Ramirez deal is not definitely off. Bologna want a full payment, but Southampton want to do 3 payments. NC quoted "are way or no way" so if Ramirez comes to the south coast Bologna will have to compromise.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Ramirez deal still on !!

Agree7 Disagree7

Only if Bolonga get a loan and NC goes back on his word about "our way or no way".

Club has moved on to 'another target". It's a shambles but quite frankly it has been for most of the transfer window.

Be very surprised if Ramirez signed now. VERY surprisedx it's dead. Move on. Next!

Agree7 Disagree4

There are still minor details to sort out, but they are minor. If bologna can sort them out fairly quickly which I believe they can, there is no reason why the deal should not be done. Fee has been agreed, personal terms agreed, Payment plan pretty much agreed and the player wants to join us so there is not major reason why he won't! :)

Agree2 Disagree2

Nothing has changed really in the Ramirez transfer. Just lots of echoing of the same story everywhere relating to the agent remarks seen in the Italian website, while the media looks for a headline.
Its frustrating for us fans, but all that seems to have happened is that Ramirez agent has been shouting his mouth off again. Bear in mind that the story doesn't really make sense as it is not Cortese doing the negotiations but a separate representative as has been confirmed by the Bolgna president, so why would the agent have been given this remark by our Chairman??
No news from Bologna to that effect and I'd be surprised if Cortese has shut the door on the deal. He is a grade A World Class player and there aren't many of those about.
I've seen rumours in the Liverpool echo about them going in with an offer, but would be very surprised if there is enough substance in it to knock us out of poll position... although they might be having a little panic about their ability to score goals after their shambles last weekend!

Agree3 Disagree0

My opinion is there putting every1 off two wrap it up we do business in the shadows so to speak.they probly get gastons agent to say that comment bout deal off to wrap it up that my opinion bout it anyway

Agree1 Disagree0

Saints still hoping for Ramirez deal

Agree1 Disagree1

Its over . it wont happen, and im sure southampton would have agreed to paying all up front as we have the money to do it.. and we would have done everything to sign such a big name - chris

Agree1 Disagree3

I agree, shambles, all scouting/transfer activity shouldve been done 2mths ago, last season we lost out on several players inc Phillips as cortese wouldn't pay wycombe 2.5m so went to blackpool, the so called centre backs we were in for, Collins/Davies/Johnson and tunisian guy all Fell away just like buttner/ramirez/michu. Guess we are not that an attractive proposition like so many fans think we are, either that or cortese too stubborn to pay an extra pound.

Agree1 Disagree4

So bored of this whole saga now, time to move on and forget about it. Onwards and upwards COYR

Agree1 Disagree1

So deal could still go ahead? Am a bit confused!

Agree1 Disagree0

The "I agree, shambles,..." comment.
I think that is quite a harsh appraisal and we do not know the finer points of many of the deals to know why they didn't happen or if there were ever really on the table.
Although in hindsight, I am quite glad that many of them didn't. Collins was rubbish for West Ham for instance and Buttner would have been a mistake if he had come here, whatever he and his agent trumpeted in the press.
And as for Michu, definitely a great player. But not the type of player we need. We are crying out for pace and that is what NC and our scouts are trying to get us
I will be gutted if we don't get Ramirez because I am so excited to see such an amazing player play... for Saints!! But I have our scouts and NC to thank for that queasy excitement and nervousness. We want the best players... and if they are easy to get, they probably aren't the right players for us.
Whatever the score we have a budget, and if we pay all the money of our budget up front in this year just to get Ramirez, we certainly won't have the cash available to Phillips, C Davies or whoever else may be on the cards.
NC is trying to get us the best on the best terms possible and I am glad he is not a man to compromise and I am sure he will be proved right

Whats being reported is slightly off the mark, saints gave bolgna 24 hrs to sort there finances or they were pulling out of the deal, they did this assuming bologna would pull their fingers out as the are cash strapped and need to sell, but due to the inability of bolgna to secure a loan to help with the way the fee for the player would be payed saints decided to stop waiting, which seems ridiculous after waiting a week and agreeing terms with both clubs who own contract percentage.

Believable14 Unbelievable9

Don't panic. NC will get it sorted but he will not enter into any rubbish deals. Might prolong the agony, but much better to get it right and not to let other clubs believe they can walk over us.

Saint Martin

Agree11 Disagree6

Are we gonna get any deals done that don't collapse. Wondered why it seemed too good to be true :(

Agree10 Disagree6

Saints will get him

Agree7 Disagree7

I hope this all pulls together soon. It seems there are problems but I think we should manage.

You lot need to stop believing the rumours about Ramirez, he will sign by Friday night

Believable9 Unbelievable14

So you still think the deal will go ahead even tho his agent said that its off?

Agree9 Disagree4

Cannot be put better, all of this is just speculation, until the agent came out and said its over....

Agree2 Disagree3

Enough people have reported it as off, I think maybe we should just let it go, he only seemed interested in the money anyway

JustASaint

Agree7 Disagree7

Is this the same agent that said the deal was done and dusted a week ago?

Agree5 Disagree1

We ever going sign anyone need to concentrate on cb and lb getting frustrating

Agree5 Disagree0

His Agent said its off but remember when Gaston said himself he was a southampton player just wait and see

Agree4 Disagree4

I'll say it again Ramirez will sign Friday

Agree6 Disagree6

Isn't saying he will sign by Friday also kind of, well a rumour?

Agree3 Disagree0

Well this is a rumour website? Isn't it? Don't remember it being called Southamptonfacts.com?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ha nice ^

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes - but Buttner said the same didn't he and he signed for Man U.

According to sly, the deal for gaston ramirez has broken down and saints are now pursuing other targets.

Garfy

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Hate to say I told you so but...

Agree5 Disagree6

Its not true. Trust he will be a saint by the end of the week. They just want more money up front. They can't afford not to sell him.

Agree4 Disagree6

This is not true go on sky sports new it says we are closing in on the signing of gaston Ramirez after bologna tried to delay the deal

Agree3 Disagree6

I can see nothing on sky sports news

ejo.

Agree2 Disagree2

The website that is not tv they say we're closing in on a deal

Alot of movement around St Marys today, Photo shoot has been booked for 16:00 today - not sure what for??

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I hope this is for Ramirez or new cb but most likely for jack cork who was not in the photoshoot

Agree4 Disagree0

You're not sure why there would be a photoshoot...? (not that I actually believe you) Probably just a few pics of the new dugouts down St Marus or something...

Agree3 Disagree0

Profile Photo's for Saints website. Some are done, I'm guessing the rest do their's then. {Ed003's Note - or images for a well known satelite channel to use this year}

Agree4 Disagree0

I heard this, i was also at the stadium yesterday collecting my ticket for the weekend and there seemed alot of activity going on; cars with blacked out windows and people looking busy. could be nothing but hints at something promising.
Jas93

Agree0 Disagree3

Just reported on SSN that the Ramirez deal has collapsed, and that SFC are moving on to other targets

Agree4 Disagree1

Deal is off.

Agree4 Disagree1

No Ramirez.....deal off! Saints looking at other targets.source skysports

Agree5 Disagree3

Talks between Southampton and Bologna have ended. Ramirez will be staying in Italy.

Most likely player profiles, the well known broadcaster ed mentioned done there shoot last week.

Agree0 Disagree1

Agent claims that Ramirez deal is off because of Bologna's finances, so I'm doubtful it'll be him!

Agree2 Disagree0

Sky sports just reported Ramierez deal gone

Agree1 Disagree1

Since ramirez is off I'm hoping the photoshoot is for the fifa game, be great to get authentic saint faces at last

Agree2 Disagree0

Arh ED003 where have you been hiding

Chalkie {Ed003's Note - School holidays Chalkie, camping and days out etc... }

Ed003 good to have you back on
Don't worry only another 2 weeks and the kids are back at school

Chalkie {Ed003's Note - Only the Phillips one mate,if Saints pay enough they will get him,no smoke and mirrors on that deal,quite simple really}

Heard down at St Marys that Ramirez is expected to sign today, but officially tomorrow which is great news, the Phillips saga is very unclear, I think we may get him, but I'm not sure, and expect two central defenders, one name being Caulker that is repeatedly being said down here. One of the centre backs will be young and expensive the other being experienced and cheap to sit on the bench.

Let's get 3 points on Saturday boys!
Buzzing after City game, COYR

Believable5 Unbelievable6

After king retired and dawson leaving , i dont think chaulker will leave spurs

Agree5 Disagree0

Lets just get them in and push up the league mon the saints

Agree1 Disagree0

We know the deal is done with conditions of securing a loan which could be tough for bologna to do but if they have done so then he would only have to complete a medical which he wont fail as he has played all summer at the olympics. furthermore its rumoured he flew into the country late last night.
Jas93

Agree0 Disagree1

And we've pulled out of the Ramirez deal. Also just been past st Mary's and nothing going on there!

Gaston Ramirez move:
Simon Peace on Twitter-
"#SaintsFC & Bologna have agreed a fee & payment plan for Ramirez. The hold up is because the Rossoblù are trying to sort out their finances." and "#SaintsFC have also sorted out agreement with Ramirez's former club Penarol for their 30%. Hold up is Bologna messing around with finances.

Peter White on Twitter-
"Saints deal for Ramirez nearly done Fee agreed but there is still a problem because cash strapped Bologna want all of fee. More.. #saintsfc" "Bologna trying to secure loan and pay back as Saints pay them. NC not happy and set to give ultimatum, agree now or deal off! #saintsfc" "Decision Day"

Both Journalists that are also Southampton fans

Believable9 Unbelievable2

The above is utterly correct. Think he will sign soon. If they are desperate enough to consider a loan hen they can't afford to reject our 12million... bottom line is he is ours now. Unless Italian pride gets in the way.

Agree3 Disagree2

The agent of Bologna forward Gaston Ramirez claims transfer talks with Southampton have ended and that it is unlikely his client will now be heading for England, with links to Tottenham and Liverpool played down. as per Sky Sports 22nd August

Agree1 Disagree2

Spot on, to accept the offer and be looking for a loan to cover the repayments as well as offering him on loan as a bck up if the deal collapses hints that they need the money and know the ramirez wants to leave. We all know there is no point having a footballer sat around not wanting to play for you.

Ok I don't really know the details of fee's or anything but heard that Gaston Ramirez is supposed to fly to England for a meeting with Adkins and Cortese on Thursday. This could mean the signing is going ahead, at least, I hope it is.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

It said in the echo that the fee is about done its just when the addons will be paid, we have also contacted his old club to buy their 30% so I believe this is true and we will get him

JustASaint

Agree2 Disagree4

Ramirez won't be coming to Saints. Sorry but he won't. Neither will Phillips. Club already looking at other options. Don't shoot the messenger.

Agree5 Disagree5

Don't know anything about this chap, but I do believe a top class striker would be a great addition. We only have Lambert who is likely to get us the goal ratio we need. Tad Lee may prove to be good but we simply can't know after so few games and besides, he is injured. Sharp and the others are decent at Championship level, but I just don't think they have what it takes to be anything like prolific at this level. I like Jay Rod, but it appears he will be used primarily as a winger.

Agree1 Disagree3

After this Internet story - and it is purely driven by fans on the Internet because that's were the papers pick up most of their stories this days - I do hope this fella is good. He's gonna have to score a hattrick in his first game methinks.

Anyone remember Skacel or Delgado? So much hype - so much disappointment.

Ramirez is only 21 and and from South America - not always the best settlers in the UK....

Just a thought.

Agree4 Disagree4

I guess it would make sense why its taking a while, 30% would be worth how much roughly 3-4 million, we always go for the tough options but as long as he don't do a büttner on us, I'm happy

Agree2 Disagree0

I think the deal is taller ATM, the fee is pretty much agreed, but Bologna want 10m up front to buy news players and then the rest within a year, whereas saints want to spread It out over 4 years (length or Ramirez contract). So deal is far from dead, it's just waiting to see which side will cave in first. If we want the player badly, we'll have more negotiations etc but if Bolgna need the money badly they may accept the original offer

Mini-Saint

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would he fly in for a meeting with adkins and cortese when the stumbling block is the payment, not players personal terms? This is getting boring now, lets change the record eh

Agree2 Disagree0

Lots of people are saying the Ramirez deal is off! We can't lose out again surely? Let's get him signed and ready to play! Be grey signing lets just speed te deal up! Hope caulker or Dawson join to with a LB
HDsaint

Agree0 Disagree0

I am seriously starting to doubt that this deal is going to go through at all and that we are not looking likely to sign anyone at the minute! why do we always leave it so late to bring players in!

Agree2 Disagree2

Bologna are trying to get a loan so that they can accept southamptons demands. We want to pay in installments but Bologna want 10m euro's up front and the rest paid up within a years so they can bring in other players to replace ramirez. I think this deal will go through this week as Bologna are trying to get the deal through.

Agree2 Disagree3

We won't get ramirez, may get Phillips and a 2nd rate defender and that's it

Agree1 Disagree2

If billy sharp gets plenty of
game time he will score
goals hes a good striker
