Hi Ed, is there any truth in us bidding €9m for Yohan Cabaye? Oddschecker is putting us as favourites to sign him. Cheers

Friend in France have told me we have made an enquiry over cabaye. They have come back to us saying he is for sale at around €12 negotiatons to begin next week. Someone told me schniderlin is keen for cabaye to join. wish he would stay

As much as I would love him here. that would leave (assuming Spider and Vic are holding) 9 players for the 4 attacking spots . Pelle, J Rod, Long, Juanmi, Tadic, Mane, Davis, JWP and Cabaye?!

I know it's about squad depth but come on.

I think jwp suits deeper roles. He plays there for England quite well. Same with Davis, very versatile.
we will need the strength in depth this season imo.
Plus I think if we were to sign cabaye, he could play in the middle 3 of 433.

I've seen a few conflicting reports about our apparent interest in Austin, do you know if we have made a £10m bid eds? Cheers

Looks like we're going after other priorities first, so any additional striker may be decided on towards the end of the window once Koeman's had a chance to review the squad in action.

It has to be said we do have strong attacking options just not a like for like to Pelle or a recognisable poacher. But in terms of strengthening our weaker areas we could do with a more genuine right sided winger as right now we have Mane, Jay Rod and Tadic who all seem to favour playing on the left with only Long who seems comfortable on the right. Juanmi will more than likely play off Pelle and rotate that role with Davis and JWP.

No Long was, Mane drifted across the front line hence why it caused Villa's defence such a headache.

I guess it could depend what source you take it from. A website positions Mane playing on the left, Ward-Prowse off of Pelle and Long on the right. They switched wings after Mane's second goal I believe.

Mane was playing pretty much everywhere that day. Probably would have saved Bentekes header if he wanted to.

Cant belive we brought mane for 10 mill he's got to be worth twice that npw I got to feeling he's going to be the most sought afyer player in europe after next season
