Buttner deal is back on :D 3rd party issue is resolved. inside info . what this space - chris

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Rumour has it he's off to Borussia Dortmund

Agree2 Disagree11

Well, I suppose it Dortmund are willing to pay the "third party"...

Agree2 Disagree4

Na don't lie he's not going to dortmund because he would be 2nd choice as they already have Marcel Schmelzer

Agree4 Disagree1

Hope so great player

Summers

Agree2 Disagree1

His agent is still confident of a deal going ahead. He says that it's all sorted and it is now just up to Southampton to decide if they still want him.

Agree5 Disagree0

Not inside info, it's on the back page of the echo

Agree2 Disagree0

Dortmund isnt intrested. told you last night it has been resolved, and today the news has broke that it has. told you i have inside info ;) .
its to do with someone else whos owed money from the transfer, but not an agent.. saints have delt with it, so now we hope a medical can finally go ahead. - chris

Agree2 Disagree0

Rumour has it the comment above is dumb?
are you stupid our offer was accepted, the third party wanted more money for him, Vitesse are sorting it out and hope to get it sorted out so that the players dreams of joining the premier league arnt dashed!! the third party isn't another team, its part of the club! and anyway if you believe that then you would believe the steven davies deal has fallen through! even though he has signed, thanks to the sun that is posting s**te

Agree3 Disagree0

Well said spoon

Summers ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris, Saints haven't dealt with it. It was dealt with on Vitesse's end, they are splitting transfer funds, it's a marginal percentage though.

Saints still in same position and haven't had to do any work on this, we just need to conduct medical and decide if we still want Buttner same as before. From a Saints perspective the only difference is that it was delayed by a day, other than that it has been nothing to do with us and we haven't had to lift a finger.

JJ

Agree3 Disagree0

May have been on back of echo today, but i announsed it last night before anything went to print. buttner deal wont happen today ! - chris

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks Summer :)
Tbh i do read the Sun to see what it says as somethings can be believed but today when it said that the Steven Davies deal was in threat of falling through i just laughed so hard i nearly cried, i mean he's SIGNED, HE SIGNED LAST FRIDAY! i just love the sun and its storys might send them a message saying look on the saints website you dumb idiots :L #

Saints have been alerted to the availability of former midfielder rudi skacel who has said he wants to leave hearts and play in the premier leauge

Believable10 Unbelievable28

Hope your joking

Brooky

Agree10 Disagree5

Not a chance of him coming to us

Although to be fair to the original poster he did say "Sts have been alerted to the availability…"

Not good enough the first time around and certainly not good enough now!

Agree12 Disagree1

It won't happen, he's too old

Agree7 Disagree1

Not a chance, seem to remember that Skacel, Rasiak, Saganowski, Baird, Surman and Jones could wait to leave, these guys aren't fit to lace Super KD's Lallana or Schneiderlins Premier league boots let alone put the Southampton FC shirt on again.

Agree8 Disagree6

What would he offer to Saints? No better than what we already have and not exactly a young, hungry player! We now have the midfield experience with the signing of Davis.

Saint Martin

Agree3 Disagree0

Dude, what are you chatting about. Surman was a true saint who was forced to leave as we needed the transfer money due to administration. Seriously. Makes me ashamed to be a saints fan when you slag off players unjustly.

Agree15 Disagree3

Poster above is bang on

Agree9 Disagree1

SaintsWeb inside joke? ;-)

Agree5 Disagree2

Thank you, but it does annoy me when people say that, especially about Surman!

Southampton are in advanced talks with Wolves over a deal worth £10m for Jarvis and Roger Johnson.

Believable14 Unbelievable12

Johnson had a nightmare last season
Jollyv

Agree8 Disagree2

That's was my comment btw^ sorry. Dh

Mini-saint

Agree4 Disagree1

Could kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Although
Johnson had a poor last season in a poor side, a fresh start in an up and coming side could rejuvenate him into the good defender he has been in previous seasons. And if we could pinch Jarvis from under the noses of other sides we would have a player who can put in great crosses for our strikers. coyr Jimbo

Agree4 Disagree2

Nattnieal clyne and wilfred zaha both said they would both rather go to reading-daily mail

Agree3 Disagree10

I hope so, imo Johnson is quite a strong defender and has experience and Jarvis the best winger in the championship ;)

Agree5 Disagree2

Can see this happening and just because he had one bad season doesn't mean hes awful

Agree5 Disagree0

Partnered with Scot Dann at Birmingham, on both season they had very good defensive records

Agree5 Disagree1

Not too sure on Johnson, but Jarvis would be perfect, and steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeveeeee would provide decent competition. Jarvis has pace, and a decent final ball, the only thing that De Ridder lacks. Don't know how much depth the rumour has to it, but would be great for us! - Sam R

Agree7 Disagree1

Just imagine in we did get R.Johnson and S.Dann they were a solid pairing for birmingham

Agree5 Disagree2

Javis would be a very good signing, we've been linked with him for a while now
Agreed go and grab the 2 of them Nigel

Chalkie

Agree4 Disagree1

It wouldn't be a bad deal this, well, the Jarvis bit anyway.

Johnson, had a bit of a donkey season last year and I'm not sure he'll ever recover properly?

Agree4 Disagree1

O.k just to clear this up, the comment that says:
I hope so, imo Johnson is quite a strong defender..... Is mine (mini-saint) and I sent that before I sent the message saying

That was my comment btw. Sorry ;)

Because I forgot to put my name after, only that comment popped up before the first comment to it doesn't make sense but hopefully it does now ;)

Agree1 Disagree1

Why have Saints arranged a friendly with Wolves, pre-season??
Could be coincidence, or might be part of a larger deal?

Saint Martin

Agree4 Disagree1

The only reason both Dann and Johnson looked so good at Brum was because Mcleish played 10 men behind the ball every game, any decent championship defender would look good in that system

Agree3 Disagree1

Jarvis has destroyed all the top right backs over the last 3 seasons. Like all wingers can be a little inconsistant would be a great signing for you but johnson is no better than an average to decent championship player. He also has a ba attitude, if i were you i woul give him avery wide berth or do us a favour and take the plonker.

Agree3 Disagree0

we will be signing gary hooper from celtic for 9 million in the next 2 weeks we also could be signing former rangers player madjid bougherra to tighten up our defence would cost about 3.5million but his wage could put the deal off correspondent tyrone who is my uncle {Ed038's Note - No more Source's}

Believable3 Unbelievable21

Why would we need another striker? We already have Lambert, Lee, Sharp, JRod, Guly and even Barnard if we're desperate.

Agree10 Disagree4

We wont know how things will turn until first few game, a lot of our players are versatile so could end up with only 3 strikers meaning needing another

Agree4 Disagree5

We possibly do need one more striker... But one with a proven track record in the premier league! Not one from the SPL! Strikers from SPL don't fare well in the Prem... Look how Kenny Miller did at Derby

WH7 {Ed038's Note - Look at Jelavic}

Agree5 Disagree2

And Fletcher has done well in poor sides....

Agree0 Disagree3

Can see Everton chasing after Hooper-in which case they may need to sell Rodwell to fund it. So, there just might be some legs to the rumour of Rodwell to Saints!?

Saint Martin

Agree2 Disagree1

ED038 - deffo on Jelavic - there is a few prem clubs kicking themselves for not taken a punt on him!!!

I'm being told that Barnard will be sold along with Puch

ED38 - Anything on ince or phillips form blackpool

Chalkie {Ed038's Note - Southampton were interested in Ince and were told he is not for sale as for Phillips I don't know of any Interest from NA}

Agree1 Disagree0

That's true Ed, but far more often than not, Scottish league strikers struggle in the Prem. I'm just saying that NC and NA should try pursuing a proven prem striker. We have an up and coming star in Jay Rod, and a current star in Rickie, we just need an experienced Prem striker if we're going to buy another one

WH7

Agree4 Disagree0

Not all Scottish based strikers are that bad, Jelivic Rangers, Naismith Rangers, Fletcher Hibs, to name a few would make it in the EPL, and other players such as Davis, McGregor, Bocanegro Rangers, Kayal, Matthews, Ki, Brown Celtic, but WH7 is right they are not from every team, but there are good bargains to be had, another name Driver from Hearts is quite tasty

Looks like the deal for buttner has fallen through. as i reported yesterday, fee was agreed, wages agreed, but now a 3rd party has made an aditional demand (not sure who at this stage)
vitesse wont met this demand. only time will tell. - chris

Believable8 Unbelievable16

I don't think we will be signing Hooper. Didn't he say publicly that he wasn't interested last window. We don't want someone who doesn't want to come and will only come for money.

Lenny

Agree3 Disagree1

This is seriously frustrating to see as a lifelong saints fan with davis now buttner has any one got a clue who the third party or is this a greedy agent coyr need a couple more signings soon

Agree2 Disagree1

He's a young player so it wouldn't surprise me if it was his previous club Ajax looking for compensation or some sort of sell on fee.

Agree5 Disagree1

I've seen Hooper play and I don't think he is EPL class, Southampton are a good young side who play for each other, Hooper can be a lazy so & so, maybe your manager sees more in him, I know he played for him before but that was Championship big difference from EPL. {Ed038's Note - Hooper is a quality player and should have been at the euro's IMO,the only negative side of his game is that off the ball he can be very lazy if he works a lot harder he could be a top class striker.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Must admit I'm not convinced about Hooper making it big in EPL, but I do believe that Adkins would be the right guy to judge his potential and he does seem to be a big fan, so if we snap him up I would trust NA to get him performing. He certainly would not be allowed to be lazy off the ball with Saints!

Buttner deal in doubt as a third party won't let the deal go through. An agreement was made on friday but over the weekend, a third party as stopped/delayed the move.

Anyone know what's wrong with this buttner deal ?

Summers.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

A third party has blocked the deal.

Lenny

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm not completely sue but my interpretation was another club has come in to swoop him away at the last minute! I'm still not sure what is going on but Southampton want him they will keep bidding, he wants to go to saints so that's where he will choose to go!

Agree2 Disagree9

Its not a 3rd club, as buttner would quite simply say no to them.. plus it says "vitesse wont meet the 3rd partys demand" . so its not another club at all - chris

Agree5 Disagree5

Chris is right this is likely to be an agent demand. Saints can either walk away or try to negotiate the agent away - or alternatively check to see if agent has legal leg to stand on although my guess he has or Vitesse will have told him to go and do one,

Agree4 Disagree3

^That's how I read it too. I presume his agent has asked for a cut/fee from the transfer fee, but seeing that the player has publicly requested a move to Saints (and agents, if the managers/chairmen of this world are to be believed, often play a major role in the production of these sorts of press releases) Vitesse are unwilling to sanction it. I have no proof or sources, just my interpretation of what has been said in the press.
mssaint

Agree4 Disagree0

I hope it still goes through as he would be a great signing, can play left wing, left back and right back

Buttner deal now said to be uncertain due to the demands of a third party... Hence why we have heard nothing since Vitesse revealed they'd accepted our offer for the player.

It is unclear who this 3rd party is, but Buttner let the club know "via his agent".

Vitesse have said that Southampton have done absolutely nothing wrong and should not be blamed if the deal falls through.

It's quite hard to understand what is going on as Southampton, Vitesse and Buttner have all agreed and are happy with him joining the Saints.

Really hope the deal still happens.

WH7

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Theres always a stupid third party to ruin things!

Lenny

Agree5 Disagree0

Completely agree Lenny! It's probably agents saying the want their percentage cut of the deal...

Agree2 Disagree2

Another option could be that a club he was playing for in the past has made a claim for compensation? Ajax?

Saints have enquired about evertons seamus coleman

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Hope so, would be a good signing. done very well when on loan at blackpool and decent when back at everton.

Agree6 Disagree1

Hope not, we need pace, would prefer ince from blackpool
Nickb

Agree6 Disagree1

To the above comment who would prefer ince ? do you know football, because last time i checked, ince was an attacking midfielder, whilst coleman is a defender. i wouldnt play ince as centre back - chris

Agree1 Disagree5

Coleman is a right sided midfielder, not a defender.do ur research before u spout off.
Nickb

Agree6 Disagree0

Coleman can actually play as a RM/RB so there's truth in both posts! could be a good option for saints and kill 2 birds with one stone!

Agree5 Disagree2

Ive only ever known coleman to be a defender. - chris
