Saints enquiring about Stuart Holden

Believable14 Unbelievable13

Can't see why they would look seriously at a player who has suffered such a serious injury. Must be better options.

Agree11 Disagree5

Doesn't mean me wont play and get back to his best, would be good signing for saints because holdens Is a good player

Agree5 Disagree7

He's a good player when fit. The Premiership is not somewhere to take a risk and with squads down to 25 players next season can Saints afford to have one place taken up by someone who might break down?
I think there are better options out there, who are not such a risk.

Agree9 Disagree2

There is a bloke called Drogba..... could get a few goals for us you think?

Agree7 Disagree10

Nah. Spends too long on the floor. Like having 10 men on the pitch.

Agree10 Disagree7

There has been a rumour that Saints will make one signing which will make the Premiership sit up and note their serious intent, like they did years ago with Keegan. However, it is probable that the wages for someone like Drogba would preclude him.

Agree1 Disagree4

Holden would also make Saints much more appealing in the US. Might increase our merchandise revenue quite a lot.

Agree6 Disagree4

I hope not about 1 signing, might sound good but we would go back down, the least amount of players we would need sign to stay in prem would probably be 3 a right back, attacking mid and winger or centre back

Agree4 Disagree4

It means that one of the signings will be out of this world! doesn't mean we will only sign one player!

Agree3 Disagree2

Why he is scottish? {Ed001's Note - he is American, he has US citizenship, not UK.}

Agree1 Disagree3

If he can recover from his injuries this season this would be a great great buy. Works hard for the team, got pace and creativity, not a massive ego and most importantly from what I know of him he is a top, top guy. Seems very grounded, gets on with fans, great work ethic. I know we want quality footballers but we also want players who will fit into our team and the work ethic and team spirit that already pre-exists and has produced back to back promotions.

Easy to put this rumour down because he isn't a big name, but he was decent in his few games for bolton before he got injured, so if he can recover and put a run of games together I can see him being quality. And, like I said before, all round good lad. Will be relatively cheap too and Bolton prepared to sell. And good to get some N American interest.

Hope this happens.

2 players that i think can do a good job for southampton in the premier leauge is shaun wright-phillips, and Djibril Cissé both from QPR. i know cisse is a hot head, but he scores plenty at this level. and wright-phillips, we all know what he can do in the right team, and i think southampton would suit his style

Believable7 Unbelievable31

Can't see QPR letting them go now they have maintained their Premiership place.
Cisse would be likely to cause problems within the close team spirit at St. Marys and that alone would probably preclude him.

Agree15 Disagree3

Will stay at QPR in the prem

Agree15 Disagree5

Wright-phillips . 100% agreed

Agree6 Disagree15

I wish

Agree3 Disagree9

Wright-Phillips is a one trick pony and his close control is beginning to go. We should get someone on the up.

Agree12 Disagree2

We should get ince, Phillips or zaha maybe Jarvis
Good players that are getting better

Agree21 Disagree1

Why is all the talk off good championship players.need to get top players from prem.norwich and swansea done well but next seasons the big test for them.saints need top players
