Good performance today and really unlucky not to beat Arsenal. But still it's a good point on the board and back out of the bottom 3. Spectacular defensive performance though, think we are doing very well at the back but still may need someone to cover the Centre back spots. Lets hope Adkins and Cortese have the right deals lined up and onwards and upwards! COYS!

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Played well could've had early pen as well, bit more luck with disallowed goal, but boils down to individual mistakes cost us points again, guly is not good enough for pl... thats 4pts in last 2 games he's affected, there u go I said it..... bring on believers...... before u say I'm fully behind team I love but come on

Agree7 Disagree15

Need to get some better blinkers mate! Who put in the great cross for Lamberts opening goal? Oh no, it couldn't be, but oh yes, it was-Mr. Guly!
Talk about people being selective.

Agree14 Disagree6

Guly put in a solid shift today.. And he had to attack that ball from the freekick as kolshieny (sp) was after it..

Agree13 Disagree7

Guly was outstanding today as he was against stoke! if you actually watched games you may realise this!

Agree15 Disagree7

Guly played well, worked hard and was unlucky for the own goal, you clearly don't have a clue

Agree15 Disagree8

I disagree with above post, Guly was our best player today, he chased everything and worked his socks off. Against Stoke he also played very well. Original poster, very well said a good point against good opposition.

Agree13 Disagree9

Yet again, another goal scored by Saints this one by Ramirez was not given. Saints 2 -1 Arse.l

Agree11 Disagree2

I am by no means a Guly fan, but his last two games have been very good. The own goal was unlucky, but he did the right thing trying to get boot to ball. As for his miss against Stoke - don't forget Rodriguez missed the sitter first before the ball even got to Guly.

Aussie Saint

Agree9 Disagree4

I agree guly played well but rodriguez didnt miss a sitter he had two deffenders on his back and the keeper made a great save

Agree3 Disagree3

Get out of gulys backside. He's useless. If I had as much game time as guly I'm sure I would put in a good performance or two eventually. He isn't good enough for saints. He is lazy. Its nothing personal but more often then not I'm thinking whyyyy guly whyyyyy.

Agree2 Disagree8

Why is that guly hater so aggressive? And he says he cost us 4 points. Actually, he did the right thing trying to stop the free kick. It was just unlucky. The open goal against stoke, he was out of the area and on his weaker foot. Need to cut the guy some slack. 90% of the time he has come on in the PL he has performed well, stuck at it and been hard working. He tracked back alot to support Shaw. Should try going to these games rather than sit at home and judge based on what you hear. Bloody keyboard warriors

Agree6 Disagree2

How can 'Mr non-believer' slate one of our best players in the last 2 games and then say he's 'fully' behind the team. Based on the number of agrees/disagrees, however, it does appear he has the support of Skates, cynics and pessimists though.
SaintGazza

Agree4 Disagree1

If you had as much game time as guly we'd be below reading and QPR what an terrible comment, shows that your opinion if worthless lol

Agree2 Disagree1

Guly won the ball from Koscielny for our goal.....

Agree4 Disagree1

If people like you would get off his back and cheer him for once then maybe he would actually play with confidence instead of being worried about everyone having a go at him as soon as he gets the ball, lets face it if it was lambert or Ramirez who accidentally scored an OG you would be saying unlucky and stuff like that. he is a southampton player and as a SOUTHAMPTON fan i support every player representing the team i love!

Agree3 Disagree1

I will hold my hands up and admit I was one the shameful fans that booed when Guly was brought on against Reading. I believe Guly was pretty bad last season and was bemused with how he got a renewed contract. He is versatile but I didn't think he could do a decent job in the Premier League, particularly with defensive frailties.

However, I have to say that Guly did play well at Stoke with a good assist and the so-called open-goal chance was not that easy with the ball bouncing to him at speed on his left foot. Against Arsenal he was very good again and worked very hard to stop Arsenal hurting us. The own goal was caused by a little bit slow reaction but really unlucky.

I for one will get off his back. I saw his face when he scored the own goal, when he came off and when the final whistle went - he was devastated. Let's get behind him, and he could get the monkey off his back and be a good player for us again. As long as he wears the shirt with pride and shows the effort he has in recent matches, he'll have my support.

COYR!

Agree8 Disagree0

I am from southampton and love the saints always have always will but guly is championship at best no pace, lazy, no skill some saints fans are so deluded he plays his best ever two games for saints 1 which he misses a sitter and the other scores an own goal it is so clearly obvious some people may love the saints but do not know there football guly is a waste of time and money along with fox, boruc, harsh but true this is the premier league best in the world and guly doesnt belong simples.

Agree1 Disagree9

Guly is the worst player Saints have had in a long time. When people say things like' oh but he tried really hard against so and so' its just a cover up for the fact that its like watching a giraffe play with an orange.

Agree3 Disagree9

Very short memory: Stern John couldn't run let alone score. You all know there are plenty others.

Agree6 Disagree0

I'm a season ticket holder and think guly is useless

Agree1 Disagree8

The point of the comment was if I had as much game time as guly I would have a couple of good performances eventually. So in fact ur comment was pointless.

Agree1 Disagree4

Well said COYR! and what an arrogant, self-opinionated post from the Guly hater to follow. People who 'know there (sic) football' take 90+ mins into account and not just the two 10 second highlights you keep bangin' on about from your sofa. Presumably, you also want Adkins sacked 'cos he can't know his football either, according to you.
SaintGazza

Agree3 Disagree1

Clearly not a real fan if you think Stern John was bad for us , forgetting the fact he almost single handedly kept us up 5 years ago with the brace against Sheffield Utd and about 15 more goals that year.
Guly has quality in possession and I see him as more of a CAM but we have gaston there so hell probably stay out wide. Clearly need some more options out wide with lallana out , steve wont cut it and there was nothing on the bench to come on for punch who had a quiet game last night

Agree2 Disagree0

I have watched every minute of every saints game and yes from my sofa of down the pub you dont have to have a sŁason tickŁt to be a propper siants fan. This will be the highest level guly will ever play at just wait and see the proof is in the pudding once saints sell him he will go to a lower club or get a job in KFC somthing like that coz he's pants . Dont get me wrong i would love to see him do well for us but its not going to happen.

Agree1 Disagree2

Love adkins want him to stay for a long long time yet. Not a fan of guly. Yes he had a decent game or 2 recently but i agree with one of the posts above and believe that i would have a good game eventually if i was given time. Im not saying im right because adkins obviously see's something in the goat but i think he'll be gone soon. And good riddance. I am a season ticket holder and have seen guly at his worst more often then iv seen him at his best

Agree2 Disagree2

Not, necessarily, disagreeing with the above posts about his ability but whilst he wears the 'badge' he will get my full support. I respect Adkins judgement more than my own and the abuse Guly receives from season ticket supporters in the stands makes me feel ashamed.
SaintGazza

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd like to see adkins go tbh. pardew more or less built that team, at bare minimum the foundations. just a shame he couldnt cope with cortese telling him what to do... ps goodbye guly and fox. please?

Southampton are looking to sign Wellington of Sao Paolo in Brazil's top flight. The midfielder would act as cover for Cork and Schneiderlin with box to box pace and a great ability to tackle.

Believable12 Unbelievable7

He plays for Fluminense, not sao paulo.

Agree7 Disagree5

No, Wellington Nem plays for Fluminense. Wellington is a midfielder for Sao Paolo who has great stamina, very good pace and a great tackling ability. Plays generally Central Defensive Midfield but is a great Box to Box player.

Agree9 Disagree1

His a winger

Agree2 Disagree4

About time boruc was in goal

Agree6 Disagree15

Just left Celtic rumours, it says Southampton to sign Gary Hooper, the figure of Ł8m is being mentioned, he has a great eye for goal but is he EPL class?

Agree6 Disagree4

No it doesn't it says Southampton and QPR to bid Ł8M for him.

Agree2 Disagree4

Would be a mistake to sign Hooper and this is media drivel which has been around for ages. I think we can do so much better.

Agree4 Disagree4

Yeah Southampton can do much better than signing Hooper.........I hear Marlon Harewood and Jay Bothroyd are both available - those are Saints class!

Agree2 Disagree9

If you are a skate or a celt, same question. And how was the last game for you then?

Agree4 Disagree1

Naah marlon harewood and jay bothroyd suit pompey more there old, terrible and willing to have low pay one month contracts

Agree2 Disagree1

This AGAIN? Can we have a ban on Hooper based discussions on this site?
In all seriousness it doesn't really matter who is better out of Celtic and Southampton or who Hooper would choose because it's quite obvious he won't get the choice, seeing as Celtic don't need to sell him and Southampton don't need him. MOVE ON.

Agree8 Disagree2

To original post:
1) Nem plays for Fluminese
2) He's an attacking midfielder, not a defensive one
3) if anything he'd be cover for Ramirez and Lallana, that's if he doesn't start in the first place
To Hooper posts:
I think we could do with Hooper! He's scoring bags of goals both in the SPL and CL, which is the one thing we desperately need as we don't have a consistent scorer other than Lambert. I'd rather have Hooper as back-up to Lambert than Jay Rod tbh... But the reality is, Celtic won't sell any of their big names until the summer as they want a dark horse shot at the CL. Scottish football is on the decline so expect departures in July, not now I reckon.

Agree4 Disagree3

Wellington nem plays for fluminese who's an attacking midfielder
but the Wellington the original post is on about is a winger who plays for SĂŁo Paulo tbh doesn't look much good probably just another guly

Reading what NA has said about Arsenal being interested in Shaw, there could be a very direct response from NC (maybe in French!) which will clarify the situation even to Wenger!

Agree11 Disagree3

What do you mean by that?

Agree2 Disagree3

Wenger has been seeding strories of his interest in Shaw to the media. It is now indicated Arsenal will start discussions with Saints. Well, to do that, they have to initiate a conversation with NC. As NA has said, "good luck with that!" The response I suspect would not be get past the Eds, so I leave it to your imagination.

Agree9 Disagree1

Sounds like to even get into talks with Shaw they'd have to pay 30, 000, 000+ and even then he's very happy at Southampton and not too willing to leave.
