Poch to spuds is a done deal.
He met with spuds chairman on Tuesday and the job is his
If he wants it. He apparently told Lallana not to sign anything
Regarding moving to the scousers as he would like him at spuds.
Time to move on.

I have to admit to being surprised as MP was in Southampton tuesday night - and as for telling AL not to go to Liverpool? I know Adam wants CL football next year - I wasn't aware Spuds had qualified.

Wouldn't surprise me but hope poch stays. Sort it out soon saints

The day before the Saints board met to discuss what they will do if those North London yobbos (do you remember that?) come in for Pochettino. As someone famous once said do'h.

Some papers reporting Poch has been offered a 300% payrise if he stays. Not saying I believe anything in the papers but just saying.

A friend of mine in the media has told me that Pierre Michel Lasogga of HBSC is likely to join the Premier League this summer. She says that she knows at least three clubs are interested in the player; Liverpool, Southampton and Newcastle. She also says Tottenham are monitoring him in case they don’t secure their preferred targets. It’s also widely known that Lasogga wants a move to the EPL and with only a year on his contract a move this window is very likely. I worked with her for a few years and I'd say she's quite accurate normally. We aren't the most likely to get his signature but hey, we've stolen players from under the noses of the big teams before.

TJ - Had to re-read your post as originally I thought why are we interested in someone who works for HSBC?

Ha! Sorry, it's Hertha Berlin.
By the way I should say, no I’m not ITK. I just used to work in the media (in political reporting, not sport) and still have a few friends there who occasionally throw a piece of Southampton based news my way every once in a while.

How much would be cost? Is he anygood

He's thought to cost somewhere between £7-10 million. Though obviously if a bidding war starts then that could escalate.
In terms of his worth I'd say he's very good and has a lot of potential. He's 22, has scored 13 goals in 20 appearances in the Bundesliga and has a very good disciplinary record as well. He's in a similar mould to Lambert but his link up play does need a bit of work.

Thanks. Is it just an interest at mo? What are his best attributes

Hi Ed is this a possibility?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry. I do know he is not a Hertha Berlin player though, just spent last season on loan to them from Hamburg. Considering his goal scoring record last season for Hertha, I would think it was highly unlikely Hamburg would sell him for as little as that, as they are certainly not shopping him around.}
Ok thanks ED is it true that we're about to offer mp a new 6mill contract? I hope we sort it out soon in the next week and he stays with the players and we sign some decent ones Coyr

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, there has been an open invite to Poch to begin negotiations for a while now. He just asked to get the season finished before he would sit down and discuss it. So I do expect him to be offered a new deal, yes.}
Do we have an interest in caulker? Thanks

{Ed002's Note - I understand that Southampton will look to Caulker as an option to replace Dejan Lovren if he leaves.}
Hi tj is it just an interest at the mo
Agree0

Sorry Ed001 you might have it a tad mixed up there. Lasoggas on loan at Hamburg from Berlin, not the other way around. He's played at Berlin since 2010. Ze Cooler, 2 weeks!

Oh and Steve I think it is just an interest at the moment, I don't think anyone's bid yet, they're still waiting for his loan to HSV to finish after their relegation decider tomorrow. It's widely known he want's to leave for the EPL this season though, his mother (and agent) confirmed that much in an interview with Hamburger Morgenpost. I think it's just a matter of time before someone puts their cards down.
And his best attribute is probably his finishing. He is really good in front of goal and at getting in the right positions. Just the sort of thing we've been missing if you ask me.

Hi ED surely lovren won't leave he hasn't been here long and he's class. Would we not be looking for another cb fir back up?
Agree0

{Ed002's Note - If there is interest in Caulker it will be as a replacement for Lovran.}
Or have we put an offer in for him tj?
Agree0

HI ed, surely lovren won't be off though I hope not anyway. Would we not sign him as back up? ED

{Ed002's Note - I have already answered this - don't waste my time by keeping on asking the same questions.}

2 seperate friends have sources.
Apparently media reports that KL had a board meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Spud interest in MP.
A source from Tottenham said he's adamant MP was seen there.

He has spoken to spurs, if he hasn't then he will do I'm sure. But that doesn't mean he has agreed to take the job. He will speak to them to find out what they'll offer him in terms if vision, control, money, budget, staff uniform and control of the coaching staff. Just so he can compare it to what we will offer him.

I would really love for this to happen! Great player, and could definitely make the step up. We still need to sign a 'bigger name' striker to lead the line though - someone capable of a 20+ goal season.
Agree8

Jay-rod was maturing well before his injury. If he can come back fully fit he might be the one that scores the 20 goals. He will have to increase his goal to chance record but that is coming and will get better with time. Agreed though a 20 goal striker would be good but unless they are proven in the Prem most new foreign imports seem to struggle to adapt to the English game.

I know a lot of peoe will disagree with me but I wouldn't mind tkig a chance in Connor wickham he was class in the last few games for Sunderland and he's a big English lad who will only get better with a great team

Wickham is not a bad shout, he scored 5 in has last what 6 or 7 games when Sunderland needed it most, so can defiently step up to the occasion, would be interesting to see if he can maintain his form into next season

I would love it to happen but think its rubbish. How much would he cost?
