Why is lee barnard being let go, crazy.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Na sharp,jay rod,lee,lambert,guly > Barnard

Agree5 Disagree0

They reckon they can get a fair sum off of him, plus he wouldn't get too many games with Rodriguez, Lambert, Lee, Sharp and Guly being preferred to him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Because our new formation means we only have one striker on the pitch (4-3-2-1) and secondly we have Rodriguez, Lambert, Lee and Sharp all ahead of him. how many strikers do you want?

Who else thinks we will finish 14 or above? Because i feel confident about this season and although it maybe considered a bit optimistic, we could finish 7th or 8th?

Believable3 Unbelievable7

I reckon we may at least get into the top 10, good solid squad and good potential with the right attitude. Also given the age of the players the team will only get better as the season progresses.

Agree1 Disagree5

After the Ajax game I feel very encouraged as that was there first team so I think well do well next season. when we have an established strick pair and formation and starting 11 with a few more defenders we could take the prem like storm.

Agree2 Disagree6

Wow, European slots? dont get cocky just because we got promoted! and was 2nd! you should be happy if we dont get relegated in the first season.

I think you might want to change your name to pessimistic saint, Southampton are looking a strong side. I agree Europe is unlikely but with the team looking the way it is I'd doubt a relegation scrap. Probably wind up mid-table.

Agree3 Disagree5

Dont see how i can get 'disagrees' for saying euro spots in our of our league for a first season in the premier league. For a first season in the premier league with a young and inexperienced squad, it will only get better, but still, our hope has to be to remain in the Premier League or we will have to start again. Not pessimistic at all. we only have 2 CB's. if one gets injured, what do we do? if we have a strong squad, what do Newcastle have? what do Man City have? yes our squad is good, but please remember we are up against the worlds best here.

Agree4 Disagree1

I know they are the worlds best my disagreement isn't with you saying Southampton won't get into europe my disagreement is with you saying we should be happy just to not go down when we are better than at least 5 sides in that league maybe more.

I understand we need a centre back but I would rather wait longer then get the wrong one. Look at Arsenal last year, needed a centre back, panic bought Per Mertesacker, wasn't suited at all for the premier league, got dropped. that cost them 10mil ( I Think), so stop worrying, do you think they're just ignoring the fact we have 3 centre backs, we currently look very strong in preseason. keep the faith

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We have been scouting for ages though, I think why people are frustrated is that we knew we needed defenders ages ago and yet we've not seemed to have interests in any of them.

Agree5 Disagree1

Yes but you don't know whether we don't have interest in defenders, the chances are we do

Agree1 Disagree0

I know the chances are we do, my point is that the frustrations are in the fact we haven't managed to get any defenders wether or not we've been scouting, if we didn't scout properly then that's foolish but really we should've gotten the deals done by now if we did. One or the other is at fault cause we've known our defence is weak for a while now.

Agree1 Disagree1

Nigel has openly said on numerous occassions that we are interested in a few defenders. must be a case of agreeing a fee then signing the contract which is never easy. keep the faith - although i know time is running out for signings as well as gelling with the others!

Regarding the saints " fans " who are throwing doubt on our season before we kick a ball, especially Rickie doubters... Okay so did you actually watch last years pre season or the year before. Our best strikers in last pre season looked to be Jon Forte and Connolly (so this should tell you a lot). It took Rickie the entire of pre season to get fit, but he did and come the second game of the season he and The while team never looked back. I actually think he looked fitter and more aware at this stage of pre season against Ajax than he did last year. So if you don't have a clue about the saints team and are just a JCL mouthing off now we are in the prem then do us all a favor, go support the grubby little charity thieves down the road and STFU! God knows they have so many cnuts, one more wont be noticed.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Bit harsh about the 'people down the road' but anyway. I completely agree they are just warming up for the season which is the entire point of the pre-season... I mean this year I reckon we've got better than Lambert in Rodriguez I reckon the pair of them will be unstoppable in some of the games, possibly not scoring hundreds past City but wait for Wigan they should hit more than we did past Coventry :P COYR's

Agree3 Disagree0

Comment above is ridiculous look at the calibre of opposition we have played against. Guessing you have never played the game yourself with your input
