Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton are ready to go head to head for the signature of Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the 23-year old Gabon international ready to make a move away from the Ligue 1 club.

according to eatsleepsport

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Tottenham will take him.

Agree5 Disagree5

Don't need a striker atm

Agree5 Disagree4

Tottenham won't sign him, they signed adebayor today for 5million, so if we do go for him hopefully itl be unchallenged, I do feel we need a bit of pace up top although I think will do great

JustASaint

Agree3 Disagree1

I've heard that the player we're looking at from this club is Kurt Zouma (He'd fit "the Southampton way")

Agree0 Disagree0

We do have pace in lee dont forget when he's fully fit it will be like having a new signing up front or on the wing

Agree0 Disagree0

JustASaint,

They will still want more than two proven strikers...

JJ

Agree3 Disagree0

Why not have him his good competiton for places

Agree1 Disagree0

Tottenham need him more. Adebayor will just sleep through most matches

Agree2 Disagree0

They do have more than two, they have Defoe, Adebayor, Kane (sub) but there now in for Willian according to the papers
so it leaves the door open for us if we want him.

JustASaint

Agree2 Disagree1

JustASaint

As I said before... "More than two PROVEN strikers"... you just counted two... plus Kane, who isn't prem standard.

Thanks for proving my point by struggling to name them.

According to Metro we could lose Ramirez to Liverpool or Spurs, as they have both renewed interest, following the hold up in the signing

Believable2 Unbelievable10

We'll offer better terms to the club they'd want the best deal.

Agree4 Disagree3

Only if either can't get Johnson.

Agree3 Disagree1

Lfc fan here in peace , saints fans pls stop reading media b/s lfc are not interested in Ramirez nor have we been I don't know about spurs so can't comment on them , his agent has mentioned us & other clubs in the past to try & get the best possible deal for him truth is he isn't that special yes he looks pretty good for bologna but he's playing in a very poor standard Italian league did any of u watch him in the Olympics he wasn't very good at all but to b fair nor were most of the Uruguay team , now I'm not saying he's rubbish or he won't turn out to be a good player & slate me as much as u want nor am I slagging saints as I have a lot of respect for u but if he was that good there would be more top clubs ie teams playing c/l football coming in for him & there simply hasn't been hardly any interest in him just b/s from his agent & the media also there is the 3rd party ownership issue hence trying to drum up interest saying such & such a club are interested to get the best deal its simply not true , good luck for the season .... Steve

Agree3 Disagree2

According to the free paper based in London with little reporting effort........

Agree1 Disagree0

On his way to saints deal done

Agree2 Disagree0

Liverpool fan, spurs were interested they launched a bid for him. I do doubt you'd want him I swear liverpool have plenty of options in those areas. I reckon he will prove to be quite good maybe not worth all the money though. Thanks and good luck to liverpool too, unlucky Vs West Brom but that's how things go sometimes.

Lucas Biglia who has been linked with Arsenal is now supposed to be linked with us according to a romour going round the Arsenal fans. Was told this by an Arsenal fan.
Haven't got a clue if its true or not hence why I'm posting this to see if anybody knows anything or its just a romour going round the Arsenal fans.

Chris

Believable4 Unbelievable2

We were linked to him on Sunday I think, the same day he came out and said that there had been contact from other clubs, but none that he would consider leaving Anderlecht for as he wants to stay in the Champs League

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless he plays centre back I think we could live without him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Biglia was second choice behind Sahin who now looks on his way to Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saints are set to beat arsenal to the signing of biglia for about 6m southampton finally showing their financial muscle

Saints one of three clubs in negotiations with Birmingham for defender Curtis Davies
Expect to see Davies or one other "home grown" option and one overseas defender brought in before deadline.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Lets hope you're right. Although maybe not Davies it just needs to be a good defender.

Agree1 Disagree1

Hopefully we get Curtis, he would be a brilliant addition to the squad.

Agree1 Disagree1

Would love to see this. Not the best defender in the world but big, strong, powerful, premier leagued experience = Ta ta Jose babeyyyyyy!!

Agree0 Disagree2

Getting Curtis is a plausible signing - Caulker is unrealistic as he is major up and coming with spurs. Why else would Dawson be going if not to make room for Caulker.. Either Or Guyz... But would be delighted with any of the 3

Agree1 Disagree0

Southampton have contacted spurs regarding a defender,
Lets hope its caulker

Believable5 Unbelievable2

It's rumored to be michael dawson not Caulke

Agree4 Disagree3

It may, unlikely, be Michael Dawson as rumoured on talksh1t that he is on the way out of spurs

Agree2 Disagree1

It will be rose or dawson as caulker is still a major part of their plans,

Agree2 Disagree2

Doubt it will he rose, definatley a cb caulker or dawson would do dnt know y they r selling dawson hes been there best cb

Agree1 Disagree0

Also dnt kno if this means anything but lambert and dawson did a video for ladbrookes together

Agree0 Disagree1

Sky sports news say qpr in for dawson

Agree1 Disagree0

I think transfer of Dawson to QPR has been agreed, missed out again.
SaintMike

Agree3 Disagree0

Rose isnt a defender. (to the above comment) would love chalker, but i think with king retireing, he will get his chance with spurs now

Agree0 Disagree1

Dawson is headed to QPR it seems. It's ridiculous how much they spend. This'll be their 9th signing. I hope they get relegated they need a reality check.

Agree2 Disagree0

Dawson going to QPR for £9million, not saints, and so I doubt they would sell Caulker at all. n1ck

Agree1 Disagree0

QPR have bid £5.5m for Dawson so if we have enquirer we better get a move on

Agree0 Disagree1

Lloks like dawson going to
qpr for 9 mlllion
tomorrow

Agree1 Disagree0

Dawson appeared in a video for Ladbrokes with Lambert today. It was on the Echo website

Saint Sam

Agree0 Disagree0

Dawson has just signed for QPR at 5.5m.
Caulker is one for the future and will not be leaving tottenham. As for Rose I am not going to even comment as this kind of player will not be a good signeing for us. However, on a positive I hope the comment above about Curtis Davies is true as he will do a very good job for us, obviously he is not a world beater but proven, established, solid centre half!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've heard Livermore's name get a mention..... plays CB & CM ... so might be something in that?!

To clarify that the third party issues surrounding the Buttner deal where and always have been Man Utd. As soon as interest was known Buttners reps stalled the deal. Hence why Vitesse got upset as they wanted the original deal to Saints to go through and not drag on waiting for Man Utd to maybe bid. Rumours of an Ajax clause or family demanding money are just pure guess work.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

If thats the way buttner and
his agent operate
them and man utd deserve
each other
man city will be the team to
beat not utd

Agree4 Disagree2

A quote in today's media report from Buttner even states that the Man Utd interest began one month ago ... So would support this as being the third party issue.

Agree4 Disagree1

People in holland have been saying that he would be considered a good signing for southampton and fulham but not good enough for a team like utd so it's a bit of a strange one!

Agree5 Disagree0

Third party cannot be man utd. They would by have been a third party of a deal. The third party was like a previous club or agent. Considering his agent said the third party issues had been resolved and the deal was supposedly back on. Man utd as the third party just doesn't make any sense, stop dramatising

Agree2 Disagree2

Not guess work! Just information that came my way

Agree1 Disagree0

Seems to me that the agents was using saints to seal the United deal. Butner and his agent where far to vocal about coming to saints

Agree1 Disagree1

Third party was/is his family (Dad) has already been reported that he had 10% stake.

Jannersaint

Agree1 Disagree1

Half of us didnt even no alexander butthead before the mess around lets hope he aint like ivanovic or will be gutted

Agree2 Disagree0

Ramirez is doing the same thing as Buttner I think. Just an opinion.

Ramirez and Phillips could both sign in £18m swoop. Heard that the club want BOTH players and are "expected" to sign Ramirez

Mini-Saint

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Far from complete

Agree9 Disagree5

Not too far from completed actually, Italian media reporting it will be done "soon" next few days I think we will know one way or another. Not to sure on Phillips atm, haven't heard a lot but is still alive by all means

Mini-Saint

Agree6 Disagree3

Its true, well its what the paper has said yesterday morning. but there again the papers a 9/10 times wrong about transfers.

Agree5 Disagree0

Ramirez deal is off again. Taken another twist for the worst after the chairmain refused to let the player go for less than 20m. Lets move on to the next one!

Agree2 Disagree3

I'm not sure you can say it's off when it's not really been on yet. I mean we will with this situation just have to wait and see.

Agree1 Disagree0

^^^this was last week...we've all moved on since then. Keep up.

Agree1 Disagree0

Are you talking about what the bologna president said regarding that a deal was not in place yet and that he wants 20m euros? If so, that's old news. Apparently the bologna president was in southampton discussing a deal with NC yesterday.

Agree1 Disagree1

MILAN, 21 (ANSA) - Pass the Uruguayan Gaston Ramirez was congleado Southampton after Bologna again rejected the payment terms offered by the English club.
The President returned to Italy Albano Guaraldi "empty handed" after rejecting the payment of 15 million euros would cost the signing.
Bologna's position is determined by the arrangement at the time of transfer Ramirez signed with Penarol and requires payment of 30 percent of that figure to Uruguayan club and his agent, plus 5 percent for the call "solidarity fund "for intercontinental passes.
Southampton would have remained firm in his proposal to settle the transaction in four installments (the first immediate and certain consistency), which ran into the president's refusal expressed as Guaraldi, when missing a few days to close the Italian book of passes . 21-8-12 16.48

Agree0 Disagree1

Unfortunately metro has reported that spurs and liverpool are lining up new bids for Ramirez as Bolonga want £18m now after we met their £16m asking price

Agree0 Disagree1

About the post that sed they want 20m where did you hear this cause they stopped it goin though b4 because they wanted 15m i think your chatten sh1t mate

Agree1 Disagree0

Matt Phillips on the bench for the game againts leeds

Heard today that an offer of €10.5 million was accepted by Barcelona for Christian Tello. He is set to fly to England to talk with Adkins and Cortese over a possible deal. I don't expect he'll actually sign for Southampton I reckon we'll take Gaston Ramirez instead.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Ramirez deal looking likely, apparently we enquired about Tello but it was rejected. if tello joins it will be on a loan deal :)

Mini-Saint

Agree2 Disagree4

RUBBISH!! The lad started for Barca at the weekend!! 2 hopes here, bob hope and no hope!!

Agree6 Disagree4

Tello will only be leaving Barca on loan. He's one of their hottest young prospects.

JJ

Agree4 Disagree1

No chance whatsoever tello doesn't want to leave Spain

Agree1 Disagree4

Hes flying to england to talk about a transfer ? but in the same sentence you say "but you dont expect him to sign"
whats the point of flying over then ?

Agree3 Disagree1

He put in a Man of the match performance at the weekend for Barca. There is absolutely no way he will sign for us!

Agree2 Disagree0

Saints to complete £18 million double signing of Ramirez and Phillips in next couple of days.

£12million for Ramirez plus add ons.

£6million for Phillips plus add ons.

JJ

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I think both would cost a little more. £20 mil for the pair would be believable. But Ramirez would have more for the sell on claus of the old club and agents fee's.

Agree0 Disagree2

They won't take anything less than £15million or 20 million euros and holloway has said they don't need the money and the players are under under contrct so Phillips wontmhappen

Agree1 Disagree3

We won't be getting Ramirez. Mark Lawrenson said "he won't be going to Southampton" on MOTD 3.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19314163

Agree2 Disagree7

Mark Lawrenson mostly gets everything wrong though

Agree5 Disagree1

Who gives a fu£k what mark Lawrenson thinks

Agree5 Disagree0

What does Mark Lawrenson know?!?! Don't believe him, Ramirez deal pretty much nailed on now!

Mini-Saint

Agree4 Disagree0

Just watched it, mark lawrence thinks that comments made by cortese about the deal being complicated means it likely wont happen and that ramirez is probably trying to get the attention of other premier league clubs. But this proves nothing. Lawrence isnt exactly flawless when it comes to predictions and Cortese knows his stuff, lets just see what happens. COYR

Agree1 Disagree1

In Lawrenson's predictions for this weekend he said our main problem area is the lack of a 15 goal a season man! Mark Lawrenson is a bitter Liverpool man who is jealous that we are in for a player they failed to sign! {Ed001's Note - erm actually Lawrenson maybe an ex-Liverpool player, but he is a Man Utd fan. He is just bitter generally and an awful commentator with terrible jokes.}

Agree3 Disagree2

Mark Lawrenson isn't the don of football. What he says isn't fact. I mean he may well be right but Gaston may still arrive as a saint soon.

Agree2 Disagree0

What does mark lawrenson
know he is hoping
ramires goes to liverpool
because he played for them

Agree3 Disagree0

Mark Lawrenson also said West Ham will avoid relegation primarily due to their manager.

Agree2 Disagree2

The only thing Lawrenson has got right is shaving off that stupid mustache.

Agree3 Disagree0

If Mark Lawrenson said he's not coming, he's definately coming!
When we were in the premiership last every season he said we would be relegated and we never were! The one season he said we would stay up, we get relegated! never seen the man get a saints prediction right!

Agree3 Disagree0

Mark anti saints lawrenson? The day I listen to him and what he says is the day I boil my head.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lawrenson has never had a good thing to say about Saints,he'll be telling us next we pinched Liverpool's kit, having said that how much longer till Ramirez signs!

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard a transfer rumour that Mark Lawrenson was going to the daily mail.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Lawrenson. He's the only commentator that actually tells it like it is and says if a shot or pass is woefully bad. That said he does hate Saints, so as long as he's not commentating on us I'm happy

Agree0 Disagree0
