Scott Sinclair is very interested in joining Southampton, according to Family friends who are in regular contact with Scott and jake from Bath Somerset, Scott is excited about linking up with younger brother jake.

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Excellent! Scott knows it makes sense! COYR!

Agree2 Disagree8

Saints bid excepted. Expect medical to follow -Southampton fc

Agree1 Disagree13

WBA think they have him. according to the Express

Agree6 Disagree0

Worried about sinclair has barely played since joining city but if we can get him back fully match fit perhaps he would be good but don't see what he has more than puncheon really except a bit of pace and his age.

Agree4 Disagree1

Just heard on the Alan Brazil show on my way in to work this morning that Scott Sinclair will sign for west brom within 48 hrs

Agree3 Disagree1

I've just read that Steve Clark is confident of closing the deal on Sinclair. Mind you he was probably confident of beating us last weekend too and look what happened lol. Report was in the sun so I'll take that with a pinch of salt.

Agree3 Disagree0

Get him signed up especially as Punch now gone to Palace.

Agree1 Disagree3

I don't know where this is coming from but we aren't signing a winger in my opinion. Puncheon is being allowed to go because he is now behind Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Isgrove, Ramirez, Rodriguez, mayuka and even Osvaldo for the RW/RM role. Doesn't sound like we want a replacement. And even if we, do I don't believe it will be Sinclair. Just my opinion but I expect to see him sign for West Brom in the next few days.

Agree8 Disagree1

Agree to the above

Agree5 Disagree0

After all the "suggestions" about Sinclair joining Saints, IMO it was never likely to happen, and will not. If another "midfield" player is brought in I believe it will be an attacking MF to share the load with Gaston-Saints do not need wingers with the style of play MP wants.

Saint Martin

Agree4 Disagree0

Sinclair will not be joining, this is lazy journalism. MP does not use wingers in his style of play, hence Punch has been allowed to go to Palace.
Come on people, just look at the formation we play! Where do the wingers go?

was there ever actually any interest in ryad boudebouz?

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Looks like it was only ever his interest in signing for us

Agree7 Disagree1

Probably not :)

Agree0 Disagree1

He wanted a move to the EPL, the rest was agents and papers.

Agree9 Disagree0

Never ever thought an out and out winger was in Poch's mind. Be surprised if it happens but still think he wants Banega.

Iv heard a rumour coming out of Chelsea that we are interested in signing victor moses and not scott Sinclair I personally think moses would be a great signing for saints COYRS!!

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Sinclair now 8/11 fav to sign for Saints from 18/1 a couple of days ago looks like another piece in the jigsaw. What a great season this is going to be.

Agree6 Disagree2

I think Sinclair, could be a great signing. We're about to lose the pace of Puncheon (whom I never rated that highly)
From what I've heard Sinclair was touted to be better than Walcott, he just needs a club like Southampton, to bring him back up to standard.

Agree4 Disagree6

Would prefer Moses than Sinclair to be honest so I hope so.

Agree6 Disagree5

I hope we get sinclair as I don't think we need moses, I think we should wait till January and see if we need him

Agree3 Disagree0

I would rather have Sinclair. Would be cheaper, he's English talent, and is more the kind of player who we are lacking at the moment. That being said, if we got Moses instead, I'd hardly complain. Isn't it wonderful when a club like ours is linked to two cracking players?

Agree7 Disagree1

Both are quality, either will do a great job!

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm reflecting on the club's decision to loan out Puncheon and have to say that I'm a little disappointed that he won't play a part in the saints campaign this season. I thought that he made some consistently good contributions last season. Has he fallen out with staff again? Willsasaint

Agree2 Disagree1

Not that fussed about Sinclair tbh. We have Isgrove that could fill that role and I think he looked pretty good pre season too. Thoughts?

Agree2 Disagree4

Couple of reporters have made it clear we are not after Sinclair but are looking at a replacement for Punch

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Luke Shaw if they fail to lure Leighton Baines from Everton.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

So what, he would never leave Saints and one thing for sure we will never have to do a Mr. Lowe ever again. Not even Man. U can use their influence and money, Luke knows what's happening at Saints and wants to be a major part of our future.

Agree12 Disagree3

Shaw's going nowhere though, he knows being at saints is best for his development and his family won't push for a move like ox and wallcott's

Agree11 Disagree1

£10 plus Rooney?

Agree3 Disagree8

^ lol you serious? Why would we want Rooney when we've got Rickie

Agree11 Disagree1

^. I was just trying to show how unlikely to happen it would be. although we could sell Rooney on for a bundle.

Agree2 Disagree0

Everyone knows Shaw's going to leave - just in about 3-4 years and will go to Chelsea, who he supports, for an absolute bundle. Good deal all round.

Agree9 Disagree5

^ Holy hell, a reasonable comment on this site? What's the bets it gets slaughtered by the "Shaw will never leave ever" brigade?

Agree6 Disagree3

Why would Shaw leave to be back up to Evra? Not going to happen, we will never accept a bid as we don't need to sell to buy

Agree6 Disagree0

Why or how do you know that Shaw will leave in 3-4 years, I think I remember a few players who stayed at Southampton all their careers. That was also when we were'nt doing so well either, Matthew Le Tissier being one. Terry Paine etc. Seriously though I know what you mean but let's see what happens.

Agree2 Disagree2

Whether he goes in a few years or not doesn't really matter. We will have at least one home grown LB by then ready to fill his boots perfectly. Trust in the academy as its our biggest asset at the club. No we don't have to sell off the crown jewels anymore but everyone has a price and if a substantial offer came in we would be foolish not to take it. Spurs (once they sell Bale) will have effectively balanced their books this year and may actually end up in profit even having been the most busy in the transfer market money wise. The new fair play rules are going to mean that we can't continue buying big without offloading every now and again. let's focus on the season now rather then panic about 3 years time.

Agree2 Disagree0

Who even knows where Saints will be in 3-4 years? If Abromavich walks out on Chelsea we could even eclipse them in that time. Shaw is only 18 who knows how he'll feel in 3-4 yrs time?

Agree3 Disagree0

^ completely agree. we are all on here guessing what will happen in the next 2-3 weeks!

Agree1 Disagree0

If Luke Shaw was planning to go he would have gone earlier in the window. He has now signed a contract and has stated he wants to stay.

The fact that he is a Chelsea supporter may have some significance in the future but three or four years is a long time in football.

Personally I am more worried by his injuries, he has just turned 18 and really hope that saints ensure he stays fit and that he gets rested. Potentially a great player for us if we acheive our ambitions and lodge ourselves in the top six he may just fancy staying.

Not going to make it up and guess about Scott Sinclair as i'm not sure as to how serious the interest is. but we are definitely interested in Goran Cvijanović of Maribor. Scouts out there now watching him. 26 year old from Slovenia.
Not sure how much he would improve the squad, but in MoPo and NC we trust!

Believable3 Unbelievable6

I've been looking at the odds for Scott Sinclair to us on and its gone done from 18/1 to 7/2. Not saying it means anything just thought I'd mention it.

Agree4 Disagree1

Adding Scott Sinclair would give us the additional pace we need out on the wing if MP wants to change the formation. Think he would be an excellent signing for us. Never thought Puncheon was the right man for the job to take us to the next level. Good for where we were but not good enough for top ten and better. Loving he way way NC is getting his targets and think there will be a few top end Prem managers worried about playing us now!

Agree3 Disagree2

I'm not saying we're not after this Cvijanovic, because I have no idea, but I do imagine that Saints' scouts watch a lot of players--some of them probably multiple times. They wouldn't really be doing their job otherwise. I'd be surprised if we develop a serious interest in even a tenth of the players the scouts probably keep tabs on.

Agree2 Disagree0

Not being the most amazing person when it comes to knowing different players. What do people think Sinclair could bring to us? Would he be as good as what we have

Agree2 Disagree1

Ever Banega has been 5/6 at the bookies for weeks now. Still think if we are gong to sign anybody else it will be him.

Agree3 Disagree2

There's varied reports on whether we are buying or loaning him around the net, so it could point to another lengthy negotiation. possibly up until deadline day if there's any truth in our interest. He does inject the same quality of Lallana. if not just slightly more consistently and we certainly have the upper hand in attracting him to the club because he'll get plenty more starts then at City, and he'd certainly provide an added spark to our attack. Sign him up I say!

Did see below also the suggestion of Callum McManaman, looks a great player but I'm sure Wigan have set his valuation probably as high as we have for Luke Shaw. Definitely one to watch out for during the coming season though.

BBC: Southampton will try to hijack Scott Sinclair’s move to West Brom after allowing Jason Puncheon to join Crystal Palace on a season’s loan.
Saints are ready to launch a £5million bid for Manchester City wide man Sinclair - whose brother Jake is a member of their Under-21 side.

Agree3 Disagree1

Scott Sinclair was told to leave by Manchester city 3 months after signing. Scott has already stated that he doesn't want to go on loan again as he has already gone on loan 7 times in his career. WBA are offering a loan deal with a view to buy maybe next season. We are going to offer £5 million ( which is most of the £6.2 million that man city paid ) if the negotiations between Sinclair and WBA fail. His brother is at southampton and we are offering a permanent move and not a loan which could persuade him to join us and not WBA. Also, odds have rapidly dropped from last night and we are now only 4/1 to sign him.

Agree2 Disagree1

Saintsfan25 - If man city accept our offer, Sinclair would join us over west brom in a heartbeat. why are you trying to put forward an argument. there is no reason for him not to!

Agree1 Disagree1

Although odds are often a good indicator of potential signings they need to be taken with a pinch of salt. This is because odds change due to betting trends, and as soon as it is reported in the paper (metro in this case I think!) money will have been piled on and the odds shortened significantly. Now i'm not saying that he won't sign just that odds aren't always the most reliable source.
