According to a dutch newspaper this morning, southampton are looking at a possible loan move for ajax right back Gregory van der Wiel, the 24 year old have found it hard to get games this season, (13 leauge games).
He has so far played 25 times for the dutch

Wiel is too good and think he is wanted by ajax and not just to warm the bench. Not starting doesn't always mean he isn't favoured or there is anything going on behind the scenes. Mixture of injuries and not wanting to disrupt a team that was functioning ok are the reasons why he didnt manage to get a run of games together in their starting 11.

Courtois could come on loan, what you said makes sense...lol. Athletico may not make CL, and Chelsea have stated they would like him to get prem experience. Where better than a club that's going to be taking a few punches.
