a player and manager shortlist for the summer! Sounds good to me

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He also mentioned the January saga whitch makes me think they been looking for a manager since then they just can't say it, he does sound impressive people saying he ain't a football man I don't think he needs to be les reed etc do that bit got to remember it's a business and he seems to no what he is doing in that respect growing the club glabally etc whitch is where real gains can be made

Agree0 Disagree0

I just feel reasured that the club is going in the right direction and that the board is being very honest with us which is good, also good to know our ambitions for next season

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope more of our fans get behind the board from here on in, Krueger has been very honest with the standing of the club in these interviews. Remember no player has been sold yet or will be until the new manager has an opportunity to evaluate the team. That shows that this is not some Mickey Mouse club of directors who are only in it for the money. Likewise the mentioning of any future player sales will have been calculated by Les Reed first, by using the scouts to find replacements who can continue to mold out the Southampton way as we March into Europe. It's easy to be a sceptic but I feel if anything this time next season we may be in an even stronger position that the one we are now.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the club are pushing for Europe then surely that's his way of saying our players eg shaw, lallana are NOT for sale. COYS

Agree0 Disagree0

He sounded a lot more enthusiastic about the commercial side of the club and more evasive about the football side of it, saying that wasn't his area. I suppose he means that's les reeds job. As too top manager and players being interested in saints well until I see names ( yes I know he can't divulge those at this stage ) then its only his opinion who is top quality. Say its malky mackay applying for the job is that top class? Matter of opinion I think. Hopefully they will be able to tempt someone like Murat Yakin or Ronald DeBooer. As for players well we defo are going to need some if the exodus that we all fear happens. let's hope all the money coming in will be allowed to be used on new players, as this so I hear was the principal problem for MoPo. He was told three players needed to leave with one being the temper tantrum kid and the others we all know, but only 15m was to be re-invested in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's malky the dream is over

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling Sean Dyche will be seriously considered, up and coming, english, and probably not too demanding with regard to transfer budget which let's face is why Poch left like Strachan before him.
What I am really angry about is Katarina Liebherr giving the impression off being committed when in fact she was here to asset strip and then sell the club.
Whichever way you look at it we need a new owner. Cortese, please come to the rescue!

Swansea City sign Fabianski. I was hoping we'd sign him when we were linked with him a while back, really underrated goalkeeper.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wonder if that means we can bump Liverpool for vorm from Swansea

Agree0 Disagree0

Keeper is probably a priority position, I'd like Fraser Forster or maybe Alex McCarthy or maybe even Butland if he's available!

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I would like begovic

Agree0 Disagree0

^Valdes is available on a free

L'pool are supposed to be in for vorm, mignolet might be available?
