Hi lads. Liverpool fan here in peace.

Last August we were linked with Dusan Tadic a lad I hear you are now close to signing. Well whilst LFC were chasing him I wrote a player review on him and I thought I'd share it with you in case some of you haven't seen much of him. Apologies that it's a year out of date, but he's still the same player!

"I will start off with Tadic. He is a 24 year old, Serbian attacker who currently plays for FC Twente. Last season he was my favourite play in the league. He is incredibly skilful and the most creative player in the league by far. Only Dries Mertens assisted more than him last season, but Mertens is quite one dimensional (limited to crossing). Tadic has a knack for playing dainty little through balls on the edge of the 18 yard box. As well as this, he often plays his team mates in behind the defence for a clear one on one chance. He can also add crossing to his list of deadly creative abilities though, being very accurate in picking out his man. Despite not being lightning fast, he is faster than the average player, and is particularly good at short bursts to get round a man, or beat a defender to a lose ball. He is also quite capable with his weaker foot, despite being predominantly right footed. He chips in with quite a lot of goals, being a tidy finisher in the box. If I had to compare him to someone to give you a better idea of his playing style, I'd say our very own Coutinho is a good example. Tadic spent a lot of his career in lesser leagues, meaning I cannot find his full career statistics. However he has spent the last 3 years in Dutch football for Groningen and Twente. During that 3 year spell he can boast an impressive record of 29 goals and 50 assists in 117 games. That equates to a goal every 4. 03 games and an assist every 2. 34 games. His statistics for last season suggest that goal to games ratio is improving, with him scoring 15 goals and assisting 19 in 41 games! If you apply his overall ratios to a 38 game season though, he comes out with (to the nearest whole number) 16 assists and 9 goals. Very good for a 24 year old. He has been on quite a steep improvement in recent years which suggests to me, that even if he were to make the step up to a top league, he would adjust accordingly and maintain his form. He would probably be valued at around £10m by Twente, and I think he'd be a good buy for any premier league team. "

I'm sorry to see your team being dismantled btw guys. I'm hoping you will get in a few shrewd buys like Tadic though and that it won't dent your progression. Loved watching you last year and in my opinion, United just paid £30m for your second most promising left back because Targett is even better! Good luck next season and I hope to see you guys up in the top 7/8 again.

Cheers for your kind words - looks to be good value for the money! Good luck for the season!

Very nice of you to come on here and comment and thanks for the kind words. If you manage to leave us with any players after this summer it would be greatly appreciated and this guy from what you have said would be a fine addition so thanks for the review.

Hope Lambert turns out to be a real success at Liverpool and you guys do well next season, was very disappointed myself to see Liverpool fall short this year. Would be nice to have the name of a non Manchester club back on the trophy next season, also will be rooting for you lot in Europe. Good luck for next season.

I think the saints board are cleverer than most might think, even though we have lost most of our key players we've made clubs like Liverpool and united pay far too much for them. Shaw, despite his ability and what his future could be, £27-33 million for him was too much, and united fans are so happy, but they don't really realise what that money does for a club like Southampton. We will spend wisely which is also why we have been making low bids for people like pelle, to get top class players for a low price.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No offence, but I don't.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you in part, they were good at holding out for a bargain, but they made the mistake of telling us the money was to be re-invested because that means clubs selling us players will know we can pay more and will demand higher prices for their players.

Although without those reassurances they wouldn't have sold many season tickets so it's a bit of a lose-lose situation for the board having let those players go, although maybe with little choice regarding letting them go as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

So jof, can you explain (in facts) what the board have done wrong?

Agree0 Disagree0

Selling players that want to go - fine. Putting in low bids for players - not clever. If we want them, pay the fee which is what I'm sure we were / are telling Liverpool, Manchester United and the like.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jof surely it is clever though. Saints are doing what every team does, trying to get the cheapest price, particularly from two teams who don't really have the financial muscle to say no to our very reasonable bids in any case. If Saints are given an inflated price for one of their targets they simple won't sign them. The board is very shrewd like that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shrewd or s. t

Agree0 Disagree0

I just think that the longer it goes on without players coming in spells trouble. What about all these players LR identified months ago? I really don't think losing 3 or 4 key players without any coming in to directly replace them or strengthen the squad is clever. If we've already done deals with a number of the Dutch squad and are waiting for them to be eliminated or win the thing before announcing it - then that's clever.

Getting particularly excited by the prospect of Tadic now as a few things I have read has said he may be better than Lallana and has just come off the back of an unbelievable season, will be a quality signing, just hope we can finalize some deals soon! And also get Corky and Fonte on new contracts

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah Tadic should be a very good signing and that pelle fella too. Still need a few more though so the board have to sort it soon Tadic fee was agreed last week so should be announced soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Tadic fee was agreed according to Newspapers a week ago, plus there is no guarantee he will be happy with contract terms offered by saints or the situation the club currently appears to be in or that other clubs wouldn't interest him more with Sevilla among those interested apparently (but also apparently not willing to match the offer we made for him). Basically a lot of things to get through before the transfer could happen. If it has then well done to the board to snap up such a talent but it's not always so simple.

Lots of talk going around that southampton have up the game for cardiff city number 1 david marshell and said to belive that they are going to put in a bid around 13.5 million for him if this is true then he would be a great signing for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ter Stegen signed for barce for 10 million and we're going to pay 13. 5 for Marshall?

Agree0 Disagree0

13.5 million for Marshall haha he will become I think the 4 highest paid for goalkeeper in the world just behind neur and de gea

What happened to all these players chomping at the bit to join us Mr Reed?
I have never in all my time of watching football ever heard of a team have so many first team players leave! Except in relegation maybe!
It dose not take a expert to realise that's something massive has happened at the club!
We need someone to break the silence
And give the supporters a real view of the future and not a candy coated version! The Truth please!
I've run out of blind faith! And stripes on a shirt don't cut it!
I want to believe it's all going to be good in the end but am unconvinced from what I've seen so far!
Please please prove me wronge!
This is southampton and we are the saints!
