What does everyone thin about our current GK situation? I know Boruc is class, but in reality him and Kelv are getting on and Gazanniga may not be ready when we need him to be, so I was thinking about the possability of offering Boruc as part of a swap deal for Fraser Forster? He looks just as good and he's a lot younger and has said he wants to play for england so may consider a move to do so? I reckon 4m + Boruc would be enough? Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd rather offer Davis. We can't really afford to loose Boruc at this point and frankly Gazzaniga was incredible when he played. It's just a shame that the over-riding memory of him so far is his mistake against Norwich. Every keeper has days like that.

Agree0 Disagree0

If gazza ain't near ready this season comeing then he ain't that top keeper we hope
how old is he now in comparison to , de gea, butland ect

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep Boruc and spend money on defence and quality 20+ striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazza is 21, De Gea is 22 but still and I personaly don't think butland is going to be the top keeper everyone thinks e is! I think we should look to loan him out this season and let him get some gametime under his belt in the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazza wasn't incredible when he played otherwise he would be our number 1 at presant. Heard a rumour that we are tracking Sunderland GK Simon Mignolet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazza made some brilliant saves while in goal, just people can't remember them because they always focus on the mistake. My main memories of his time in goal actually are an incredible finger tip save against Everton and a good solid performance in our first win of the season against Villa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazza wasn't anywhere near incredible. How can anyone say he was? He was awful. Very nervous, slippery hands. He didn't do our defence any good. You need someone to boss the defence and shout out orders in goal. Boruc is good at this while Gazza is seemingly not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazza will be a quality keeper, Made a fantastic save against Newcastle when he had nothing else to do all game which could of cost us as we didn't take all our chances. His distribution is better than our other 2 keepers. I have faith in him

Agree0 Disagree0

Borucs class how old his he 32-33 easy 3-4 season at the top left in him if not more I don't like gazzaniga thought I know he's young but we could do so much better

Agree0 Disagree0

The only saves gazza made were straight at him shocking no positional sence what so ever commanding of the area just not there looked woefull at best not what we need never going to get a game anyway the way boruc been playing he's a quality keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

You guys clearly know nothing about goalkeeping. He's been relatively well positioned especially seeing as he is such a young keeper and has made some great saves. Plus your argument about shots being 'at him' would surely mean he was positioned well?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm happy we signed Boruc on to a longer deal. I thought Gazzaniga looked promising in his games, but that he clearly needs more experience. That's fine though, a lot of keepers don't really hit their stride until their mid- to late-20s. I think we're coming into Davis' last season as a player, though. Like Jaidi, I think the club are grooming him for a coaching/development role. I am perfectly happy with Boruc as the starter and Gazzaniga as the No. 2 for next season. Davis or maybe even Cropper as the No. 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was always a risk putting Gazzaniga into the team straight away anyway. He had only played around 20 games in league 2 the season before, but I think he will defo improve

Agree0 Disagree0

I think though this could be a really good opportunity to sign Forster as he wants to leave Celtic who could be our keeper for the next 8-9 seasons, and if we offered Boruc who has been a brilliant signing for us we could get him for 3-4m which would be a great signing in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Spills the balls the snodgrass free kick was a school boy error the yoshida thing was even worse all I can say is thank god for Boruc

Surplus to Requirements

5 DF Jos Hooiveld*
6 DF Jos Fonte*
11 FW Billy Sharp
13 DF Danny Fox
14 MF Dean Hammond
21 FW Guly do Prado
22 DF Frazer Richardson
25 DF Danny Seaborne
27 MF Richard Chaplow
28 MF Calum Chambers
29 MF Ben Reeves
32 DF Danny Butterfield
33 MF Steve De Ridder
39 MF Lloyd Isgrove

* Either One, more likely to shift Jose not sure who would want Jos

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lloyd Isgrove and Calum Chambers are under 21's and pretty good ones at that. They don't need to be going anywhere yet because they don't count in the 25 man squad and frankly Chambers looks like he could develop into something special on the right side of the pitch.

As for your either/or option on Fonte and Hooiveld. Surely you would rather keep Fonte? He is good with his head and actually isn't that clumsy and the best games our defence had this season were the ones where the partnership at the back was Fonte and Yoshida. Hooiveld is the clumsy 3 own goal scoring and regular penalty conceder on the side.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the Calum chambers who's currently playing for England at his age level and a star of the future? Yh ok then.
BB

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Chambers and Isgrove go? They were on the bench the final game. Maybe on loan, but they won't be released. I'm not certain about Reeves, but I think he may stay because of his versatility.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryan Dickson
Aaron Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Lloyd Isgrove is going no where. He has a good future ahead of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

With an attitude like that, suggest you find another team to "support".

"Surplus to requirements"

"Shift" players

" not sure who would want Jos"

Easy to "manage" a team on a computer, but the worst job for any manager with any integrity is to tell players that they don't fit into his plans. I hope that when MP comes to do it he shows a little more empathy than you have demonstrated.

Agree0 Disagree0

You have left out Forren you remember the guy we paid 4 million for and has'nt played a game yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather keep Jose Fonte, was probably the best defender who wasn't bought in this season. Thought he looked quite composed and has more pace than Jos Hooiveld

Agree0 Disagree0

Fonte should be in our starting 11 in my opinion so I think he should stay and Reeves, Isgrove and Chamber all have bright futures ahead of them so will definetly stay, Reeves I think needs a full season of Championship football as does Arron Martin too, but add Ryan Dickson to that list as he hasn't played for us in years

Not as exiting but still. Players Leaving saints

Chung : FC Tokyo
Seabourne - Bournemouth
Billy Sharpe - Leeds, Forest or Reading
Gaston - Juve
Fox - Reading

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Gaston isn't leaving

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see Gaston going anywhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gaston recently bought a house in romsey, he wouldn't of bothered if he wanted to go

Agree0 Disagree0

We will bring some extra quality to the side in the transfer window. As a result hopefully Gaston will shine next season

Saints will sign the following, and let go of the following

In:
Forster GK
Jesus Gamez RB
Astori and Kouyate at CB
Danny Rose LB/LM
Wanyama CDM
Lamela and Sinclair RW/LW
Adam Maher CAM
Lukaku and Kone ST

OUTS
Fox
Richardson
Hooiveld
De Ridder
Lee
Sharp
Hammond
Seabourne
Forte
Dickson
Reeves
Chaplow

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I really hope this is a wish list rather than you actually believing we will buy these players.

How much do you think we are planning on spending?!

Just a few of them off the top of my head the absolute MINIMUM we will have to pay for the following:

Lamela. £15m
Lukaku. £15m
Wanayama. £10m
Danny Rose. £5m
Astori. £8m
Sinclair. £4m
Gamez. £3m

That's pushing £60million already if we paid dirt cheap for those players. In reality add another £20m onto that figure.

I like your ambition, but get real!

Agree0 Disagree0

Total nonsense. We aren't signing Forster in goal, more likely to sign MacCarthy and that isn't going to happen. Also think Danny Rose won't be signed and I can't see us bringing in 11 new players this summer as we aren't QPR.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not just ditch our whole squad in one go

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs will keep Danny Rose if AVB has any sense at all. Hopefully these silly posts will dry up after the school holidays have finished

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps their parents are Popmey fans!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whole new team then. Ummmmmmmmmmmm, don't think so somehow!!

rumours on twitter last night and on portugese papers saying pochittino has been offered the Benfica job. ant thoughts or anybody call tell us more. ed? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware no job offer was made, just a quiet inquiry as to whether or not he was available for consideration. I am told they were advised to look elsewhere.}
