Just seen on talk sport rickie is holding off talking about transfer until definately finalised. To me that sounds ominous. worried he is about to slate board or something similar. We don't need that at this point as already in fairly unstable state. Hope I am wrong but it would harm incoming manager whoever it is and I also want to remember rickie as legend.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You realise of course that Rickie will have had to set all this is motion months ago?

So the leg end has been playing for us knowing he was leaving.

Worse he did a lap of 'honour' knowing he was leaving, knowing what it would do to us.

So, nothing to do with MP going.

And he wants to make sure that when he plays in the world cup, he does so as a Liverpool player, not a Saints player.

He could have waited, played it as a Saints player as a nod to us for where he is now, but no.

And that I find really sad!

Block34 youve got it all wrong as regards SRL leaving. First of all whether Liverpool like it or not , he cannot complete his transfer until the 1st of July, in other words he remains a Saints player during the world cup.The transfer only came about during contact between the clubs with regard to Lallana, who sadly may yet join Rickie in Liverpool if they are prepared to pay 30 million. The other more attratice prospect is selling Lallana to Spurs as I think the interest in Townsend is real.

Smell the coffee, mcs, smell the coffee

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't anyone else notice in his brief interview that Rickie put his foot in his mouth. When asked what Gerrard has said to him, he said they've been talking for a few months.

Hi guys,

Me, I don't think lallana or shaw will leave, and I don't think it's doom as gloom
Lallana also said he wouldn't lodge a request
Dejan said he loves the club
Morgan said he would NEVER lodge a transfer request
And Nathaniel wouldn't leave

SInce rickie has almost gone rumors are circling around about Ings, for me I am sad rickie is leaving but who could deny him this oppertunity!
Don't get overworked, I honestly think lallana will stay and the board won't let him go for them to only recieve £18 million after they've given Bournemouth 25%!

Don't get too worried

Completely agree Charlie :)

I hope your right but look at what I have heard on the rumour page. As I say I hope you are right but I'm sorry very unlikely.

Any more manager news? Poyet's a no go as he's signed a new Sunderland contract, my favourite Yakin seems like he's about to sign for Spartak Moscow, Paul Clement could be a gamble worth taking as he's Real Madrid asistant coach and could have some good links with players but is still unproven, not sure about Koeman he's Feyenoord, but struggled in previous jobs at Benefica and Valencia, Eddie Howe would be quite good, good attacking football at least, De Boer would be perfect if we could get him, but maybe to ambitious, Roberto Di Matteo could be good and Macclaren has done brilliantly with Derby but will he take us to the next level? Tough one to call, thoughts?

I'm not sure about Koeman. He's got good experience and he'll command some respect for his playing career, but I can't forget the player revolt he completely mishandled at Valencia. Of course, he has done very well in Holland since then. It's really very hard to get an idea what he'd be like at Saints.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I would like to see koeman come in now as it's a big name, any manager is a gamble, also Oscar Garcia could be a good shout

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree didn't mention Garcia, good progression throughout all the clubs he's managed out, another good up and coming manager

Might get some stick for this but like the post if you think James Milner from man city would fit into our team, he's 28 and we could probably get him quit cheap.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Milner is a workhorse with only middle-of-the-road talent. I really don't see what he offers that we don't already have (and more) in the likes of Davis, Cork, Ward-Prowse, and hopefully Reed.

Right everyone needs to calm down, over the last month we have been bombarded with speculation and so called done deals, so far the manager has gone which is a major blow and now it looks like Rickie is going too which is also a big blow as he's a club legend, but I feel like Liverpool is the only club he'd leave us for and I'm happy he'll fulfill his dream of playing at Anfield. NO ONE ELSE HAS GONE YET, Lambert is the only one who may go before we get a new manager in because Liverpool said they wouldn't make the same offer after the world cup, so it's Rickie's one chance to play for them so out of respect for Rickie we have accepted, no one else will go before we have a new manager in place, I hope it's Yakin personally, the board have said they want European football, have said we are in the best position this club has ever been in and that we have top players and managers knocking on the door, now let's just wait for a new manager and watch our stars at the world cup

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Les Reed and Saints could be taken for mugs by Liverpool. Ricky Lamberts FEE supposedly includes add ons, but who needs add ons with Rickys age? we should have taken £9m upfront. If Ricky wanted the move then live with that. After all he is a BIG BOY at 32.
Rickys an English centre forward going to the World Cup. £4m is a laugh.
The add ons offset money held back by Liverpool can now be added to the Lallana offer from them, and then its Saints who are funding the sell on money for Bournemouth. If Ricky does not play enough to earn us the add ons, then there are non. Or Liverpool get to pay off the add ons in a time frame to suit them not us. This would be a marvellous BOG OFF deal for Liverpool and we Saints help them buy our Captain! So tell Liverpool that they can BOG OFF themselves. Lallana is more difficult to replace, and after the World Cup, he could be a £40m plus player anyway??
Those in charge at St Marys must be very careful in how they deal with their Companies VALUABLE ASSETS.
Us fans don't get a say in the matter but they should understand that we are not fools!!

Agree0 Disagree0

40 million
I`m going to be laughing all week, tyvm

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh he's not gunna be worth 40m is he, Liverpool have made a take it or leave 25m bid apparantly, so hopefully we leave it and move on

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll stop watching football if Lallana goes for anything above £25m. He's not even worth more than £12m! A 26yr old who's just had one decent season in the EPL with no top class experience whatsoever. Jeez! He'll go anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lallana is worth 25 million in today's market. In fact he is worth what someone is willing to pay. For me not 40 but if Fellani I is worth 27.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but Fellani is NOT worth £27m - they overpaid by £10m for him - it was well documented. And ManUtd will always overpay for every player - Shaw included - that's the problem for ManUtd - if they come knocking and they want a player they will never get the deal done on the cheap. They have offered Shaw £100k a week - that's mad for a nearly 19 year old who has not scored a goal or even had an assist that I can remember.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - disagree with always over pay for players. Bold statement in our starting team last year Rafael cost pittance, Smalling /Jones were only 12/16 mill Vidic was less than 10 as was Evra both of which have been in world team of the year more than once each I think. Carrick has 3/4 premierships, champions league trophy along with many other awards and cost 16 million. Hernandez, RVP, kagawa, De gea were all relatively cheap for their abilities. Though there are obvious examples Anderson, Nani, Fellaini and Young were all over paid but each of them except Fellaini has won major trophies at utd. Rooney and rio have been worth their fees over their careers at manutd. Every team makes poor decisions but a bit naive to stay manutd always over pay. Fellaini is the perfect example of a panic buy. The club couldn't agree deals for Herrera, Fabregas, Thiago or De Rossi that summer + many more we will never know about}

We need to turn this ship around.
Bid for. Wilfried bony 14 mill perfect replacement for the 1 paced lambert. Eder balanta brill river plate and Columbia cb 6 mill will huges 8 mill. costel pantilimon free. let's stop getting on like a dead duck.!

I'm certain that there will be no first-team purchases until a new manager has been hired. No inside info, just common sense.

Based around journalist talk on twitter Saints have told Liverpool they want at least £20 million for Lallana taking into account that Bournemouth take 25% meaning Liverpool must bid up to 30 million to get the deal done. Sounds good but we fans value Lallana much higher than that! He's homegrown, has a good future for England ahead of him now, is the most influential player for Saints now Rickie is on his way, and given that this is the same team that was once willing to bid £35 million for Carroll Saints should be after double what they're asking. I know that's unrealistic but surely that's the point in keeping hold of your players, make them priceless.

Read that upto. 9 could be out the door at this rate going to have to beg guly to resign, maybe clutching at straws here but hopefully got a manager lined up from left field no one expected and just securing funds for his target signings

Have just read that Bristol Rovers get 20% of the Lambert fee.
This would be fine if we were getting 8-10 million for him as was first believed.
If it is true that we are getting only 4m for him what an absolute joke, 3.2m to replace an unreplaceable asset.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rumour has it players/staff weren't paid bonuses by kl for finishing 8th in epl as promised this is what started uproar, poch and players furious

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we get any money from spurs selling bale?if not why do all these other clubs seem to be sensible and put these clauses in place?

Agree0 Disagree0

No because lowe sold the sell on clause rights to pocket some money

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you did get a cut from it due to new rules intended to support clubs who have spent time developing players. I think it was 5% if I remember rightly.}

Was it not 2. 5% ed as I believe spurs also retained 2. 5% as part of his development

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it might well be, I know there was a 5% cut due for his development, not sure how it was divided.}

31 May 2014 18:59:41
The million that lowe sold bales clauses for kept the club going long enough for Liebherr and Cortese to come in. I'd rather that than 15 mil spread over 5 years, when let's face it, we don't particularly need it

Arsenal fans here.
Feel really bad for you guys at the moment, loved your lot last season a true pleasure to watch, even if you're paying the price now.
Firstly, do you think you'll buy replacements or promote more youth?
Secondly, (sorry to rub it in) but you lot think Schneiderlin is on his way to Arsenal? Or just something persons on our page have made up?
Good luck next season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Combo of both I think, signings to replace those who go and youth to fill the rest

Can't see Morgan going, everything about him supposedly wanting to leave has been misquoted - same with most players really

You reckon Arsenal will need him? Managed to keep up with everyone else with a lot of your first team missing, could be the dark horses this year imo, have a go for Yaya instead haha

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we need him yeah, we need a defensive midfielder and I think he's better than Lars Bender, who we are currently linked with.

Honestly come on, we can't get rid off our players, if we get rid off lambert shaw lallana lovren spiderman Jrod, then where does that leave our team? That leaves us with very few players so I don't think they will all go because the amount of players we let go I garente you we will not buy the same amout off others players of same ability or better.

Liverpool have made a final £25 million bid for Adam Lallana according to the beeb. Southampton would be due £18. 75 million of that and the rest to Bournemouth. For the love of god Krueger and co, prove me wrong and tell them to hop off.

With Lambert for £4 million (plus add-ons) and this that'd be the bulk of our attack wiped out for £23 million (plus add-ons). I don't think I need to ask whether or not that's worth it.
