Great news. Sam is a very good prospect which could well be on the verge of breaking through to the first team this year

Tactically Koeman likes to mix it up a bit with the 4-3-3 and 5-3-2, the 5-3-2 could be an interesting one as we could Shaw and Clyne forwards more which I think would suit both of them and then maybe Chambers could drop into one the CB slots on the right, with Fonte in the middle and Lovren on the left, could work quite nicely and slot Lallana into either side of the CM and give him a more or less free role with either Shneiderlin, JWP, Corky, Wanyama, Davies or Reed around him and couple of strikers up top, J Rod when he's back and hopefully a new striker too, obviously if people leave different players could slot into those positions but it shows Koeman has a plan B tactically which I never really felt we had under Poch, COYR!

Totally agree. Although a simplification, I always felt we tried to play it into the net which caused us some ridiculous problems in some games. Apparently Koeman does like playing from the back but if the need requires a hoofing then that's what it'll get.
I know its early but I have some serious hope for the future.

Agree, I'm optimistic too. Koeman is a good tactician and a good name in football, who might attract more quality players.

He's got a good eye for signing goal scorers too, with Pelle and John Guidette who both had excellent scoring records in the Eredivive so hopefully we'll get someone who's just as prolific in the prem

This was my main grip with Poch, it was all well and good playing the pretty passing game but there were points where 'ugly football' would have gotten us a result, there were times we should have gone with 2 up front or more of a standard formation when teams had figured us out etc.
With Koeman we'll get that, we won't be quite as fluid, players will stick to positions much more but we'll be much more solid and we'll surprise teams a lot more

Think Saints might go for Terence Kongolo from Feyenoord because Koeman was still developing him as a player when he left, he must be good too get into the Holland squad with the defenders they couldve picked at just 20 years old!
