Does anyone know anymore about this ilegal aproach we made for matt phillips ? holloways reported us for the FA and NA has said hes done everything right.. as far as im concerned, both holloway and adkins are both honest men and dont lie. but something isnt quite right- chris

Believable2 Unbelievable1

The same honest holloway that said he lived Plymouth then went to Leicester the following week!?

Agree6 Disagree1

Just to say it is an unconfirmed club. The mail just jumped at the chance to blame Southampton. They had to pin it to someone to sound like they know what they are on about. I just think if they've guessed wrong they should be fined for false giving of information.

Agree3 Disagree1

For all his slapstick antics that fool almost everyone, Holloway is a whingy little git. Anyone remember the FA cup clash when we were in L1? We changed 10 players, they changed 9, and he uses the excuse of changing players as the reason for losing, not even complementing Saints on what was a dominant performance from two tiers below. They are always "little old Blackpool vs the big spenders" - you got promoted, stop whinging!!

Bottom line is he has found something to whinge about to the press and probably will for years to come.

Rant over.

Agree4 Disagree2

Before you start to slag off are manager up in Blackpool people think it could be Aston Villa/West Ham or Southampton we haven't pinned the blame on you just yet

Agree2 Disagree2

Please note an ALLEGATION has been made re an illegal approach to a player. The press has said it is by Southampton, which is either a guess or something leaked by Blackpool.

So why are we assuming it is true, and why are we assuming it is Saints?

Suggest we wait and let the legal boys sort it, and then move on. Yes, if it is a malicious, false story I suspect NC will make certain that the offenders pay the price.

Saint Martin

Agree3 Disagree1

I am the poster above who doesn't like Holloway very much..

Not at one point did I say it was Saints who made the illegal bid.

Even if it is not Saints that have "illegally approached", does it stop Holloway from whinging? No.

Agree3 Disagree2

In Adkins interview on SFC he acknowledged the complaint was against us, but said we'd approached everyone at Blackpool thru proper channels .
Including that chump .
This is just below the belt tactics to start a bidding war for Phillips

Huey

Agree1 Disagree0

Blackpool have accused Southampton although it sounds more like it was the agent going behind people's backs rather than the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

Unfortunate Matt Phillips is now cup tied for capital one cup, as Blackpool lost to morecambe. Bet that starts the "concentrate on the league" talk, even before the season has started.

Fonte & Fox useless tonite. Good understanding seems to be forming between Puncheon & Clyne. Was Lambert still on his holidays? Davis showed promise when he came on & Schneiderlin played well with good long range passing. But Lallana needs to be out on the left. I can see potential for the season but Fonte & Fox need replacing!!
SaintJimbo COYR

Believable6 Unbelievable4

We need to play 4-1-3-2 then we can have morgan holding, push wide right lallana out on the wing where he is more useful and can float in behind the striker and davis in a central role.
Jas93

Agree2 Disagree2

Fonte is a desperate case. We need to replace him quickly. I'm not sold on getting a new left back. I think Shaw can step up to being a top flight defender. He is top quality and we've seen what he can do. I reckon if we give him the chance he can show to be better than Chamberlain proved to be last season for Arsenal.

Agree7 Disagree2

I posted last season fonte
was not good enough if
saints got promoted
a lot of people disagreed
but i still say he not good
enogh for premiership

Agree6 Disagree1

Exactly right. Completely agree. Particually about the Lallana bit. He's better on the left for sure. Plus, Jay Rod is better in the middle.

Lenny

Agree4 Disagree0

We play 4 1 2 3 we get murdered simple as that it's a ridiculous statement to ask adkins to play that formation. Your asking them to play with two out and out strikers and then a further three attacking midfielders. That is an incredible strain on our already useless defence! We without doubt need TWO holding midfielders and ONE striker that is the way we will cope this year. Flooding the midfield and actually giving ourselves a chance to get on the ball and play. Its blindingly obvious where we are short and I can tell you 100% it's obvious to NA and NC too. It's TWO centre backs we need neither are good enough, simple. Yes Fox can be a bit shaky but surely an apparent International footballer can step up. I worry a little because Udinese are no better than a good majority of prem teams and we were resoundingly beaten at home. But I have faith and just hope we get some quality defenders on board ASAP its paramount to our survival.

Chris HUMPHREY Speedy winger from the SPL, linked to Saints yet again, He would make good business sence. Worth a punt and much better than Puncheon.

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Since the season finished, Puncehon hasn't put a foot wrong. Has been by far one of our best players in pre-season. He seems to have lost his attitude, and was honest about his time at Saints in his interviews, which were both respectable. He said that he's had an up and down time, and is trying his best to impress for this season, and I believe him! He's a decent player given half a chance.
Sam R

Agree11 Disagree2

Better than Puncheon, are you joking?
He's played in League Two and the SPL.
Puncheon has played in the BPL. Much better option!

Agree7 Disagree1

Puncheon will go missing in games as soon as we start playing BPL. Saints need to pay big money for centre half

Agree3 Disagree3

He was suspended earlier this year from international duty when himself and marlon king went AWOL from the jamacia team during training , is that the sort of player we need ? - chris

Agree2 Disagree2

Agree with the cb part but puncheon a good player giving the chance

Agree2 Disagree1

Are you some sort of donkey, who has homework to do? Puncheon was born in Croydon... He's never had an international cap or call up in his life, and certainly not for Jamaica. Unless there's a 'croydon' in Jamaica and I'm extremely mistaken. Please try and refrain from trying to stir s*** in the future.
Sam R {Ed001's Note - wow, you really aren't doing yourself any favours there are you? Humphrey is the player referred to, perhaps you should calm down a bit and take the time to understand what you are reading?}

Agree2 Disagree2

BPL? you two have been watching to much Olympics!

Punch will be a revelation at Saints this year. It may be a marriage of convince but it will definitely work, and yes he looks good along with Clyne.

Agree0 Disagree1

Chris HUMPHREY has now got Champions League experience, International experience (orbeit short lived) He offers the pace required at the highest level, and given the high level of training at EPL clubs, would be very cheap, and worth a punt.

Southampton are looking at 4 more signings before the end of the transfer Market

Ryan Shawcross - 6-7M
Martian Olsson (Blackburn) - Loan with view to permanat deal
Matt Jarvis - 8M + Lee Barnard
Beram Kayal - 3M

Lee Barnard, Jonathon Forte, Ryan Dickson leaving the club
Callum Chambers, Jack Stevens and Sam Hoskins will all leave on 6 month and season long loans

Believable9 Unbelievable15

These are all lightweights!!!B

Agree0 Disagree0

Beram Kayal for 3M you must be joking. He's worth double that at the very least and I highly doubt he will leave Celtic when they look as though they are going to play in the Champions League. Plus Man Utd and Liverpool looking at him

Wolves winger Matt Jarvis hands transfer request - move to saints is very much on

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Hope so! Do u know the latest? New bid?

Mini-saint

Agree5 Disagree3

Initial offer is expected to be rejected - but we will return with a better offer - most likely to be player plus cash deal

Agree0 Disagree1

Would have to be over 9 mill because not only have wolves knocked back a 9 mill bid from hammers they also have to pay 15% to gillingham

Agree1 Disagree1

The bod wasnt 9million up front it would be about 4million player, 1-2 agent,1.4 gillingham, 2-3 addons

Agree1 Disagree1

Jarvis will not be joining Saints. He is scheduled to have a medical at West Ham on Tuesday with official confirmation on Wednesday.

Southampton are believed to be one of several premier leauge clubs wanting to sign irish youngester christopher forrester.

The 19-year-old St Patrick's Athletic winger has become an internet sensation after scoring a catalogue of spectacular goals, including two against Shamrock Rovers in April.

Forrester only joined St Patrick's in January from rivals Bohemians, where he won Young Player of the Year last season.

With interest building in the highly-rated youngster, the Irish club fear they may struggle to hold onto their prized asset.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

We don't need any more youngsters. Looking for players that will start and challenge for places. The youth set up is stable enough! especially with its GOLD category status :)

Agree3 Disagree2

Right now they wouldn't. Bring this up again next summer, maybe.

Southampton have been reported to the Premier League, Football League and FA after reportedly attempting to 'tap up' Blackpool winger Matt Phillips

Source: Daily Mail

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Proberly still upset that we sung premier league your having a laugh. that was funny

Agree6 Disagree3

Daily mail is not a very strong source. They make up about 75% of their story's and 80% of their statistics.

Agree5 Disagree3

If it is true... why are we shopping for yet more unproven premier league players?! could be dangerous, could be not

Agree2 Disagree4

That's not how Southampton do business so it's absolute poppycock!

Agree3 Disagree1

Still leaves a 25% chance it's correct - not bad odd's

Agree1 Disagree1

Would be a good signing though

Agree5 Disagree0

Cant see Matt Phillips joining Southampton . He has established Prem teams chasing after him and would command a £3m - £4m offer so wont be sold cheap. {Ed001's Note - more like 10-12m, they have to pay a huge chunk of anything they receive to Wycombe, so the fee will be higher or it is not worth them selling.}

Agree1 Disagree3

67% of people know this

Agree0 Disagree3

Holloway lost his sense of humour that day,w....r

Agree4 Disagree0

More like 10-12 mil you having a laugh 4 mill at most a hugh chunk to wycombe will be 2 mill sorrt your life out
