A lot of rumours flying around on twitter tonight that talks with Koeman have broken down and saints are seeking an alternative

Hope that isn't true

Had a look and couldn't see anything, heard his agent said: "Pochettino has laid an excellent foundation. Ronald is the ideal man to build that further. " And that he is not in talks with WBA but that's all I saw on twitter

Coyr sign up koeman and announce it, don't end up with ranieri or anyone else. Just appoint him this week and announce it. Coyr silence is bad.

If I was the new southampton manager the 3 striker a I would sign are

Pelle
Lukaku
Ings

I would sign these 3 striker 1) because we need more squad depth 2) they all bag in goals 3) we got the money to sign players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We don't need 3 strikers 2 max as we still have Gallagher coming through

Morning eds if osvaldo goes on loan again does the loan club pay us anything or just cover his wages?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - depends on the deal agreed between the two clubs. Usually, when it is a senior player, the club taking them on loan will at least pay part of his wages. They may even cover all the wages and pay a fee to take a player on loan. It really depends on the circumstances.}

Ok cheers

I don't pretend to be very good or adept at knowing much about different managers or what they could bring to us. Could people let me know what they think Koeman could bring to our club that others cant. Do people think that he would be the person to push the team forward

Has success in bringing through youth players to the first team while playing an exciting attacking brand of football. Feyenoord scored the most goals in the league last year coming 2nd with 5th or 4th highest budget. he would also likely bring in Pelle who could be a perfect replacement for Lambert

Thankyou. Fairly similar to pocahontas then in thpse regards.

Koeman's style is very similar to Poch's, quick attacking football, great with youth etc. , but, under Poch, there were times we should have gone with two up front, used a long ball or whatever, with Koeman we'll get that

That was one of my big criticisms of him. Play pretty football when a HOOOOF would have had more chance.

Agree with a previous poster: looks like the mass exodus has been delayed by the clubs insistence that no transfers will happen until after a manager has been appointed.

Suggestions are that the club is deliberately delaying the appointment until after the World Cup starts, to force a delay in any more player speculation. This might even allow a new managerial appointment to persuade players to stay.

However, Shaw confirms that he asked to leave Southampton. Shaw has admitted to the BBC that he told the club on 11 May that he wanted to leave.
What Shaw hasn't admitted to yet, is that his agent said the same back in January.

The feeling within the club is that Lallana will not be leaving this summer. Obviously this could all change but Saints & Koemans plans currently involve Adam.

The situation with Shaw is strange. He is willing to stay but also wants to move to Utd. The situation is relaxed as saints feel in control of the situation & will accept a bid high enough but if they don't get the right price, they won't sell. Luke is relaxed too, his feeling is that if a move doesn't happen this summer it most probably will next.

You have a good reliabe ource for this info Rocket mate, seems very plausible and positive

Thanks for the info, similar to what I have been told. two points though.

shaw - I believe 30 million with MT coming through and potentially better is very good business (IMO).

Lallana - my source has said he is so intent on moving to Liverpool that before the would cup was becomming a negative effect on the other players mindset, again at 30 million I wouldn't mind if it meant Koeman had more money to spend.

Have to say I agree. I was told Lallana had been quite vocal in wanting the move. I would rather Shaw went and kept Lallana. But. Its a lot of money for the two players and could really help bring in some proven players whilst allowing us to push the youngsters
