Timothee Kolodziejczac looks as if he will take over from Shaw and he looks like a very promising prospect.

Bazz

1.) Gonna have trouble getting that on the back of a shirt.

2.) He is known as Kolo so no worries about that we just need to sign him.

3.) Let's look at it £30 (+) is a massive amount for a 18 year left back. Don't get me wrong I think he's more then worth it thinking over next 10 years. But wow we already have 35+ million from sales to whatever Koeman was offered in first place. Tadic looks some player and perhaps a move for caulker at heart of defence plus another if lovern leaves, pelle up top and kolo left back means we will still have shed loads of cash and are we really any worse off? Yes it will take them time to settle etc but what a opportunity to spend on improving whole squad. Then we have Morgan victor Lallana and co, now just me thinking out load but with the money we have and players we could bring in then that might well make them want to stay and well if not the they can do one and players in who do. For me personally this is a massively positive mind and at the end of the game we have great youngsters coming through who now have a better chance of playing. I know many won't agree but well let's belt up and enjoy the ride!

He seems a good temporary fill in, whilst waiting for Matt Targett to stake his claim for the LB spot. I'm only going the hype about MT, but it's said he would have got the LB spot ahead of LS but for an injury, would anybody like to expand on this?

5.) To do a bit of financial analysis.
the future value of £5m in a 3% interest rate for 4 years / end of contract / is ~ £40m. Plus the revenue costs of £70k a week (if true prob not) - then that is another £14.5m - so its good business - let's take the money.

6.) Kolo, Kolo Kolo, Kolo Kolo, Kolo Kolo Timothee!

7.) Except Southampton won't receive £30 million as a lump sum. It's paid in instalments, usually over 2 years nowadays.

Not a problem. When Saints spend, it will be in a similar manner

8.) I think Taggart will be ready next year and I expect him to be in the 11, he'll be the break through players like Chambers was last year

It seems that Ronald Koeman is in the running for Saints manager. according to the bookies

Bazz

1.) 28 May 2014 15:13:19
Koeman is a good name. He will have great scouting links across Holland and Belgium and Ghana too - they run a huge academy as well and base the club on developing home grown talent - Koeman would fit the Saints like a hand in a glove. You will not even remember Poccetino in 2 seasons time. I am 100% behind this choice.

2.) Regardless of who the next manager is he will need to prevent Pochetno poaching our best players. I just hope our board had enough sense to add a standard clause in his release preventing him from signing our players fo a while

3.) He's just resigned As well. Anything in it ED? Nice comments from Ralph today, I hope the new boss is decent and is appointed soon and we keep our players and sign decent ones. Is yakin an option?

4.) 28 May 2014 20:23:40
Never forgiven him for that free kick he scored. Shouldn't have been on the pitch!

5.) 29 May 2014 08:20:53
Koeman is a very good shout, the fact that he's a bit of an older guy too helps. As he is less likely to use us as a stepping stone like MP did, he's been there, done that managed in the CL

6.) Is he any good? I just hope we get a decent manager

Soares maybe coming to saints, I expect Jose Fonte may have had a helping contribution.

Bazz

1.) 17 Jun 2015 19:52:17
If he has, that's got to be a first. Last season it seemed that every Saints player who got picked for their national team, then left us.

2.) 18 Jun 2015 14:45:43
I've heard a fair few sporting fans saying he's very overrated. Yet big clubs have shown interest in him. I trust the saints scouts though, as they've probably seen more of him than sporting's own fans

3.) 21 Jun 2015 19:44:24
You mean the black box lol
Or do u mean the same scouts that see Forren,De ridder and mayuka .

I thought that Chambers moved to arsenal because Clyne was the number one choice, aware of this Clyne should work out his contract.

Bazz

1.) Clyne and chambers were very much rotated in the last season. I don't think there was much between them in my personal opinion. You can't blame clyne for wanting to move to a bigger club, let's just hope he has the foresight to see that he is already at one, more importantly, actually getting regular games at one too!

2.) Nah chambers left because he's the same as Lallana, Lovren, Shaw - found out about the arsenal interest, didn't want to stay the club, kicked up a fuss and got sold onto 'better' things

Saying that I don't think there's any real truth in the Clyne rumours just yet. Club won't sell anyone in Jan and can't see anyone wanting to leave *if* we get top 4

If katharina Liebherr can pocket most of the money from the transfer deals this season and hang on until this present crop of youngsters can be sold off she can sell in a year or so with bags of money. this seems to be what's going on unless some of the cash is spent soon. I hope I'm wrong.

Bazz

1.) You're very, very wrong

2.) 04 Aug 2014 19:37:52
Sadly Bazz I think you are oh so right

3.) I'm starting to think Bazz might be right

26 Jul 2014 13:36:36
You have to ask why saints fans are being treated totally like S***, the club put up the season tickets by 4% and then instigated a fire sale to make as much money for the owners by selling their best players. their "open policy" as turned into a "for sale" policy. perhaps the owners might get the message if no saints supporters turn up for the first home match of the season.

So where's all the new players, four weeks or less until the start of the season, plenty of rumours but nothing concrete, Koemans a fool if he thinks the youngsters can take on the likes of man utd, arsenal etc. I can see relegation and apologies in the offing if nothing happens mighty quick, it's not as if we haven't got any money. £100M in the kitty and about £20M spent. get on with it.

Bazz

1.) You just can't win anything with kids.

2.) Its quite obvious we are being sold for parts.

3.) What makes you think that Koeman is expecting to rely only on youth? One thing is for sure he knows a lot more about football than you. I know this summer has been frustrating so far, but there is still time. For some of the players the writing has been on the wall for sometime and I'm sure the club have known that long before we have. So I'm sure replacements are close. Have some faith. Koeman is not going to set himself up to look a mug, come the Liverpool game he'll be prepared. There's no doubt next season is going to be a transitional period, but with our great support I'm sure we will be comfortable.

I agree with the majority of what you say, although regarding career opportunities you only have to look back at previous managers at spurs over recent times, can he put them into the top four. definitely not.

It does seem odd that the club are willing to spend £30M on a new training ground but don't seem to portray this ambition going foreword regarding theplaying side of things to the supporters.

Possibly Moyes. he has a decent record, Manchester United was never going to be the utopia that he hoped for and could be a way back for him in the Prem at a realistic level.

In retrospect I think Poch decided that he was going to leave when Cortese went, he stayed for the benefit of the players. he will not do so well at Spurs, the players that really shone at Saints were in place when he arrived.
