Southampton are set to rival Roma's bid and move for Ajax Defender Toby Alderweireld the ball playing centre half will cost something in the region of £6m-£8m

Well either this is bull or Lamela rumour is. Clubs trying to sign another clubs player tend to avoid competing for other players with that club - so as to not p*ss them off.
If we signed one of the two though I'd be delighted as I'm sure most others would.

Think your find that's Liverpool not saints!

Agree4 Disagree9

Think your find it is Liverpool not us! Trible football link the only thing on the web linking us to this player is this site come on guys get real! Try to stick to solid rumours ;)

Agree2 Disagree0

Best ajax defender unlikely to join us. He has already got champions league football, so the lowest he will want is europa league

Agree1 Disagree0

Would love this, get lamela to he'd be an absolute class signing especially after his season, won't be cheap though

Jesus Gamez - £2m-£3m

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Isn't that a bit of a bargain price? Surely he wouldn't come so cheap?

Agree5 Disagree4

Malaga are desperate for cash so I could find it quite believable.

Agree6 Disagree2

Your lack of faith in how ****** up Malaga is at the moment is disturbing.

Agree10 Disagree3

Very cheap these days 2m-3m would expect 2 have 2 pay more but having money problems can really change a club that's why we got rid of oxlade-chamberlain

Agree3 Disagree2

Money problems isn't why we sold Alex. Bale and Walcott, yes, they were down to money problems but Alex wanted to go. 15 million to saints at the moment is nothing

Agree5 Disagree2

I wouldn't say that 15m is nothing, but I agree we can afford it on the right players.

Agree5 Disagree1

Would not pay more than 6 million for gamez

Hearing that Saints have had bids rejected for Trippier of Burnley and Cresswell at Ipswich. Both players believed to be given permission to begin talks. With clubs set to discuss possible increased second bids.

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Doubt we'll be signing either frankly.

Agree9 Disagree2

I most certainly hope not. Not exactly an improvement on the current stock. Maybe one of them as back up at most.

Agree10 Disagree2

Neither likely to be targets, not better than we already have.

Agree5 Disagree2

Both are perfect competition and understudies to what we have in Clyne and Shaw. Both targets have excellent delivery and both can play on the wing. As well as further strengthening the British contingent.

Agree7 Disagree4

Maybe they have potential but I'd rather go for 2 experienced better quality full backs, as we have two young and brilliant up and coming full backs in Shaw and Clyne who could learn from quality experienced players, as well as providing them with good competition, which is why Jesus Gamez would be great

Agree1 Disagree0

Saints Chairman will do deals away from any public gaze. Forget rumours, you will only know when its happened.

Southampton have been closely monitoring the performances of Inigo Martinez of Real Sociedad. The 21 year old defender has impressed in La Liga this year and pushed into the first team.

Believable14 Unbelievable4

What's this, a realistic transfer rumour? What is this doing here.

In all seriousness though, what with Montanier leaving the club at the end of the season and (in my opinion) there probable missing out on CL to Valencia I can really see a mass exodus at Sociedad. Fair few players from theirs I would welcome here. Martinez, Griezmann Pardo, Vela. I hope this one turns out to be true.

A good, young player. I would be pleased with this signing. If it was CL football he wanted, he wouldn't join Saints though; unless Cortese could work his magic.

Lenny

Agree9 Disagree1

This would be an unbeleivable signing, but I doubt it

Agree6 Disagree0

No this will never happen

Agree2 Disagree2

If Real Sociedad decide to sell Martinez he will be expensive. Roma, Zenit, Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid have shown some level of interest or other in him.
Athletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the recent past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time, but there is nothing of note right now. The kid has said that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon.
Vela hates England.

Agree2 Disagree1

Exactly, why I can see a mass exodus going from Sociedad. All quality players, and let's face it, we've shown quite a talent for stealing quality players from under the noses of the big clubs. Like I said though, those are just players I think would be good for us. I hope the Martinez rumour is true, that'd be a hell of a coup.
