Personally I would like to see Virgil van Dijk .I know the rumour always float around and Celtic must be sick of saints but I would pay over the odds for him. Liked to look of Sam byram if clyne goes Chuck him straight in. I think a bit of honesty is needed regarding the academy though. gazza not good enough time to move him on no progression despite playing through the leagues get someone else as a strong understudy for forster . age is not an excuse there are plenty of good gks similar age or younger .

Would've liked van Dijk last summer, not so sure now though, wouldn't say he's a big improvement on Yoshida or even Gardos. Save the money and put it towards Alderweireld's wages.

Byram would be decent backup, he's not played at RB for leeds all that much since january, not sure I'd trust him as first choice for us, especially if we do make europe and/or are pushing for it next season, would rather us find another Bertrand with premiership experience for a similar/lesser amount of money

Gazza's improved a hell of a lot after playing in the under 21's, can't fault him for anything in the Leicester game really. got to remember he only played about 10 games in league 2 before he moved to us though, most of his faults really are down to age and inexperience, especially at our level. Could do with loaning him out for a season

I don't think Gardos has done that bad when he has come in.
Granted he is not first choice but he is much better back up then we have had in recent seasons.
We are going to need a solid replacement for Toby if we don't make the move permanent, and dare I say it, Fonte is getting on a bit and hasn't been great in the last few games. (maybe that's due to Forster not being behind him)
I agree that Gazza has improved a lot, and he is only going to get better.
I'm NOT saying he is in anyway in the same league as De Gea but look at the first season he had with Man U compared with how is is now. He will improve and in a season or I think we'll have a couple of the best goalkeepers in the league, not just one.
That said we do need cover if Forster doesn't make it. How about lindergard (excuse the spelling if its wrong). A loan deal until the end of the year?
Lots of talk about Charlie Austin at the moment. I'd like to see that happen, and playing alongside a hopefully back to form JRod would look on paper like a formidable strike partnership.

{Ed001's Note - in terms of keepers, one that you (and half the Prem) have shown an interest in recently is Zieler. He was with Man Utd as a youngster and has impressed in recent years. He would want to be first choice though, so I would think a move for him would suggest a fear over Forster, either health or his ability.}

Believe it or not Lindegaard has made just 29 appearances since he moved to Man United in 2010. Personally I think we need someone who has been much more active in the past few seasons and will at least keep Forster on his toes when he does return.

caulker looks second rate at the moment and most of this season.
Shawcross over him every day of the week.
There are also plenty of non-English talent out there

Great news. Fingers crossed his injury problems are behind him and we can see him back to his best. Seems like a really nice bloke and he deserves to get his career back on track after such a cruel kick in guts, right on the cusp of a World Cup, when he was absolutely flying.

Well done to all involved - I think he's the first major player to re-sign since last summer's circus.
