Levy set to approach Southampton for MoPo in the next 24hours apparently. Rumour is that MoPo is identified as the perfect man to get the most out of lamela and develop the younger players whilst playing entertaining spurs football.

Hope we've had a chat with Malky Mackay and he doesn't jump at the Norwich or West Brom job before we know what's going on. Quality manager.

Agree4 Disagree40

Sherwood sacked so could be set to talk to Poch?

Agree15 Disagree14

Malky MacKay? Is that a joke? He's like a budget Sam Allardyce. Saints can do better - preferably a manager whose teams play football.

Agree30 Disagree2

MoPo has already stated that he has a year left on his contract, to keep stating that would hint that he will not push a move and therefore the club would need to agree to an approach.
Spurs, especially Levy are a knee jerk bunch and have had a number of managers and time is not given. Look at the season just gone, AVB sacked, Tim assigned and put immediately under pressure then sacked for 6th place.
MoPo a hero for 8th at Saints. With the right investment Saints can be higher than Spurs next year.
If he goes I reckon he will be sacked by Christmas.

Agree18 Disagree3

Malky Makay - that's a leap of faith. I can't believe his scouting connections are wide enough for Saints and he has only managed two championship clubs in the past Watford and Cardiff - not enough Prem experience for me. Mind you a Swiss crane heiress and an Ice Hockey coach may not know who the best managers are.

Agree7 Disagree6

If mopo were to go, michael laudrup would be the best possibly replacement, can cut it in the league but Swansea didn't have the squad to compete simultaneously in Europe but with our squad I feel he would do as well as mopo

Agree19 Disagree13

FU2 although I understand your point mate but surely you wouldn't think an Italian banker would know who the best managers are and he didn't do bad with the appointments of Adkins and Pochettino

Agree12 Disagree2

Saintjoe totally agree but just hope that Mopo stays. Having read Rednapps comments on Slysports he is just hopgin Spurs pick Mopo not saying that Spurs think it too. Why would he want to go and work for someone who is even more trigger happy than Dom Jolly!

Agree7 Disagree1

Cyprussaint: obviously in an ideal world mopo would stay with us and why would anyone want to go to spurs! But if he were to go, which is not something I would want, out of all the managers likely to come to us michael laudrup would be best suited as he played attractive passing football at Swansea and he did achieve a similar finish to ours this season and cup success so although poch going wouldn't be ideal and could see a mini player exodus manager wise I think we'd cope

Agree1 Disagree0

Totally with you on that Saintjoe. Concerned if Mopo were to leave which players (if any) would leave. Its going to be an interesting couple of months as our players will be linked away up until the final day of the transfer window unless we can get them nailed down with new contracts or extensions to shut the media up.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we wait until after the world cup before consider selling shaw or adz as their value could increase. I hope we sort out poch soon. come on the board give us some good info soon and sign some decent players coyr

EDs. if MoPo was sitting down with the board yesterday, then when do we expect to know one way or the other? I know its not an instant thing, but surely they have had some chats leading up to now so they have a fair idea of what is likely to happen?!

Believable6 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained before there is interest in Pochettino from elsewhere and I understand that there is a good chance that he will leave. On a further depressing note, do not be surprised to see bids increased for Shaw and Lallana and bids to arrive for Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin.}

So we could see four of our players leave? I hope not we need adz, Luke, Morgan and jay to stay. Come on poch stay. Ed

Agree6 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - See previous answer.}

Is that interest from Spurs, Ed0002?

MoPo would have to be insane to take up the Spurs job. It's a poisoned chalice.

Separately, I do not think in any way that simply receiving bids is depressing. If anything, it emphasises our achievements this season. It will only be depressing if we accept them.

Agree4 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - It is.}

I can see poch going to spurs, need to get him signed up soon. Have we replied to Man U and liver pools bids? Is poch having talks this week? Ed

Agree2 Disagree8

{Ed002's Note - I have explained what I know and thinks don't change every 5 minutes so there is no need to repeatedly as the same questions.}

I think it's all down to the board, if they show commitment to the dream early. By showing a mission statement, buying well, spending wisely to build on what we have achieved.
This action will keep us together, everybody at the club wants to see the dream come true and they will all stay another season, to see how far we can go. If this doesn't happen I can see a mass exodus.

But fear not, we will still have a club, to love, it is us the supporters who are The Saints, we are the heart and soul. No matter where we play, who plays for us, who runs us, we stay true. We've seen it all before, yet we're still here. COYR!

Agree15 Disagree3

The rumour is that the scheduled meeting between the board and MoPo DID NOT take place yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree6

This from the Adam Lallana interview last week with the Daily Echo, I think it sums up my view in the earlier post

“There will be decisions made in the summer on what kind of route the club will take in terms of whether we really do push on and go again and look to really improve.

“If that’s the case we want to keep our best players and our manager. ”

Lallana is adamant the base is already in place for success, and that the players have proven it.

Agree7 Disagree3

There is no doubt at the quality of lallana and shaw but why havnt other clubs entered the bidding. let's hope they stay but my guess is saints want to balance the books.

Agree1 Disagree0

Most fans haven't a clue at the cost of running the club. They should cap wages, agents fees and change the Bosnian ruling. Although its their own fault there are clubs over 150 million in debt so don't knock saints owners if they get high bids for players just make sure there a sell on clause if they go.

{Ed003's Note - You need to register.}

Hi ed are we in talks with rafa silva? Have Leicester offered kasper a new desl

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts - this is a nonsense you asking the same questions over and over.}

Sorry ed, is their any truth in that man u have upped their bid for shaw?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I will tell you a little after one this afternoon.}

Ok ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It seems that as of lunchtime, there has been no further bid from Manchester United for Luke Shaw.}

13 May 2014 06:41:53
The Guardian are reporting that Southampton have rejected United's £27 million bid for Shaw.

But then again this is Jamie Jackson and he said a few weeks ago transfers and contracts were all but done. So god only knows who's whispering in his ear.

I do hope we have told them to go away though.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

The Daily Echo has gone and contradicted itse;f today as well.

Yesterday, Adam Leitch claimed in an 'exclusive' that Saints had tabled Poch an offer. And yet, today he claims that Poch never met with the club yesterday. Unless he's implying that Les Reed sent him a text, or snapchatted the contract to him - which I would find difficult to believe.

Agree5 Disagree1

Speculation. Saints owe £27m out to other clubs for Wanyama, osvaldo Etc so this is where they are getting this figure. We would be mugs to sell so cheap. I think he will leave but nothing less than £35m would do. Adam leaving would be devastating for the club. let's not be bullied by the so called big boys.
