Billy Sharp has just tweeted that as far as he is concerned, he has had an enjoyable season with Forest and has 2 years left on his contract as a Southampton player.

If this is true i'd be delighted, really like to see Billy given a fair chance to show what he could do.
Sadly, I think somebody's taking the pee-pee.

He does'nt know anything yet

He's on holiday or has been this week. He's thanked the Forest fans and my take on it is that he has 2 years left on his contract but doesn't know who he'll be with.
I personally was sorry to see him go at the time but thought that Mayuka must be good because they had let Billy go - but Mayuka didn't really get a look in did he? I don't think Billy will play for us in the Prem next season.

Rumours are spreading that Poch is close to signing Celtic's Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama. Seems good move - even Le Tiss thinks so
Believable17
Unbelievable2
Well it sounds like all deals are targeted to be wrapped up by July 1st so could well be the case we've almost signed him, and what a player to get if we have.

Be great competition for cm with corky and morgan

He can also play cb

We could always drop cork into centre half, he was immence when he playes centre half

I think playing 4-3-1-2 would be best, Wnyama is a very good player, and they'll be quite a few bigger clubs after him. Don't think price auld be too much of an issue for saints, but if he had the chance to join a top 4/5 club, I'm sure he would take it. A midfield of him, cork and schneiderlin would be insane tho!

4-3-1-2?!
Are you crazy. That provides no pace or width attacking. Such a narrow, negative formation assuming you are suggesting we play 3 CDMs in Schneiderlin, Cork + Wanayama. No chance.
We'll stay with our usual line up of 4-2-3-1. And use rotation policy on positions of squad strength.
Also on a more serious note, we won't be signing Wanayama. I'm as ambitious as most but that's just silly. Wanayama will go to a club in Europe.

Cork could also cover RB for Clyne then too, solves a problem

Rumours say Wanyama has expressed a desire to move to southampton. He could even play attacking mid aswell - like Kaka

Wanyama quality player, versatile, perfect for saints

Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Central Defender Cheikhou Kouyate of Anderlecht. The 23 year old has reportedly told the Belgian Champions he's ready to leave and Newcastle and Southampton are favourites to sign him.

Rumour on the gravepvine is that Poch is keen to see what Billy can do in preseason before making his mind up on keeping or replacing him. Not sure what to make of this myself. On the one hand I liked the guy and thought he was good in the box, I also think that between him, lmabert and jrod we would have 3 goalscorers up front. On the other hand. I perhaps think it is time to push on and go for the next level up in a striker. Thoughts:?

As he said, give him a chance and have someone in mind if he doesn't cut it! Sounds plausible to me.

Level up for sure, Lambert is great but has become more of playmaker under Pochettino. Would much rather sign a fantastic new player to get us 15+ goals and may help Jay Rod to up his own game.

With MP saying he wants his squad decided by July 1st, this seems pretty unlikely!
Saint Martin
Agree4

How are we going to sort out the squad before July 1st? Surely that will mean very little change?
Agree2

He meant he wants most if not all signings in by 1st July to integrate. Poch said there is a meeting this afternoon to discuss targets for next season
Agree4
Disagree1
Well he'd be stupid not to really
Agree3

Why would a fantastic new player only score 15? that wouldn't be fantastic at all
st stuie
Agree1

That is rubbish bout sharp pochettino won't be there plus he wouldn't move back to Southampton his girlfriend hated it there
Agree2
Disagree4
Sharp doesn't need to come back to Southampton. He's probably better off putting us behind him and trying to move on elsewhere because of his apparent issue with Cortese.
Agree2
Disagree2
And if manager and chairman are gone?
Agree2
Disagree1
Firstly, I said 15 PLUS goals. Secondly, I said fantastic player, not that 15 goals would be fantastic (although it would be pretty damn good). And thirdly, only 5 players (Van Persie, Suarez, Bale, Benteke and Michu) have scored over 15 goals this season - it would be better than Lambert or Rodriguez has done. Jeez.
Agree7
Disagree1
We need an attacker who can change the game if it gets stale! At the moment we are putting midfielders on because we don't have that depth of team! We will need this if we are going to go for champions league in 2 years!
Agree3

Champions league? I just fell off my seat.
Far more likely back in the championship, and no I am not a Pompey supporter!
Agree1

So you want us to splash out on a plaayer who is a run of the mill, personally I would rather sighn a goal machine, if your going to hope at least make it count

Inter Milan are said to be interested in Morgan Schneiderlin.

Inter Milan are broke, they couldn't afford him unless in a swap deal. Not many of our players we'd be interested in.
Agree6

A deal is being lined up for £12million. His head has been turned and we will struggle to keep him. Therefore I think we should take this deal.

Why would he leave a mid table english team, to play for a mid table italian team?
Agree10
Disagree3
He just signed a 5 year contract. He's going nowhere.
Agree9

Everybody knows contracts mean nothing apart from meaning you get decant money if the player wants to leave.
Agree0
Disagree7
He wouldn't have signed a contract if he didn't want to stay.
Agree6
Disagree1
No if he has signed a contract it shows that he is happy with saints. Also he has just won both awards so he will be feeling good about himself and will want to stay on at saints

Wasn't it Inter who wanted NC?
Could be a "rumour" seeded to generate some pressure.
Agree3

^No it was AC Milan who wanted NC

He worth a hell of a lot more than 12 million, ha 12 million wouldn't even buy you a half decent player these days

Milan were after NC a couple of years back not Inter. I know they've had a bad season but to suggest a move to inter as a mid table prem team for a mi table Italian team is madness. Saints don't compare with a club of that size. yet.
