Jack Cork is close to a 3m move to Crystal Palace expected to be announced Thursday.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

RK is a very football-educated man. Terry Paine rightly named him his player of the season. all us fans could not only see his workrate. but his incredible contribution to each game, virtually running the show. so how we can just get rid of him I am at a loss.
watch last seasons games and its there to see.
wrong decision

Agree15 Disagree2

Don't just go on news now and then post on here, cork currently in contract extension talks and that's fact. Understand should all be positive but I'm sure you have all guess I'm on the outside looking in. Good news to follow me thinks!

Agree10 Disagree3

Rumour or truth, Cork is worth more to Saints than £3million. I cannot see a good reason to sell him. Give him the contract his efforts deserve, I say

Agree13 Disagree0

I hope so with Jack C.
or I really will start losing the faith. Pleased to see RK does not think a lot of Wan-Cant-pass-a. would have been disappointed if he rated him!

Agree8 Disagree3

Bit rich coming from you picky. your whole post about shane long was parts from a few articles I read. the part about the exotic names etc.

Agree3 Disagree1

I would rather schneiderlin went for big money than cork for 3 mill.

Agree11 Disagree1

Don't shoot the messenger picky.

Agree1 Disagree0

So we lose Jack Cork of all people and now people are starting to lose faith? get a grip people, he'd be on the bench most of the season.

Agree1 Disagree4

I completely diagree TorontoSaint, Cork would be one of the first on the team sheet for me personally, he was just as good as Shneiderlin last year and should've gone to the world cup IMO

Jack cork to palace. A fee if 3m apparently agreed. This according to the daily mail. Gutted if true

Believable6 Unbelievable9

How can we afford to lose a player like Corky! With Schneiderling unsettled and still likely to leave, surely we will need Jack. He always gives 100%, wins us the ball and gets things moving. I don't want us to have a team full of players who do not know the premier league

Absolute disaster to lose Cork. Pay him the money he wants. He deserves it after the way he was treated by the Pooch. No disrespect to Palace but he is a much better player than that. He will be worth a big fee in a years time. What on earth is going on at st Mary's?

Crystal palace will name the signing of a Premiership midfielder today or tomorrow, and I have a horrible feeling it maybe Jack Cork!

Do any of the EDD's have any info on this Palace signing and do they think it might be Cork. If this does happen surly we have to sign Clasie, he is class, what's every ones thoughts?

They are signing Martin Kelly

Agree4 Disagree2

Cork isn't leaving! He must have been offered a new contract by now?

Agree3 Disagree6

Lol Martin Kelly is a rb

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Martin Kelly is actually a centre back who was pressed into service at right back when Liverpool were desperate for one due to an injury crisis. He just performed so well he ended up getting an England call up while playing there, but it also saw him pick up numerous injuries as his body wasn't suited to it. I expect him to return to centre half, though he has played recently as a defensive midfielder.}

Saw the Feyenoord game at the week end and claise didn't look that impressive so I think we need cork

cork and spiderman were the business last year as was steven davis un sung hero

Agree8 Disagree0

Well that is great news that cork is not going, and its great to have all your input Edd's it really is appreciated.

Spider wants to leave, pretty sure he was promised something that won't happen so we really can't blame the guy.
Cork was promised a new contractlast summer by Cortese who then back tracked and now Les (the main man ) Reed thinks he's surprus to recryments. He's going to go this window on a transfer or for free next summer, for sure. JWP, Harrison Reed etc, plus all the new signings, we're going to be fine. I hope and pray, my gut feeling is WAFU

Agree3 Disagree2

Cork has not been offered a new contract. Ask Ronald or Les if you don't believe me.
End of story.
PS he won't be offered one either.

Cork to palace for £3m. Gutted.

Agree5 Disagree0

Daily Mail saying a deal for £3m with Palace for Cork is almost done.

£3 million. In a world where Saints are paying £12 million for Shane Long. You couldn't make it up.

I know Cork's in the final year of his contract, but I would've thought a steady, proven PL midfielder would be worth more to Saints as a player for this season - after the never ending upheaval of this off season - than a measly £3m in the bank. If he leaves on a free next summer having helped the side survive what is looking like being a relegation fight, is that a better outcome than further weakening the already wafer thin squad depth?

They won't replace him for just £3m. I think this is a dangerous move for the club. If Wanyama picks up another long term injury, that leaves zero defensive midfielders.

Unless you believe Schneiderlin's going to stay and give 100%. Which I'm sure you don't.

Agree2 Disagree1

It's a Shame, but I pointed out a few weeks ago that after their pre season fitness tests, (saints YouTube channel) he didn't come across happy. He reiterated his desire to play regularly, something he said troubles him under poch b4 wanyamas injury. All of us has questioned the amount of cm players we have. Maybe 1st team football is something koeman couldn't guarantee?
He is a fans favourite, and I would like to see him play regularly. It would frustrate me to see a talented young England player, play bit part again. If he goes I wish him luck

Agree1 Disagree0

Saint Dez, I'm going to pop round and see Les @ his house. have you got his address? Pmsl

Morgan doesn't want to play for Saints any longer, that we do know. A reliable source told me that Koeman wants his own people in ASAP and he's not impressed by big Vic. Where does that leave Cork? On his way to either Palace or Swansea is my understanding but this will be towards the end of the window or even on deadline day.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Why would him not being impressed by victor wanyama mean cork is leaving, that would only further cement his place in the team you first class person

The only reliable source within Saints comes in a red bottle!

Sorry, but I have yet to see one of these reliable source stories confired

Agree10 Disagree1

Wanyama was quality against Bayern Levercusin, he was a rock in the middle of the park and I was very impressed by him, he seemed more confident and settled than last year and I can't remember him making a dodgy pass, which would surprise a lot of people from last year

Agree6 Disagree4

He doesn't like Wanyama so he's selling Cork?! That's Mourinho style mind games. I don't like Davis so I will sell Clyne that will keep them on their toes!Quality info!

Agree9 Disagree0

Saint martin. my source that told me lovren would be leaving at the end of the week. my source that told me Ralph was going to make a statement at 4pm stating that Jrod and Spider were not for sale was also right. I AM THE SAUCE

Agree0 Disagree8

Well then give us some good news and tell us who we are going to sigh

Agree3 Disagree0

Morgan will leave this window, I'd bet my house on it and Jrod will go most likely in January but next summer at the very latest.
It's not all doom n gloom, maybe we will be ok but this is clean sheet of paper time that is for certain!
And don't bet in the academy players because Ronald won't!!

Agree0 Disagree5

Oh and I said about atsu aswell. which went through yesterday leaving us a better chance with Jonathan Biabiany.
shouldnt have sold puncheon.

Agree3 Disagree2

When's Gardos and Long going to be confirmed SaintGibbs? We'll test your source!

Agree1 Disagree0

Shane Long and Fraser Forster, whoopy!!

Agree2 Disagree0

If Wanyama is quality then Aldi food is better than M&S. No Lovren or Boruc behind him, that's if he plays, we'll soon see how good he is.

Agree1 Disagree6

^ Wanyama's only downside is his passing (as is Cork's). Wanyama gives so much confidence to the defence cause hardly anything gets past him

Agree5 Disagree3

Disagree all you want I haven't supplied false information yet.

To those that are shocked and dismayed at my comments about the amount of money we are probably going to pay for Shane Long just go back about 48 hours or so. Look back on the rumours page and see the comments when it was first announced, mostly with incredulity. 48 hours later the same people are changing their minds and now it seems a very sensible choice. I'm not, overpriced and not the sort of player we want. My opinion hope I'm wrong, honestly.
